The Tropicmar Apartments are modern and well maintained and are enjoyed by couples who like everything close to hand. The sandy beach is just 100 metres away and there are lots of local cafes, bars and restaurants within 100 metres. One and two bedroomed apartments include kitchenette with cooking rings, mini oven/grill, fridge, bathroom with shower over bath and wc. Some apartments have glazed balconies

First time visit to Benidorm with my partner and 2 children, plus 10 other family and friends, the tropic-mar apartments were not up to scratch at all, and the hill was terrible, I have metal pins in one of my legs and it caused me alot of aching all the week we was there.

My dad had to keep stopping to get his breathe back as he found it hard trekking up the hill, the apartments were not very clean, the towels and bedding had seen better days, and the staff were sometimes very ignorant, the female staff where however very helpful and pleasant but the male staff made you feel you was putting them out by asking anything, the view from the room was very nice but all views in Benidorm are nice, and most apartment blocks are very high.

Best thing about the holiday was the fact that most people there are English or speak very good English and the bars and cafes are all excellent, Yorkshire pride must be the best place to eat and very reasonable as well, I will be going back in Jan/06 because I fell in love with Benidorm but not the tropic-mar apartments.

I would definitely recommend the tropic mar to everyone. It was clean and tidy and the staff all spoke fluent English and Spanish.

They were all extremely helpful especially the receptionist who has an amazing sense of humour and adores kids!

The Tropicmar apartments are clean, relaxing and situated very close to the beach.

There is a hill of approx 120 mts to get to the apartments which for most people would not be a problem--we were near loads of shops and most of the Levante area was in walking distance.

The staff and security was to a high standard and very helpful, there were rules in place to everyone which was excellent-because this kept the building clean and secure at all times.

I was on the 20th floor-----and the view across the bay was probably the best there is in Europe -seriously.

This is the first time I’ve been to Benidorm----there is so much to do for entertainment, and places to eat-its quite unbelievable--prices are not so cheap as it used to be---but definitely cheaper than the UK------- and there is no problem taking children in anywhere----------brilliant.

I went to the tropic mar and Benidorm to be critical and cautious-----but I’ve holidayed in Britain and other places for 20 yrs--------Benidorm and the tropic mar beats the lot hands down.

I have been to Benidorm five times and have to say this was the best place I have stayed at, the rooms where fine with no broken tiles and the shower worked.

The apartment looked like it had been freshly painted. I stayed on the 20th floor which was fine. There was a great breeze coming of the sea, which made it feel like air conditioning.

The lifts where fine too never had a problem with them and the hill, which everyone complained about, was fine unless you have a walking problem. They where basic but clean and the staff where great everyone spoke English and the reason for this was they where English lol.

So if you have booked a holiday at this place don’t worry you will have a great holiday unless you are looking for a place like the Hilton which you cant get in Benidorm and every place will charge you 60 euro deposit.

Just returned from the Tropicmar Apartments and I honestly don’t know what all the fuss is about.

I read the reviews before I left and wasn’t looking forward to my holiday, fortunately they were proved wrong in most cases.

First of all the 60 euro breakage deposit seems to be common practice in Benidorm judging from the people I spoke to, the same applies to the rules about the pool. All the receptionists were very helpful and the welcome was fine (not sure what happened to the list of rules though. oh that’s right we didn’t get any!)

Not sure what the fuss is about the hill, I managed it many times after walking back from the clubs in a bit of a worse for wear state! The only problem I can see is small children even then it isn’t that bad and shouldn’t put you off.

Overall a great apartment block that I wouldn’t hesitate to return to.

Our room[h11] was the worse place I have ever stayed . The patio doors don’t lock the floor tiles are cracked and loose the bathroom has an infestation of ants and the toilet leaks , the day receptionist was unhelpful and has a dislike of kids. There are more rules to adhere to than in a prison, the internal doors had holes kicked in them and the plaster around them was falling off, the bedroom door locks itself due to a faulty handle and the kitchen light was bodged up with insulation tape. To cap it all the smoke detector has no battery in it . On the plus side Benidorm is a great place to holiday there’s lots to do and see , so don’t make the same mistake I did and stay away from the Tropicmar

Don’t go here ! This place was a dump !

The front door of room was about hanging off. The lock had never been oiled. The floor was not swept. The windows were filthy. The curtains didn’t meet so there was light shining through in the morning. Wardrobe doors were hanging off. The maids changed towels once a week and the sheets were changed once too!! One mattress was sat on five loose planks on the bed. The apartment was never cleaned in 14 days including the loo and bathroom..

The only good thing about this place was its location 100m from the beach..

