Last minute deal (booked two days before travel) very efficient and cheap!
Although we did not book it as a skiing holiday Finland was wonderful. Loads to see and experience. Sledging, walking, cross country skiing and a visit to Arctic circle. Crystal trips and experiences, booked through Arctic Safaris, were fantastic but very expensive. We hired our own snow mobiles as much cheaper than organised trip. Snow deep, scenery magical. We all just loved playing in the snow. Lovelly quiet hotel. Ice castle at hotel a real treat which kept the youngest amused. Hotel very clean and friendly. Good play room for youngsters. Pool not fantastic but adequate. Hotel staff and Crystal rep could not be more helpful. Half board great. Food was plentyful, varied, healthy and delicious, although I'm not sure about the raw fish for breakfast! It was served in lovelly surroundings. (my vegetarian teenagers struggled a bit and got sick of cheese!) Handy having free ski bus to Ruka which stopped outside hotel. All in all a great memorable holiday offering something 'different'.
Top tip: Even if not skiing take ski pants and snow boots. It allowed us to enjoy the snow in comfort!
