We have just returned from here this morning, the hotel is clean, most of the staff are friendly, the pool is small, but the hotel is aimed at the German/Danish market, it is marketed there as a 18 -30s hotel, so be prepared for noise, lots of parties, and not a lot of... more

We booked this hotel on the Internet recently & have to say it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. First of all we found it full of German teenagers who took great delight in running up & down the corridors shouting & screaming from 2.00am till about 7.00am. Also we... more

Web info looked great and all inclusive sounded magnificent, shame it doesn't live up to the hype. Read below. Hotel was probably a star and a half but not 3 star. Reception was clean and the staff were multi lingual which was very helpful. Pool was freezing. Poolside bar... more

We originally booked to stay at the Luna Park hotel, but after spending just one night there where we were kept awake by gangs of young Germans partying all night long, running up and down the corridors, slamming doors and being generally annoying, we complained, asked to... more

This holiday was our honeymoon and we were greatly disappointed! The food was not acceptable it catered entirely for the german tourists, the only best bit of the menu was the fresh fruit. Our holiday cost us a lot of money for what it was! We ate out 3/4 of the time and we... more

very relaxing hol
just back from week at this hotel and had the most relaxing holiday ever as the towels do not get put on sunbeds till 10.00 o clock which was great, there was very peacefull tree area near pool with more sunbeds. The food was delicious and well cooked with plenty variety and plenty tables. The rooms were small but very clean and the staff were extremely helpful. Mostly Germans and Dutch with a few British but hotel caters for all. Plenty shops near also two minuets from weekly market. It is situated on a steep hill about half way up. this was fine by myself but not anyone with walking difficulties. walking down to beach takes about 3 mins walking up takes longer, This is a very good value hotel.
top hotel for cheap price
stayed for a week in june with my partner , arrived at midnight and was checked in instantly as was the air con activated. They even layed on a dinner for us if we wanted it which at that time of night I thought was a nice touch. The rooms are quite compact but spotlessly clean and as you're only sleeping and getting changed there ,what's the problem? The pool is small but if you fancied a swim then you had full use of the sister hotel whose pool was bigger or why not visit the gorgeous beach which was a couple of minutes walk away. A lot of people seem to complain that the food was german orientated and though the guests were mainly german I found the food to be very diverse eg pasta ,calamari ,tons of salad and the fish was particularly delicious and I not once noticed any food being recycled from the previous sitting. As i was all inclusive I felt obliged to make full use of the free bars ,the cocktails in particular went down very well.I have stayed at many other hotels of higher ratings and not once found the staff as polite and helpful as here, all in all a great budget holiday
Good value for money
We stayed in the hotel for one week in April. On arrival,check-in was very fast and friendly. Although the rooms are small they are perfectly adequate, after all a holiday is not spent sitting in a bedroom! We found the staff very friendly and helpful, especially the bar staff. The rooms were cleaned every day and towels etc changed daily. The food was O.K. and we certainly didn't go hungry. There was little entertainment but we made our own, socialising with other guests who were great fun! The pool was quite small but there was plenty of room to sunbathe, and the weather was fantastic! Arenal is a lovely, clean resort. The beach is spotless too. Having travelled abroad several times I would strongly recommend this hotel for budget holidays and would definitely return . Andy and Jane,Stoke.