This is supposed to be a two star hotel. The only stars I’d give it are after the letters sh** !!!

The Tropic Mar was a good apartment block in terms of accommodation with large spacious rooms and a great view of the sea however there are some drawbacks to this place. The first being a very steep hill to the apartments which will have to be climbed every day of your holiday.

In our 15 day holiday the sheets and towels were only changes once as was the cleaning which wasn’t up to scratch.

As soon as we arrive and paid our 60 Euros as a breakage deposit refunded on last day if you past the rules. The rules given to you on arrival were very large an comprehensive.

The pool area was very small and therefore could be quite crowded although the beach is only about 100metere away.

There were quite a few single parties on holiday at the same time and the noise and swearing throughout the early hours of the morning was unbearable and we had to complain a few times.

Over all we found the staff unhelpful and felt that really why where holiday makers here? The apartment is shared with Spanish and they seemed to have priority over issues.

If you want somewhere to just put your head down this apartment complex may be ideal for you otherwise steer clear.

The Tropic Mar was a beautiful apartment block in terms of accommodation with large spacious rooms and a great view of the sea however there are some drawbacks to this place.

Don’t stay there if you want to be noisy, it is half full of private Spanish tenants and noise is strictly unwelcome. Also the welcome isn’t exactly brilliant either and the first thing you get is a letter warning you about everything you can’t do. We paid our deposit and were told to come back in two hours and as the hotel doesn’t have a bar we had to trek down a steep hill to get a drink.

In addition to this anyone visiting this accommodation should note that the rooms only get cleaned once a week (and this was only a cursory once over)and if you run out of anything buy it yourself as everything is too much trouble.

You also have to put your own rubbish out and they will not refund your deposit of 50 euros when you are leaving if you fail to do this.

There is a swimming pool in the accommodation but it is only accessed by using the lifts and again they have strict rules - the best one being not to have wet feet in the pool.

Whilst the accommodation was good quality needless rules and regulations and a general feeling that they didn’t actually want holidaymakers staying spoilt the holiday.

I visited the Tropicmar apartments with my partner and 2 children, I picked the right time of year to go. it was perfect and the weather was good, I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and was pleased with the accommodation, and helpful receptionists, only downfall was I had to supply the loo roll! other than that I would definitely recommend these apartments to anybody.

Have just returned from a short break at the Tropicmar Apartments and found our l bedroom apartment to be very cramped and not particularly clean as well as being very basic. What was particularly annoying was the fact that we had to pay on arrival a breakage fee of £50 for our 3 day break, and quite frankly there was nothing of any value to break in the apartment. There were burn marks on the furniture and I had to go to reception to explain that we had not done this in case we lost our refundable fee. The linen was very poor quality and I met people who had felt it necessary to purchase towels for showering, This list of rules was quite unbelievable including putting out your rubbish every day and keeping the apartment clean & tidy. Was I expected to wash the floor every day? All in all it was not an enjoyable experience and the worst apartment I have ever stayed in.

We stayed here for a week last year. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment, as there were 2 adults and 3 children. The apartment was clean and we had maid service to change the sheets once during the week. We were a bit apprehensive when we found we were nearly on the top floor, but I must say the views were wonderful. We did not have any problems at the pool and found the fact we could come and go as we pleased brilliant. The staffs on reception were always pleasant and helpful. The pool was clean and to be quite truthful the only little niggle was the hill to reach the apartments that the children found a chore on a nighttime after we had to drag THEM home. All in all we found our first visit to Benidorm and to the Tropic mar very enjoyable and are looking forward to a return visit this year.

The Tropicmar Apartments themselves are very basic. Because there were 6 of us we were allocated a 2 bedroomed apartment which left 2 of us with the sofa bed in the lounge. It was a squeeze and at times we got frustrated because of the lack of space but we spent very little time actually in the apartments so we thought we got a good deal considering the price. The location of the Tropicmar Apartments is relatively central, with a Mcdonalds at the end of the road. The apartments are located on top of a sloping road though so people may find it difficult to walk up after a night out! They were certainly clean although we had a bit of trouble with our shower. The balcony was adequate however the swimming pool was behind a big wall so it was a race to get the spot in the sun first thing in the morning. The people on reception were grumpy Spanish who banned us from everything and it was like Big Brother was permenantly watching over us in the swimming pool and constantly telling us off over the loud speaker. Some of the Spanish rented out some of these apartments aswell which made us feel a bit out of place and even coming in like church mice at about 7am got us a complaint. Definatly a place for families rather than young one sex groups like us, these groups would prefer a more central, livlier, less grumpy, more fun place to stay but Benidorm itself is fantastic, can't fault it. Have a good holiday! x
