just spent a week at eleni, can't grumble, the staff work unbelievably long hours, nice pool, off main road so nice and quiet at night, look around before booking any tours, the prices vary a lot for the same thing, sidari is a good base to explore from its worth going to paleokastritsa to the west and barbati beach to the east, mount pantakrator is stunning apart from the huge mast on the top int the middle of the lovely little monestary. lovely beaches clear waters, palm trees and olive groves. nasty mosquitoes that bite. very hot. fair skin can burn in the shade with factor 40! some of the locals seem a bit fed up with the british tourists, can't say i blame them. a bit of cultural sensitivity would't go a miss. the waiters in the resturants are very attentive and professional, diner at sunset beach was lovely. The air con was worth the extra.

We stayed at the Eleni apartments at the end of August, it was very hot indeed! The apartments are the usual ones you expect from a low price holiday. Get something for the mosquitoes...
The guy that works behind the bar was nice, he spends most of his time on his computer. Once caught him when he was busy, asked him for a drink and was a little off with me. The mother is superb and makes great meals, she will even go out of her way to make you something special if requested.
Pool was nice and big and gives you a chance to cool down. One day it went green, not quite sure what happened - perhaps the pump broke.
Sidari is Blackpool in Corfu really. I would recommend excursions if you are there for 2 weeks. We booked to go to Albania but the coach didn’t pick us up - it happened TWICE. The rep was very apologetic and we got our money back.
Try the chocolate brownies with ice cream, excellent !

The flight with Air Malta was excellent, We had no delays even on a bank holiday return.
The rep at the resort was informative and available, on certain days, But contactable by phone.
The apartments were basic as expected, Nice size. The beds were made every day, if you left the complex. This was a surprise to us as we were self catering.
Pool area on the small side, but sunbeds for all. No separate shallow pool for small children.
Sidari was a pleasant 20min walk away if you turned left at the end of the lane and kept off the main road. The apartments were far enough away not to be troubled with noise.
The family run apartments were very friendly mainly run by mum and daughters as they spoke English, Dad pleasant but didn't speak any English. Prices for drinks the same as in Sidari town. Food ok but better quality / quantity in Sidari.
Lots of places to eat and drink in the main strip of Sidari.
Mikeys Bar is a must to visit as we had a couple of excellent evenings enjoyed by all ages. Food is excellent especially Roast Dinner !! we left at 3am.
Watch out for the mozzy's because even the Jungle Formula didn't work.
We booked some trips in the main resort, Vidos / mouse island trip was excellent
BBQ to Paradise beach was disappointing due to the infestation of wasps and hornets. They would fight you for your drinks and food, And they won!! Not a beach for young children as sea very rough with waves that would knock you off your feet. But very beautiful to look at, for 3 hours!
If going on any trips would recommend buying beach shoes from the resort about 6e as most beaches were pebbles / shingle. Sidari beach is sandy.
Overall an excellent holiday had by all, no upset tums, Lots of hot, hot sunshine and cold cold beers.

What can we say; we have just got back from staying at the Eleni Apartments and wish we were back there.
We have been going to Corfu for the last 9 years and the only reason we go back is that we have got on so well with the family they have now become friends. They are so helpful and kind and always welcome us with open arms. the apartments are based just outside of town, although it is a good walk in to town it is just far enough out as you don’t get all the loud music from bars etc. which is great if you want a relaxing holiday, which is what you would get from staying here.
Give it a try if you are looking for that relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Jimmy, John, Helen and Charlene will always make you feel welcome, and not forgetting Shaun the barman and Alex in the kitchen.
Go on go for it.

