Just arrived back- went with husband and 11 year old son.
Fantastic holiday we will be going back. Excellent choice of food catering for all tastes.
The hotel was only 30% full (Mainly with English and American guests) which made it even better no waiting for anything at anytime. Apparantely July, August and September is the quietest period for them. The staff advised it was very busy from November through until May.
The staff are so customer orientated and friendly (we found out they are very low paid) so we were generous on tips and they fully deserved every dollar of them they could not do enough to help. Some of the web sites advise tips are included but not so.
I am usually quite difficult to please but I could not find anything to complain about.
The hotel guest services will try and sell you timeshare with the offer of free massages, trips, rounds of golf etc. Some guest went on the tour just to get the vouchers which is fair enough I think the value of the gift was approximately $300. We didn't want to give up any time and made that clear, so that they did not bother us. Recommended.

got Married in moon Palace stayed for 3 weeks 8-30May 2008
was on Nizuc side flamenco - only 10 mins from airport & theres a big entrance to moon palace some 2-3 miles - so knew this was going to be special - dropped off at Nizuc & straight away bell boys took our bags whilst were met by champagne / sandwiches to book in - the complex was aircon so the hot heat is soon taken away the room is just amazing walk in shower with seat if you have little ones - hot tub - & fridge filled with beer soft drinks - wine & optics also - pls note if you want a sea view then state when checkin in as all is poss at moon palace - we had a big group so we made sure all rooms were adj. pls also note there free wifi so i had the 8mb connection on the go full time
we got there at 3-30 in the afternoon which is quite normal for thompson flights so we went straight to the pool bar where the all inc is awesome - all branded spirits are free ie bacradi smirnoff - xx lager which seems to be the main beer in mexico but ok - coctails - recommend the pink panther - electric lemonade . the pool/infinty pools are endless - also recommended is factor 30 - banana boat from the shop we all burnt like crazy with those 30 sprays & as youll see kids are burnt adults burnt as the sun is far hotter than your tenerifes etc..
the place has so many restaurants your spoilt for choice - nizuc has the buffet / mexican / brazillian / sushi / steak restaurant & the carribean on the night - recommendation is brazillian / steak & caribribean - you then have the golf club - which is WOW - italian & japanese over there - italian def recommened -then you have sunrise - you have italian buffet / chinese / mexican / seafood & steak house - recommened italian buffet for there fillet steak - chinese - seafoon & steak - mexican restaurant is no chiqotos - food is very bland & not so sizzling.
to get about is easy - if your on nizuc then a lobby bus runs every few mins & in the middle of drop off is the golf course or you can walk which takes 5 mins easy - as part of moon palace you can get a bus 2 the other 3 hotels on the strip beach palace sun palace & cancun palace - coach pick ups are 12 & 2 - return at 4&6 - we went to cancun palace & beach palace both were g8 food & drink still free - better colour of sea than moon palace but definateley not as good
Wedding - dont be fooled by the free package that is offered - we saw the wedding co-ordinator day 5 - & the free package was not so free - you have to pay for blood test - translation papers - we had 16 guests & the free cake was for 5 ppl -so we paid an etra 80 dollars - horse carriage is another 250 dollars - bridesmaid flowers anything from 60 dollars - mens flower 40 dollar a pop - then photos - well worthwhile getting the large album at some 600 dollars you get all negatives on a disc some 160 photos - we spent around 500 pounds all togetther which was charged to our room & have to say everything was perfect & a hell of alot cheaper than home - ceremony was also no pressure which made the day so much more enjoyable
beach is long & beautiful - sea is not so clear as the hotels in Cancun but still very nice - waiter service is all day long so you can sit relax & drink. saw the odd bit of seaweed but was collected by hotel in the morning
activities were g8 - whether it was football - beach volleyball - pool volleyball - french balls - the staff keep the show going from 9am - worthwhile going to the michael jackson show on surise once a week - the guy definatley thinks his michael
sunrise - has the biggest pool in cancun - for kids it has slides whcih kept my 4 & 1 year old busy - theres also a nightclub casino amongst all the restaurants - this side is newer but it is busier than nizuc
the staff are just brilliant if you dont like something then guest services will sort it out straight away - like we asked for vodka to the room - they bought within 10 mins - we went to coco bongos 1 night - we ordered room service at 5am - food was there 15 mins - the service was just exceptional
1 trick is do not book with uk operator if you get in touch with moon palace via there web site - they will give you there tour operators number - they said they will save you a fortune as our pound is so strong - not only that - they chuck in all trips like chichen itza / tulum which thompsons were charging thru the roof .

Palace resorts provide you a great vacaction. DO NOT BUY INTO VACATION TIMESHARE PLAN!!!! You will be mislead like we were. Go to the reosrts, eat drink have fun and go home!!!! Service is great, accomodations great but timeshare plan is a scam!!
Promised access to RCI timeshare locations - Have spent two years trying to book trips with no availibility. Told Palace Resorts could only ever hold 4 to a room - so travelling with our 3 sons meant grandparents have to come with - Now Beach Palace is offering family stays with 5 to a room. Beware of the deal and walk away!

The experience was fantastic, Virgin was great, the hotel itself was really nice
BUT
We were offered a membership deal which I STRONGLY ADVICE TO NOT TAKE, paid 5k dollars deposit came back to the uk and decided to cancel the contract, surprise! after 3 months of constant emails offering lower rates etc they finally came back saying they wont give a refund back due to the costs generated for them.
We asked when signing the contracts what happens if we decide to cancel and they said just keep in touch and that it wont happen.. they never advised this option that no refund was going to take place after 3 months constant communication... this is called FRAUD and we are still fighting for it
I would not recommend this place unless you ignore the sales staff including the tours and spa services they offer...

