The Navy Hotel is situated in a great location, close to the beach but also friendly bars and restaurants. The Navy itself has a good atmosphere - the food is tasty, and everything is reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed most of our 2 week stay there, very clean, tidy... more

This was out first time in Turkey and i thought it was great. The Navy Hotel was a small but nice hotel, the breakfast was basic but the dinners were lovely! The lunch during the day were massive and cheap; 6.50 tl for a chicken baguette, chips and salad. There were few... more

hotel navy excellant
rooms small but spotless, as was all areas around the hotel, staff outstanding very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. location 5 mins to beach, bars and resturants we are two women in our 60 'S and will be back there next year!!!
Very basic
Very basic Hotel, but didn't expect anything else for the price that we paid. Bathroom was very dated and needed upgrading, and was extremely small, but it was spotless clean. There was clean towels everyday and the bed was changed frequently. The room had air conditioning, fridge, and enough room for luggage. The breakfast was typical turkish, with the Chef cooking eggs anyway, on request. There were plenty of eating places near the Hotel if you wanted a change, but we ate breakfast in the Hotel. We were on half board, but we ate out most evenings, but we did eat in a couple of nights, the food wasn't gourmet but it was eatable and if you were on a budget it was adequate. The staff were very obliging and friendly. It was £10 per week to rent the safe, we did rent, but found the Hotel to be quite safe, and the staff trustworthy, as we left money, Jewelry and cameras in the room and nothing was touched. It was a bit noisy at night from some of the bars that are near the Navy, but as everything stops at 12 it wasn't that much of a problem. If you have booked to stay at this Hotel, go with an open mind and don't expect too much and then you won't be dissapointed. Overall it is a decent budget hotel and very clean. We stayed on the third floor in the main building, the one with the lift.
Freindly Hotel
Me and my partner booked very short notice with the Navy hotel on a friends recomendation .We stayed on the third floor of the 2nd of two blocks which unlike the main block did not have a lift this was not a problem though. The rooms were pretty basic but neat and tidy if there was to be any critisism it would be the bathroom which was a little dated ,the shower would flood the bathroom whenever used so we had to put towels round the base for tyhe 7 days we were there we did mention this but nothing was done about it ,I know we were not alone in this as I overheard another guest talking about the same problem ,It is however rumoured that the bathrooms are to be refitted soon .The cleaners came every day to tidy the rooms and leave fresh towels ,replaceing the sheets evry third day .We Found the Staff and guests all to be very friendly and alot of the guests had been returning to the same hotel for many years (Hello Hilda) .We booked half board and found the breakfast very good but the dinner although ok did not appeal to us so we ate out every evening of our stay at places like Libertys and Titanic .All in all we both enjoyed our stay in this friendly ,peaceful & relaxing hotel but please sort the bathrooms out .
Really nice hotel
What a nice hotel. Thought by the price that it was going to be very basic but had a pleasant surprise when we got there. Well above basic and the staff could not have been more helpful. We re-arranged our beds to give ourself more floor space and they did not move them back. Also my friend was using a blanket as an extra pillow and the next day the staff left an extra one for her, Really thoughful. Clean towels every day. Breakfast was cooked eggs any way you wanted them or freshly made pancakes. There was also cereal, fruit juice, melon and an assortment of meats and cheeses. Great location just a 2 minute walk to the beach. My favourite place to eat and enjoy myself in was the First Moon which is just across the road from the hotel. What a nice bunch of lads. Not sleazy like some of them. They looked like they really enjoyed their evening entertaining. Place is owned by an English woman called Catherine who is extremely nice to chat to. Already booked to go back next may!
wonderful time
What a lovely hotel, the staff were all so helpful encouraged our feeble attempts at speaking turkish, they couldnt do more to help you. We had booked bread and breakfast and the breakfast buffet was vast, they would cook you eggs etc if you wanted it. Smallish pool but adequate lots of loungers around it. The chef was great we had lobster one day, how divine, it came out as a work of art. The rooms were spotless, quite large, aircon worked, small fridge, we had a nice room on the third floor we could see the mountains in front and just about see the sea to our right. The bathroom was small but everything worked so what more could you ask for. I had free internet access in the lobby, there were numerous tvs to watch and they would switch to any channel you wanted. I shall definitely be staying there again.
