This is not a 5 star hotel. The views are fantastic. The snorkelling is briliant but the hotel is very poor. Food is below average and if you want to be ill, it wont take long. Rooms are clean and spacious but no bath. Beach towels were stained and dirty. If you like... more

Just returned from the baron resort last week and have to say it was a major disapointment. As it was our honeymoon, we had let thomas cook know, and had requested a sea/pool view and maybe hoped for a few little extras being a special time for us. We arrived to a room with... more

Great Beach, Nice Room, Mixed Service, Okay Food
The beach and diving/snorkeling at the Baron Resort are great. It has a long sand beach, with plenty of beach chairs, and a long floating pier to great snorkeling/diving. The beach area is well staffed and kept clean. (Many places at Sharm do not have beaches.) The room was spacious, with a nice balcony and sea-view. The furnishings and bathroom were definitely 4 star (vice the 5 star the hotel advertizes at the front desk). They were not bad, but not 5 star. The service was mixed. The reception desk staff was excellent and... more
Superb
We've been to Baron Resort 4 times and plan to go again next year to celebrate a couple of BIG birthdays! You could not beat the location. It is about a 20 minute drive from Naama Bay, so nice and peaceful and relaxing. The hotel is directly on the beach, with a 100m pontoon leading out to the coral reef. The hotel is spotless, the staff cannot do enough for you from the moment you arrive to the time you leave. The food is excellent, so much to choose from, with Indian, Fish, Egyptian and Buffet Restaurants. An absolute must... more
What a place.
The Baron is an excellent hotel, if anyone can find faults within the whole hotel they must be hard to please. From the manager who comes round every day and talks to you to the gardeners who keep the gardens perfect you just cannot fault the place, it's spottlessly clean where ever you go. Food was very good, no upset tummys, room was big and the view from our balcony, WOW!!! The sun was there everyday for us, the dive school just outside on the beach was great, had a dive from the hotels jetty to another fishy world under... more
Been twice, Going again
My wife and I first visited the Baron resort in March 2005 and we loved it, peaceful, clean excellent service, several restaurants to choose from. We loved the Indian Restaurant on the beach, the Italian does great pasta & pizzas. Lots of choice in the main restaurant. Plenty to look at in the local shops on or near the hotel. The rooms are clean, in fact the staff never stop cleaning in all areas of the hotel. The manager walks around the resort ensuring everyone is happy. The Pool staff are very helpful and the snack bar at the... more

Baron Hotel - The best
This is our first time in Egypt and so many people warned us about the food and water and also their experiances when they stayed. Dpn't listen to them, not all hotels are the same. We stayed at the Baron Hotel and I have to say. what a great hotel, you get treated like royalty. There is so much to do here as well, you can relax by the main pool or if you want to have a even more quite relaxing time try the sea pool, or take a moonlit walk along the beach, you can even hire bikes and scooters. We stayed at the hotel only as half board... more
A fantastic honeymoon
You do wonder what hotel the bad reviewers really went to - this place is fantastic. Service is second to none, the Indian restaurant is excellent, the pool is huge and the snorkelling is like being in a completely different world. No one seems to have mentioned the fish restaurant from which the menu is whatever's been caught that day and laid out for selection - you just point at what you want and it's barbequed for your pleasure - prawns an inch thick (width not length!), snapper, squid, crab, and much more . The indian is lovely too... more
Amazing
We have just returned from one week in the Baron Resort, (send visit this year). We are already booked again for February 07. The hotel is excellent, service and staff were some of the best I have experienced. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms great size, beautiful bed linens and cleanliness is excellent. I would recommend this hotel to both families and couples. There were a lot of Russian guests but on the whole they were "okay". Food was very good lots of choice and some excellent on site restaurants. The Hotel's coral reef was much... more
Best Hotel
This hotel is fantastic. We first stayed at it in 2005 and chose it because of the excellent reviews and the added bonus of being able to snorkel straight from the pontoon off the hotel's private beach. We were amazed by the standard of service and were not disappointed by the snorkeling. We loved it so much that we went back in May this year and found it even better, which we thought impossible. The management constantly check that everything is as guests like it and ask for any suggestions on improving the hotel and service. We could... more
