I stayed at this 5 star hotel and thought it was lovely,Yes your room is warm but just open your door, 5min of that being opened and you wont be hot anymore,,the steam room and masseges are great after a day on the slops, the swimming is a bit cold, there was myself and my son of 14 and his girlfriend staying at the hotel,we could not thought the food, none of us got ill,yet alot of people we got friendly with who was staying at other Hotel`s said the food made then ill and had to eat at other places, the maids are very nice but i do have to say the Bar staff and the staff that stay at the front of the hotel all day are not nice at all,i think they all went to the same charm school, apart from some of the staff overall we had a lovely stay at the hotel.our rooms was cleaned every day, clean towels every day, great mini bar in your room,if i was to go back to pamporovo i would stay at this hotel.

Certainly not a five star hotel by British standards! Beds very uncomfortable but I suppose you get what you pay for. Staff on the whole are miserable. Don't expect great food, it's below average in my opinion. Drinks in hotel are expensive too, a word of warning, make sure you get a receipt before you pay as we were overcharged more than once, including at the white hart bar down the road. There isn't any entertainment in the hotel apart from a piano bar, so if you have children there's always a pool table and a small games room across the road at the perilick.
On the plus side our Thompson rep Dionis was excellent, lovely person and our snow board instructor Damien was the best, can't fault him at all, we had a lovely evening when he took us out of grotty Pamporovo to his home village for a meal.
P.S God help you if you don't leave a tip for the waitress in the white hart, she has to be the rudess most miserable person to have ever crossed my path!
Would rather find the extra money to go to another country next time.

" Having just returned from our holiday... "

Having just returned from our holiday I'd like to give people a more up to date review of the Orlovetz Hotel. Our rooms were hot, large and clean and no complaints about the view which was absolutely fantastic from the balcony.
The Spa on the bottom floor is also top notch with everything you need to unwind from a day on the slopes, but be warned the pool is absolutely freezing. I have no idea why but believe me 5mins in the pool and you'll be shivering. Totally recommend the massage 28 Lev works out about £10 and is absolutely great.
So far everything great, wrong get to the restaurant, now I'm not usually fussy but the food in the hotel is very poor quality food that does not cater for its 5 star standard. Poor quality chicken legs and cold food is the dish of the day for the Orlovetz Hotel Restaurant. Towards the end of the week our party just ate out as the food was cold and unappealing. So if you can get it cheaper as room only and eat out believe me when I say your not missing much.
If and when you get sick of the hotel food try the Italian Restaurant in the Perliex Hotel across the Street and the White Hart down the road or if you fancy a bit of craic and a pizza try Daks at Snezhanka again across the street.

I have stayed in Orlovetz on a number of ocasions during the year both in high and Low season.
It is a very modern and classy Hotel. I often recommend this Hotel to friends and clients.
The rooms and the leisure facilities are second to none. Very welcoming staff and a well run hotel.

" We arrived in the early hours of... "

We arrived in the early hours of Christmas Eve and were told that they had kept the restaurant open for us; very considerate considering the restaurant normally finishes at 10pm.
We we're given the swipe cards for the room and promptly headed for bed after what felt like a long journey.
The rooms were immaculate and ultra modern. In the morning we looked out to see what the view was like and were greeted by a winter wonderland scene of rolling hills covered in pines and lucky for us some snow!!!
The First Choice rep Barney (a fountain of information and a great guy) told us that it had only just snowed the day before we arrived. This was just enough snow to last for the holiday and to learn to ski.
The rest of the staff in the hotel were friendly especially the bar staff in the Piano bar who we really enjoyed talking to and were again a fountain of information about Bulgaria.
The Christmas Gala dinner was lovely, the staff went to a lot of trouble to make sure the evening went well. There was enough good quality wine on the table to sink a battleship and the food was superb!
As a vegetarian every course was excellent and not much was left afterwards! My partner also enjoyed the meat version of the meal.
The entertainment mixed traditional Bulgarian dances with a bit of Latin and Greek and there was a magician to keep us all entertained (apart from the children who would rather play on some sort of computer gadget - I guess kids are harder to please these days!).
The breakfasts in the hotel were the only weak point with lots of cocktail sausages and fried bread. The queue to get toast in the morning was a bit of a nightmare, with many guests not having any concept of queuing!!
The Spa facilities were great and after a chilly day skiing, the Sauna and Steam room were a very welcome sight.
Overall a lovely hotel, helpful staff and would recommend to those visiting Pamporovo.
A note on the resort though, there needs to be better maintenance of the ski runs during the summer, with little snow about we often found ourselves skiing on bedrock and over small trees that were sticking out.
There are also a lot of new hotels being built and I fear that the ski resort may quickly become overcrowded unless the runs are made wider.