I have recently come back from staying at the Eleni Apartments (this was a first holiday for myself and my boyfriend) and from the reviews already on here I must say we were disappointed.
The holiday itself was amazing however even though the apartments were very clean we found the owners to be very rude. Not once did we see any of them smile (bearing in mind this is a holiday we have saved up for and looked forward to for a long time). Not only this I understand British tourists are not always the best people to be around but in a family/coupley place you would think they would appreciate the custom.
On our first day I went to the bar and the male barman charged me one price for two beers, and then when I went to the bar again the female (I think was the mother) charged me double the price for the same drinks! I know this isn’t an awful lot of money but it’s the principal and considering we paid nearly £900 for one week I find this disgusting.
The Greek night which we paid 16 Euros each for was supposedly "professional dancers" was rubbish, we walked out ten mins into it.
Bearing this in mind, Sidari is a lovely place to visit and I can honestly say the perfect place for couples.

As previously commented, the accommodation is fairly basic, but what I expected given the price paid and previous experiences with local owner holiday homes versus the big companies. I guess if you want to have Ikea type furniture and 5* accommodation then go to one of the big tour operators. Our accommodation was separate from the main block and very clean and spacious - it was cleaned and changed as described by earlier reviews. There is a lack of a shower curtain and thanks to the local infrastructure, soiled paper has to go into a bin rather than down the toilet. Although we were surrounded by animals, they really were not that much bother - we got visited by Dick, the owner's dog daily but he'd soon go if ignored. Cats, dogs and birds do make their presence felt at night though and I'd recommend light sleepers taking some earplugs along just in case. Ventilation is via insect screens - there is no air con so again, if heat troubles, I would not go at the hottest time of the year. I would also take along anti mosquito burners etc. - there are not many but it saves getting bitten.
As for food, there is a mini market well stocked with basics within 10 minutes and the staff all speak good English. On the whole though we ate out at one of the many tavernas. A light lunch for two with wine or beer comes to around 20 euros, and our dinners averaged 30 euros - and we didn't stint. There is also a short cut to the beach by taking the lane to the right of the first taverna into town, which saves going into town. The other reviewers are right about the beach - it is littered with cigarette ends and no use for sand castles. As the beach is so dirty, you really do need to hire sun loungers - I don't think a beach towel would last long. The large stones make getting into the sea tricky, though if you get through them it is sandy around 25 metres out to sea.
Molivos itself is very picturesque, set on a hill side with cobbled streets - if you have problems walking you need to factor this in, and also take comfortable shoes as the cobbles are hard going. There are some lovely restaurants on Market Street with balconies seemingly suspended in mid air giving wonderful views across the bay both day and night. Thanks to being protected, Molivos is a haven from large chain hotels and the incumbent discos, so evenings are very pleasant with none of the oafish, louche behaviour that seems to be the norm in other Mediterranean hotspots. As the other hotels are small, it doesn't feel as if the place is overrun with tourists either, which for us was another positive point. Molivos is crowned by a castle - which can be got to following road signs. When we were there they were doing quite a lot of restorative work and opening hours were not reliable.
We also took a trip booked through the local Manos rep. We saw a local village: Kappa - it really was somewhat overshadowed by a trip to an old monastery and the boat ride home. The tour guide, Maria, was highly informative and also good fun. Whilst there were also a large number of Dutch also on the tour, unlike a reviewers earlier comments, we had two guides and so all linguistic needs were met - though as most Dutch speak excellent English, I noticed that many opted to listen to the very enthusiastic Maria rather than their own guide.
Crux question: would I stay there again?
Answer: absolutely - I was very sorry to go, as Molivos was beautiful, the locals very charming, the ambience great, the accommodation quite meeting our needs.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from Eleni 3 apartments in sidari. We had fantastic holiday but to be fair the apartments we booked to stay in were very different to the ones we had expected to stay in, as all of our fellow holiday makers found.
We had booked to stay in Eleni 1 but we actually stayed in Eleni 3. The staff were friendly but the apartments were very basic, the kitchen being very cramped and the bed felt like it was a block of concrete. The air conditioning was over priced in everyone's opinion at 80 euros for 2 weeks.
The family who had the apartments Helena, her husband and her 2 daughters also had a cat which was always in the bar area and on the bar top, which personally is quite unhygienic. The apartments were also out the way, 10 mins walk to beach and 20 into the main part of Sidari.
If you are thinking about booking into these apartments i suggest you check exactly where you are staying as there are several apartments that go by the name of eleni/elena and if libra can easily get this confused then so can you!

