Great hotel
from DavidODWilliams
We stayed in the Palarine for about 10 days in late November just before ski season really began so whole of Andorra very quiet. Hotel is perfectly located 5 mins from the ski areas of Pal and Arinsal but a safe 5 mins from the overcrowded centre of Arinsal and also only 5 mins from Andorra La Vella, La Massana and Ordino if you need a change of scene. The hotel is owned and run in a very friendly and professional way by one young British/Chinese couple (Graham and Maria), assisted by another one + a Chinese cook so the restaurant(s) has a great array of European and Chinese food (+ big English Sunday roasts/Chinese buffets on alternate Sundays). The rooms are very good, comfortable, spacious, some with v nice views. Good breakfast buffet every day. Good free wifi connection. Very friendly, lively atmosphere in the bar every night. Plenty of advice and help with any problems you might have. Finally, it is incredible value for money (E25 for single w/ breakfast; E45 for double w/ breakfast when we were there).
Pleasant, comfortable and great value

I stayed at the Hotel Palarine on a 2 week self organized skiing trip to Andorra in January 2008. The Hotel came highly recommended by friends. I’d firstly like to say that the staff were fantastic; very friendly and helpful. The hotel is ideally located between La Massana and Arinsal. This gives good access to both Arinsal and Pal ski resorts, and the Arcalis resort is nearby too. There’s a pleasant walk into Arinsal where there is pleanty of nightlife and pubs to choose from. The Palarine has an authentic Chinese restaurant, with two Chinese chefs. There is a good selection of main courses and bar snacks to choose from, with a Chinese or English roast buffet on the weekend. The Bar has a great atmosphere, with various things on during the week, including live music and of course, happy hour! :-) There’s a large log fire too, making it an ideal place to relax after a hard days skiing. Free WiFi is a nice convenient touch. The room was quiet, clean and a good size, equipped with all the basic facilities including satellite tv and well a equipped bathroom. The room was made up for us everyday while we were out. We didn’t experience any problems during our stay, and would highly recommend staying at the Palarine, to anyone looking for comfortable and good value place to stay. Hoping to go back in the summer to do some mountain hiking!
very happy with the palarine

firstly the food in this hotel was excellent, the breakfasts were hot and cold food and varied, and the dinners were also mixed to suit everybody, we did not need to eat anywhere else during our stay. the bar was nice and cosy and had a happyhour offering two drinks for the price of one. There was also a large open fire lit when you arrived in from skiing. The room was small and compact and was two single beds pushed together for a double room. the telly had only two english channels. the view from our room was fab. There was one major downfall and that was the noise levels. There was a nightclub across the street and this stayed open later then four on some nights. You could hear the music from it very loudly. being on the first floor you could also hear every noise in the hotel. Some noise is expected when on holidays in a hotel, but this kept you awake all night some nights. staff were friendly and we had a brilliant time in andorra skiing. this hotel was perfect apart from the noise problem.
Not exactly paradise

Me and my husband recently stayed in Palarine hotel. Accommodation basic but nicely located seems to be good value for money. The place is clean and stylish with elegant restaurant and bar with fireplace. Unfortunately their hotel description says that there is Sat TV in every room. There was no satellite TV in our room and there was just one British channel (BBC World) among only five non English available. On the day of departure we were promised to receive some take away food, as we had to live the hotel at 4am. In the morning a group of 18 people was waiting in the darkness at reception - no food was prepared, no hotel staff even bothered to show up!!! It's a shame management doesn't care about you till the end of your stay.
fantastic Palerine

