We booked Golden Sands as a last minute thing as our planned holiday to Crete had fallen through. The hotel is very seventies in design and feel, and the public areas are somewhat drab.

The Golden Sands is a very old fashioned hotel.

We stayed for a week and was glad to get home to a proper bath/shower. The bathroom was very small with just a tray for a shower.

An old fashioned hotel with something I have never seen before - a lift shaft that was carpeted all the way around and down!

Friendly staff, and a sort of buffet style breakfast - Greek style, so don’t expect bacon and eggs.