I would highly recommend a stay at the Eleni Appartments in Sidari. We had a room with a terrace looking out on to the pool. The room was nice - certainly clean and pleasant enough. We really enjoyed our stay. We were there for 2 weeks. We stayed in by the pool some days and found the atmosphere at Eleni complex very relaxing.
On about 5 of the days, we hired bikes and went through some really beautiful quaint Greek villages - little pink houses, with green shutters with grapes hanging on vines over the door ways.
We went up to Sunset Beach and Cape Drastis - it was breathtaking. We stayed a couple of times around a pool area at a complex in the Canal d'amour - Spiros, was a great host - he minded our bikes and made sure that we were made welcome with drinks and snacks from the bar.
We also went on day trips to Paleokastrista and the factory where they made the liquor out of kumquats etc. etc. We had our evening meal in a local Greek restaurant, Athena (absolutely first class, mouth watering) and the Chinese restaurant - both a short walk along the Sidari road. Some evenings, we bought fresh fruit, veg etc. and made a lovely meal which we ate on the terrace with lashings of local wine.
It was glorious and I came back feeling great about life.

We have just got back from Sadari (sadly to say). The family who run the apartments are lovely, kind people who will go out of their way to make your stay a happy and enjoyable one. The son (Jimmy) who works behind the bar is very chatty and very polite.
There is an extremely attractive English bar man who works there who makes plenty of wonderful drinks and cocktails (which are all very good value for money). The food there is wonderful.
I would highly recommend the Meatball sub or the Lasagne. The Apartments and studios are all kept very clean and tidy. They hold brilliant Greek nights where they show you all the different dances from around Greece and they get you involved too which is great fun. We are going back again next year. You must go, you won't regret it.

This was a very friendly place; we felt really comfortable and made lots and lots of friends. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel. The rooms are just right, very spacious and the owners are very friendly.
We met a lot of British holiday makers too. We ended up having so much fun that we have remained friends with the people we met on holiday. Everyone is just so chilled out. Trust me you will not regret staying here, very enjoyable. This turned out to be the best holiday I have ever been on.

My girlfriend and I went on our first ever Summer holiday to Sidari and we choose through an agency these apartments.
We first got off the coach thinking why are we the only ones getting off here but after a couple of hours we had settled in a realised how good this complex was.
The familly that run it are soooooooooooooooo (yes that many o's) nice and Jimmy (Bar owner) is really helpful and friendly.
All the residents we got on with very well and are all keeping in contact back in the UK to swap photos and stories.
The rooms were basic but very good, we really only slept in them and spent as much time around the pool as we could.
As everyone who has been will say don’t book any trips with Thomson, there are some really good trip companies in the town for a lot cheaper.
Basically yes if you are a couple or family and not a bunch of yobs ( and yes they nearly ruined the start of the hol) you will love the hotel sooo much!

Well where do we start, the apartments are basic and reasonably clean and situated away from the noise of the resort centre approx 20mins walk to the centre and beach.
The owners are the biggest let down the younger couple from Texas daughter/son in law are very poor hosts its self service in the bar area when ordering food which is straight from the freezer in to the deep fat fryer type cuisine, a lady who looks like joe Brand does the cooking and serves(sorry Mrs brand) and basically throws the food on the table, we only stopped on site for food one lunch the island has much to offer but hire a car and explore the car cost €120 for 7 days kalimi and the nudist beach near ermones are both superb with a day in corfu town a must.
sidari at night can be fun if a little brash the eating places can be a little hit and miss with the best being the Simposio and the 3 little pigs at the top end of the resort, local dishes kleftiko and stuffed peppers with feta are great try them, sidari during the day poor beach, very shallow sea and blackpool on a smaller scale full of tacky shops.
go at night enjoy the bars and let your hair down get out and about during the day 2 vodkas cost €8 and food for 2 with wine €35 just keep away from the apartment bar €90 for air con and €14 for a safe key its the only time they smiled He He.
