Victoria Hotel

We went to this hotel after reading reviews on this site and im really glad we did. I travelled with my wife for a 6 night break. We booked the hotel and flights separate using late rooms and air malta. We were placed in the older rooms in the hotel, and though it will be done up in the near future it did not spoil our time there. The staff were 100% helpful and friendly. We could not ask for more. We have stayed at The Victoria Hotel on many occasions and find it is a delight to be there. We actually stay in The Capua Palace which all are suites and located just next door to The Victoria and owned by them, it is just beautiful in fact we have looked in many hotel suites on the island and I have to say these are definately the best. The whole staff are just lovely and cannot do enough for you. The food is great and if there is something you want just ask and it is done for you. I stayed in the Hotel for 3 nights during a conference.The hotel is what you can expect from a 4 star hotel. The room was large and clean and the bed was comfortable. The toilet was ok, although a little bit old. Because I was attending a conference I had lunch in the hotel and the food was very good, very tasteful. Staff was very friendly. The only less positive points were: the noisy air conditioner and the internet access is very expensive.

We stayed at the Victoria from 14/10 to 24/10/2007 and, well, we didn't want to come home. The food was fantastic with as much as you wanted to eat. Approximately ten dishes of different salad starters, soup, fish, carvery, meat in a gravy or sauce and vegetables. Then a fantastic selection of sweets and cheese & biscuits. We stayed at the Victoria from the 12-17 October 2007. On the positive side the staff were great, lobby very accepable and downstairs bar very nice. We found the rooms slightly run down (clean) the beds were very comfortable. Our air-con never worked (despite our complaints), the elevators (both) were out of service one day and one elevator was out of service for four of the five days. This hotel is in the best city of the Malta, Sliema. It is close to every where. There are buses very close by that take you to every city. If you walk 4-5 minutes you will get to a beach which is right in front of the bus stops. I don’t think any of Malta's beaches is sandy but they are picturesque. The staff is very courteous. It is very clean and quiet. you can walk to St. Juliens along a beautiful board walk and see the beautiful Mediterranean sea in the mean time.

We stayed at the Victoria Hotel in Sliema a couple of weeks ago and I would highly recommend it. Our room was large and very clean with a balcony (though it didn't have much of a view and was near a building site) but our stay was very enjoyable nonetheless. The rooftop swimming pool was open, though they are still completing renovations, and there is a small bar, though it mysteriously charges more than the downstairs bar. My first trip to Malta in Sept 06 was spent at the Victoria in Sliema. The staff are very professional and cordial. The furnishings in the lobby are very pleasant. The rooms are equipped well, and my room had a balcony (I assume all the rooms have this as well). The breakfast buffet is excellent. It is only a 10 minute walk to the water from the hotel. I thought it was a great value for the amenities and location. Would definitely stay there the next time I come to Malta.

We stayed at the Victoria for 4 nights, and found the hotel to be clean, well maintained, and perfectly located for getting around the key parts of the island. The bedrooms were well sized, with everything you'd expect from a hotel of this standard, and we had a balcony (which not all the rooms have, so better to ask...). We have just returned from 2 weeks in Malta. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel which is in a residential part of Sliema. The hotel is undergoing some refurbishment at present which meant that the roof top pool and bar were out of use. There is also a new hotel being built next door. The location was very good, quiet but within a 10 minute walk of both the ferry to Valetta and to Tower Road. We asked for a quiet room so that we would not be disturbed and Mario on Reception ensured that the room we were allocated was in a quiet part... more