Great hotel
Great hotel , excellent location, 5 mins from beach. Good breakfast, you can order other options if you want.Lovely pool near dining area. Staff very helpful, hotel spotlessly clean. Icmeler is a superb resort with fabulous beaches and great restaurants. It`s a long journey after the flight but well worth the wait!!!
Clean, Very Helpful and Basic
The location for this Hotel is 1st Class. The pool is only small, but clean and accessable to all. There are only a limited number of beds around the pool due to the size and small children will need to be supervised as there is a "deep end" The hotel is very clean and well kept. There are two blocks with a lift only in one but near enough to each other not to cause a problem. The breadfast is typical Turkish so if you are happy with this then great, however if you like a big breakfast to set you up for the day then room only is the better option and you eat out. Although we were only B&B the evening meals were good but leant towards eastern europe in choices (other feedback and menu choices) In short this hotel is basic, friendly, clean and in a great location for beach and night life.
Friendly But Basic
My wife and I stayed at the Navy from June 4th to the 19th and we were both very impressed as a whole, we had chosen to go closer to home as our last few holidays had been mainly long haul taking in the Dominican republic, Mexico & Cuba. We went with an open mind as it was to us a cheap holiday and we were pleasantly suprised. I had been to Turkey last in 1994 to Marmaris so we chose Icemeler because from memory it was quieter. The room we had was in the newer block, it was number 408 and was on the top floor. The room itself wasn't massive but for somewhere to sleep and get changed it did its job, the ceiling sloped down quite alot though so we re-arranged furniture to help and after that it was okay. The room had a mini fridge which was stocked with snacks and drinks which was useful if you didn't want to buy from the supermarket, prices weren't that different so we just took what we wanted and paid on departure. The hotel staff were all very courteus and tried really hard to be helpful, you could have a laugh with them and they were all polite and I think this is what made the holiday for us. The hotel had many repeat customers, we must have spoken to at least 7 couples while we were there and some of the couples were on thier 17th visit to this hotel. I sat and spoke to german couple who had been there for a month and they said it was like their home from home, they had been coming at least twice a year for many years and considered many of the other repeat guests to be there friends. We went bed and breakfast which was fine for us, we ate out every night and tried to vary what we had and where we went, prices were similar throughout the resort to within a couple of Lira most mains ranged from 18 for a steak to 24 for swordfish or sea bass (it was then 2.45YTL to the £), dishes varied slightly depending where you went so it was nice to try and not go back to the same place every night. Be adventurous your on holiday !! Many of the bars put on entertainment but once you have seen the show once its a bit boring thats another reason why we moved around and tried to vary the evenings. We don't usually go back to the same place twice but we would use the Navy again if not just for the service and the atmosphere.
Nice but basic
We just returned from the Navy Hotel, the Hotel was very nice but small. The rooms were clean and fresh, but very very small, the room consisted of 2 single beds a dressing table and a wardrope(you could not fit any other furniture in there), the bathroom was about the size of telephone box, but it was clean and fresh. Would I stay there again, probably not, but thats not to say that we had a bad experience, we just found the room very small and basic. The pool and bar were nice and the staff were every so helpful and the proximitey of the hotel was good.
perfect holiday
we have visited turkey for 2 years running. and on both occasions we have stayed at the navy hotel in icmeler.we have no complaints at all with anything there in fact, the staff are always friendly and happy to help at all times.the hotel is always clean and perfect.if there is a special occasion the chef and staff will always try and make it very special for you.the pool and pool bar are just great if there is something that is not on the snack bar menu if you ask the staff they will always try and cook what you require.they are such an honest bunch of staff here that guess what we have already booked to go back again this year for 3 weeks again,we find the perfect time to go is the end of august which we always do.some reviews regarding the pool are quite unbelievable it has always been crystal clear
