Snezhanka Hotel Reviews
" Very nice! "
Submitted By: PorkinatorThe room we were in was quite cold, with the 1 radiator being off most of the time. However, the water was nearly always hot, so a long bath after skiing was always possible.
The staff were very pleasant and happy to help. However, this was a honeymoon for me and my wife and despite dropping this into conversation several times we weren't offered an upgrade (shouldn't have been expected, but Thomson told us this was available). Also the 'double' room was basically 2 single beds pushed together, which made for slightly uncomfortable sleeping.
Booking on a half-board basis meant that Breakfast and Dinner was free and a huge buffet was laid out, with food replenished regularly. There was a decent choice on offer even if some of it was questionable (maybe it's just my apprehension to trying the local food).
The lobby bar was very nice and cosy with a log fire burning in the evening, several comfy couches to sit on and 2 large TV's.
Best of all, the shuttle buses that took you to the nearest slopes (only 10 minutes away) started outside the hotel so you were always guaranteed a seat and ran every 15 minutes.
The pool was basic, but usually empty, meaning a good swimming session was nearly always an option. The only down side was that you needed flip-flops to wear around the outside of the pool otherwise you weren't allowed in.
The hotel was within walking distance of the supermarket as well as several restaurants and pubs, a bowling alley, a couple of nightclubs, ATM's and change facilities.
We will be booking again for next Feb!
Advice: Great for a cheap skiing holiday.
Activities: Chanove 2 (The Belfry 2) was a great restaurant, very friendly and funny owner.
Good for: Ski
" 4* Snezhanka "
Submitted By: BoardCrazyFirstly the apartment was far better than expected. Brand new, excellent facilities and huge! The views over the Snezhanka peak were fantastic and the facilities in the hotel are great. Try finding a hotel in the Alps with a pool this nice.
The resort is very picturesque with some beautiful tree runs and while it is suited to beginners I was more than able to challenge myself on the mountain and put my 20+ yrs of experience to the test on occasion. My friends who were beginners loved the ski school and have an invite back to Plovdiv to visit their instructor!
Nightlife is as lively as you want to make it and, if you stick to the local delicacies, the restaurants serve some tasty bargains.
Thoroughly recommend the hotel and resort and if you're looking for something a bit different there's a whole new world around the resort to satisfy the wanderlust.
We're booked in for next year!
Advice: Beautiful resort with so much more to offer than the those in the Alps.
Activities: Try the dog sledding.

The local shops were good and I purchased quite a lot.
Didn’t go to the pool because you weren’t allowed in without flip flops.
Local Italian was very nice, I ate out of there most nights.
I went to some folk night - it was stomach churning!
The bar underneath the hotel was nice and we went there most nights.

Submitted By: E EdwardsAs this was my first time skiing, I was very impressed with the facilities, especially for the price we paid. The food in the hotel was very good, with a variety of choice in the morning, toast, bacon, sausages, eggs, continental etc. Evening meals were also provided a variety of choice, including local specialities.
Staff were okay, but not particularly friendly.
Rooms were always very clean.
Hotel atmosphere was nice, as the bar area had an open fire burning.
A few good bars and restaurants locally, although we tended to remain in our hotel most evenings.
Very nice pool area, for relaxing in the late afternoons.
The local ski school was excellent, it is well worth paying for a ski instructor for the week.

The skiing - what it's all about!! Fantastic. Went to Austria last year - ice - horrid. Pamporovo - lots of snow from previous weeks downfall, lovely and soft - powder most of the week except early in the mornings until the sun was up. Scenery - absolutely awesome, one the of the most beatuiful places we have been to. Couldn't fault the management of the ski slopes either, at the end of each day, slopes were smoothed over ready for the next day. Can't comment on snow cannons - they weren't required.
The food on the mountain was excellent, but as with other reviews shop about, don't just follow your instructor, ours wanted to take us to the most expensive 'truck stop' each day, and you may have to be prepared to pay to use the loo!
My husband is a first time skier, and he loved it, and would go back again. Certainly great for beginners and intermediate skiers. The blacks are limited though for advanced skiers.
Advice: Watch out for the bell sellers - they