went for 1 week in april, a good fantastic atmosphere as it was a small hotel, so you was able to mix altogether. we met some fantastic people, brian and sandra from wales and jane and andy from stoke. food was a 3* rating no complaints all fresh. staff were friendly and nice also the entertainment was good. the only down side was queing at the bar and also for it closing at 23.00. lovely beach to walk along and a beauiful harbour, there are plenty of shops if you like shopping. the only problem are the street traders who will try and sell you anything. are thinking about going again! andy and lorraine from birmingham
Holiday nightmare
Hotel was clean Room was small Bathroom even smaller and smelly Food was basic but o k No entertainment at night Watch your money mine disappered from my room (They did leave my purse but that was empty )Room was locked at this timeManager staff unhelpfull and Implayed that I was Lying All in All this was a very horrible time THankfuly it was only for 4 days Save your money and go anywhere in Arenal but not this hotel
Awful, awful hotel
We decided to book a cheap all inclusive getaway as we'd had a brilliant experience the year before in Lanzarote. This hotel is the worst we've ever stayed at. The bar was part of the reception area and was always full of smoke, as well as children running around as they had nothing else to do. All the drinks, including hot ones, were served in plastic cups. On the plus side the food was ok, unless you're a veggie, but that's usually the case. The rooms were clean, but were very small, and the walls were very thin, you could hear every argument! Oh, and the hotel must hold around three hundred people, I'd like to see them getting round the pool! On top of this, the resort was appalling, the only saving grace was that Palma was a 40 minute bus journey away, so it gave us something to do. By far the worst hotel and holiday I've ever had, so much so we paid extra to come home early!
great value for money
There are mixed reviews on this hotel but I can honestly say we had a very positive experience at this hotel. We went all-inclusive and had family rooms over the Easter break. The weather was poor but we could not fault the hotel. The room was very clean; the food, varied and fresh. The staff were helpful and friendly when people were polite and showed them the respect they deserved. What annoyed us most was the fact that some hotel guests were rude and disrespectful to staff who were doing a good job. It is a smaller hotel but if you want a livelier experience, you can visit the Luna Park Hotel and use their facilities- but that did not appeal to us and our kids as much as the more personal approach at the isla dorada. There is not a lot of seating in the bar at night so get your seat early, and there wasn't nightly entertainment (that could be because it wasn't high season) but it did not spoil our experience at all. The hotel is minutes away from a great beach! Would happily revisit the hotel again without reservation.
Not a Family Hotel! Do not take children
Have never written a review but having just returned from this hotel felt i needed to let others know that it really is not a family place.Myself and my partner went on a break away from the kids and if i had taken them we would of had to change hotel. The main problem would be the lager lout scene and young drinking parties..walls are paper thin you hear everything and i was scared in my room with some of the incidents going on.Regular banging shouting.police being called out and general trouble. In the day the hotel was quite differnt but the pool is tiny.Pool bar only serve hot dog hamburger or sandwich. The only place you can get a coffee is a machine in reception, plastic cups and do not serve tea.Machine was often broken. No kettles in room and DO take an iron as there are no facilities and not possible to hire one. There is a charge of 3 euro for sauna or jacuzzi and the gym was very very poor.Unusable.Rooms are outdated and very very small. Not at all a 3 star hotel. The hotel is clean but far too small for the amount of guests. Now for the food.Very limited choice and not warm.Everyone in hotel complaining. One couple spent holiday cost again eating out every night. It really was terrible.I would recomend staying somewhere else and not waste your money.
Would Recommend but more for Couples
I booked this hotel for myself and my girlfriend from october 15th - october 22nd. the hotel is small but as it was coming to the end of the season it wasn't too packed which was good for us. i enjoyed my stay here, our room had a lovely sea view. the pool was small but the hotel up the road which belongs to the same chain as this one had a much bigger one and as long as you were all inclusive you could use all their facilities as well. The staff were very friendly and would go out of their way to help you. the only thing that didnt appeal to me was the food but that is because i am a fussy eater, my girlfriend loved it, fresh salads, pasta etc. i settled for eating out at either the sportsmans bar on the front (beautiful food) or at the restaurant next to the hotel which sells a variety of things like steak, burgers and pizzas at a very cheap price. Overall for the price that we paid (£480 for 2 people all inclusive including flights and transfers) i think that we got a bargain. I would recommend this hotel more for couples and not really for people with children as there isn't too much for them to do. One other thing you may need to do is learn to speak german as there was a ratio of 4-1 and four being the germans in this hotel.
lovely hotel great location
Booked the holiday 4 days before departing via teletext. Had a great deal for myself , husband and two children who are 6 and 2. First impressions when we arrived at reception were that it was a very small hotel, however when we arrived at our room it was one of the largest they had and we were very impressed. The only place we have stayed in that had a larger room was Florida ! We were overlooking the pool which was not the bigest but exceptionally clean as was the whole hotel. The staff were very friendly as long as you were polite and made an effort to speak to them( which is something I dont think they were very used too ! )They adored our 2 children which was lovely as they really made them feel welcome. It has an excellent location, 2 minutes from the marina and 5 mins from the beach. The beach was stunning and there were lots of small shops and bars which you could walk along around the beach front. The entertainment is not great , but very good fun. Luciano who does all the entertainment works very hard and does make a great difference to the hotel and atmosphere. My daughter who is 2 adored him ! Food was lovely although a bit repetative but the kids enjoyed, lots of pasta, chips and hotdogs and ice cream. The only problem we had was while we were there alot of German teenagers arrived looking for a good time and it was very noisy about 6 in the morning when they returned from clubbing. After several complaints from different floors, this was sorted out and they were warned. This did not put us off as this could have happened anywhere. The overall resort is very focused on German and European, only 4 British bars to be found. However, this was not a problem and was a refreshing change to mix with differen people with different customs. All children mix , no language barrier there. If you are prepared to mix with other Nationalities you will love it. Excellent value for money.Would definatly recommend both resort and Hotel.
