Salla Apartments

Our family spent a week in Salla, Finland through Crystal Holidays.
We were all first time skiers, my husband & I and our three children, 5, 12 & 13.
We booked ski school for all of us, and as the page in the brochure claimed Salla to be 'Family Friendly', we presumed the teaching would accomodate all our age ranges.
On the first mornings lesson, much to our surprise, we were all in the same class. We spent 1/2 hour on 'the flat' and then progressed to nursery slopes, which our older kids were fine with but the 5 year old could no way keep up with the pace. This upset her as she was left behind with myself looking after her. Subsequently, she no longer wanted to take part in skiing lessons on the following day and therefore I had to abstain so as to look after her. We had had to pay extra on arrival for her skis & helmet hire, and I had already purchased my lift pass which was not even used once! Our family had then been split up for the rest of the week.
My daughter had a very bad experience for ther first ever lesson and I think it will be difficult to coax her back onto the slopes. We were not offered additional help, and even the rep, who was wonderful, was upset at the situation. We were not the only family in this situation.
We sent a letter to Crystal when we got home explaining the situation, but actually had quite a rude reply, stating that we should have read the small print which states that out of season there is no specific kids club/school. Had this been written clearly we would not have booked this resort, as beautiful as it was.
We will never book with Crystal again as thier customer service is diabolical