This was without a doubt the most fantastic holiday I have ever had. There are loads of fab hotels in Mexico but this is the best. It costs more but is well worth it. I got married at the Moon Palace and the day and the whole fortnight were absolutely perfect. As soon as we got off the coach the service was 5*, with a bell boy quickly taking our baggage from us, and even a glass of champagne while we were waiting to check in!
We stayed on the Nizuc side, which is slightly quieter than Sunrise but we preferred it. There is just so much to do, with beach volleyball, aqua aerobics and whatever other activity you fancy doing available! My friend went to the gym at 6 every morning and said the facilities were amazing. I also used the salon on a few occasions, and it really was just like being at home.
There are 12 fantastic restaurants to choose from, some buffet service and some a la carte, every taste is catered to so you can't go wrong. I recommend the chinese restaurant on the Sunrise side, really nice. There is also a nightclub called Andromeda which was surprisingly good. The resort is huge, but there is a lobby to lobby coach service every 10 minutes to take you from Nizuc to Sunrise, and you will also see people buzzing about on golf carts all the time who are quite happy to give you a lift.
My husband enjoyed the golf course while we were there and said it was amazing, just difficult, you were also warned to watch out for the alligators!
My wedding day was out of this world and pictures are amazing, you cannot beat photos on the beach! All in all a fantastic holiday, well recommended. I'm trying to persuade my new hubby to go back for our 1st anniversary next year, better get saving!

Just got back from the Moon Palace where my husband and I enjoyed our 14th anniversary celebration. The service was stellar and is, I think, the most outstanding aspect of the resort. The staff seemed truly kind and couldn't be more attentive. I would rate the food as somewhat mediocre but one could usually find something to eat. All was kept clean and attention to detail was evident throughout. The only down side was the large number of Europeans who never know when to cover up their unattractive bodies.

What an amazing place. All-inclusive really does mean all-inclusive (including the mini-bar in your room stocked with several optics! And room service at 4am if you want it), the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful and everything about this place is just perfect.
People's comments about the beach not being nice would be more accurately aimed at the sea, which is quite seaweedy. The beach itself is gorgeous.

Just got back two days ago. What a fantastic hotel. No complaints whatsoever. I went with my partner for two weeks. We were entertained everyday.
The room was lovely and clean, we had our laundry picked up from our bed and delivered the next day, hung and ironed. Room service was fast, even the chamber maid paid attention to detail as everyday she left us objects on the corner of the jacuzzi made from two towels e.g. two swans kissing, a handbag (all made from the bath towels).
Food was great and staff fell over themselves to help. We can't wait to go back it really was a superb hotel.
We did get asked by some timeshare people to spend 90 minutes with them one morning and were promised gifts of an 18 hole golf voucher for my partner and an 80 minute head to toe massage for me at the spa. We took this up and wow what a fabulous day of golf and spa even though we didn't take up there offer. The golf itself is worth around £130 and the massage was around £80 and so was worth 90 minutes of chit chat.
I recommend this hotel to anybody, families, couples etc. Can't wait to return.
Adios!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as a result of a friend's recommendation. The hotel is very clean, the staff very attentive and the rooms very plush. It's also very very big!
While we did enjoy the room and food, we personally hated the public areas. The pool was vast and full of people who seemed unable to talk at a reasonable level and shouted loudly, making it far from an oasis of calm.
We switched to the beach instead, where I got eaten alive by sand fly and spent five sleepless nights itching!
We eventually found some reprieve at the golf club pool - still shouting people but a lot less of them!
The restaurants have lovely food and service but their vastness and occupancy levels make the atmosphere reminiscent of sitting in the school canteen at lunchtime ( I should know, I'm a teacher!).
All in all, people who like a lively fun packed holiday will love this, but it was our idea of 'Butlins' in Mexico, being lovers of peace and tranquillity on holiday.
One to put down to experience!

The Moon Palace is a fantastic resort. We loved every minute of the 2 weeks we stayed there.
There are two sides to the resort, one side is predominantly American guests and the other is a mix. What I would say is, make sure you go across to the other side (whichever you are staing on). We didn't bother until the second week as there was plenty to keep us amused on our side, but when we did it was fantastic as it felt like a whole new resort.
All the facilties were brilliant, the room was amazing with a beach view and hot tub in the room. The food was great-I would advise you go for the al la carte restaurants as the buffet style restaurants have similar choices each night-but they are still really tasty and great for a quick dinner before going out in Cancun!
We didn't use the golf course but we did visit the spa and restaurant out at the golf course and both were brilliant!
If I could afford to go every year I would!!

We have been back a week and already want to go again!
The Moon Palace is wonderful - everything you can imagine and more! It is a massive hotel; the lobby takes your breath away when you arrive. Just overall a fantastic hotel, amazing views, clean and spacious rooms, really friendly staff.
The only downside is if you want a nightlife it is a bit far out from Cancun itself - it would cost you about $258 (£10-15) in a taxi.
I would recommend it to anyone and we WILL be going again!

I went to the moon palace with my partner it was amazing, when they say all inclusive they mean all inclusive we didnt have to pay for a thing.
The room are gorgeous, the hotel ground are out of this world, the food choice was, well what can i can mindblowing, something different everyday.
The staff are extremely friendly, they always say hello to you, the room service is brill
I didnt want to come home.
The only down point is it 12miles from anything and the free bus service dont leave the hotel till 12pm and returns at 4pm which is no good if you want a day out.
Anyone who's been here will know this is a 10/10 experience
I cant imagine anyone being unhappy or disappointed from coming here.