Just got back from a fantastic stay at the Hotel Palarine. What can I say about this hotel. Well, the food is fantastic, starting in the morning I had expected a cold continental breakfast, but when we got into the dining room there was a fab cooked full english breakfast, perfect for charging up the energy levels for the slopes. Evening meals were fab and varied every single night. We had intended (before we went) on eating out a few nights but there was no point as the food was just so lovely. The staff...it has already been mentioned about how friendly the staff are and that's spot on. The staff are fantastic, genuine and friendly. I couldn't believe how smoothly the whole place runs, it's fantastic. Our room was small, but spotlessly clean and tidy, maid service every day without fail, double bed, power shower, tv, don't need anything else. Bar is cosy and relaxed. Yes the hotel is a walk away from the main centre but there is a free ski bus which runs every 15 minutes in the mornings and afternoons, 4 or 5 minutes to gondola on bus. There is a pay bus in the nighttime which only costs 90 cents. The upsight of being away from the main centre is that there is no slamming club downstairs, blaring music all nite. The other good thing is the hotel is well situated to go into Pal skiing area, which is in the opposite direction to Arinsal, about the same 5 minute bus ride if the ski link is not open. DO NOT miss skiing in Pal, it is more challenging for advanced skiers with some interesting reds, and some nice gentle runs for beginners which are easier, longer and more interesting than Arinsal, your lift pass will cover Pal so do not miss going, it is more beautiful and even better than Arinsal in my opinion. This hotel is perfect for families, there is a Playstation for the kids and 2 internet ports for anyone to use. I have been to mad bad Pas de la casa with a gang of lads on a mad week, believe me you would not EVER want to take your family to Pas de la casa!! There are 8 million stag parties in Pas de la casa, I went with a group of ex squaddies and it was mental! If you want to take your family skiing to Andorra this hotel is perfect. Or if you are a couple who want good food in a friendly hotel in a relaxed atmosphere, this is an ideal hotel. We loved it, we also enjoyed hearing how bad the food was in some of the other (more expensive) hotels by people we met on the slopes. Palarine was fab, the hotel is a gem, gutted I'm home!
Friendly staff,excellent service

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Palarine Hotel. Clean and comfortable hotel serving excellent food (half board basis) prepared by chef Liu Shuo. The food served in the Chinese restaurant is also excellent. Plenty of time was spent in the bar which is run by Stuart (the best barman in Andorra) . All the staff could not do enough to help with any query. Hats off to Graham and Maria for running a superb hotel. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
Lovely Place, Lovely People

Just had a weeks ski holiday in Andorra with family during February half term. The Hotel Palarine is a fantastic base to explore the surrounding ski resorts of Arinsal, Pal and Arcalis. The food is fanatastic (full english buffet in mornings and numerous tasty dishes at evening buffet meal) the bedrooms are very comfortable with power shower, TV with some sky channels. The whole set up of the hotel lends itself to an amazing relaxing fun holiday. The bar offers chinese meals should you wish to opt out of your evening meal (well worth a try - food is beautiful and plentiful) the atmosphere is perfect after a days skiing with the mood changing throughout the night (apres ski comedy to football and music) . The bar has live music once a week which is ideal for a sing a long or relax next to the open fire after a hard days skiiing. All staff are so friendly and helpful and whilst talking to other holidaymakers found people of the same opinion that they had never been to a more friendly hotel where all guests and staff were like one big happy family.
Palarine Paradise

Words are not enough to describe the friendly, caring, thoughtful people who run this hotel. But here is our review to try. We booked a late package ski deal to the Palarine a few years back and because it was so good we have stayed in the Palarine at least 2 to 3 times a year for the last few years as a couple. This time we booked a group of 9 into the accommodation during Feb half term. Yet again we were not disappointed as the Palarine and its staff proved to the rest of the group why we keep on returning. Meals were fanatastic and the hearty breakfast set us up for the rest of the day. Bedrooms are ideal for all size of parties (we were 2 couples and 5 lads ranging from 15 to 23)and the whole hotel is immaculately clean. The relaxed friendly bar is great to chat away to fellow skiers after a fantastic evening meal. It offers an array of bottled beers from all over the world. There is also local and english draught beers and the bar staff are hard working and good fun. Perfect!! Maria cooks a mean chinese meal for anyone who is looking for something a bit different as the bar offers chinese meals a few nights per week. Graham whilst looking laid back at the end of the bar works hard to make sure that everyone is looked after and feels welcome and relaxed. Nothing is a problem for these people. They will do anything for you. A fantastic base for a fantastic holiday made possible by fantastic people. Thank You Hotel Palarine. Look forward to returning soon.
Hotel Pallarine-a gem

Our party of ten 'happened upon' this hotel on New Years night, when we couldn't get into a restaurant in Arinsal& decided to take a bus into La Massana. We were bowled over by the friendliness of the staff, and we enjoyed a great value 'International buffet' with drinks-all for 100 euro!! Everyone was so friendly, and the residents there all seemed to be part of 1 big happy family! When the owner (Stuart)heard we had travelled down form Arinsal, he left us home in his own car(2 trips!!), rather than calling and waiting for a taxi!! If anyone is going to Andorra, try this hotel, it's at -----. Thanks Stuart, for the great service

On arrival we were given a room facing the road. The room was cold and noisy. Before unpacking we asked to be swapped to the other side of the hotel. We were offered another room immediately. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. There was a choice of full... more
