Golden Sands Hotel Reviews
" The Golden Sands is a very old... "

The Golden Sands is a very old fashioned hotel.
We stayed for a week and was glad to get home to a proper bath/shower. The bathroom was very small with just a tray for a shower.
The rooms were ok very clean and had air conditioning if you paid extra.
The pool was lovely and clean and also very warm. This Hotel is Very nice but could do with updating a bit.

" An old fashioned hotel with something... "

An old fashioned hotel with something I have never seen before - a lift shaft that was carpeted all the way around and down!
Friendly staff, and a sort of buffet style breakfast - Greek style, so don’t expect bacon and eggs.
Hotel was very clean, and it has a nice swimming pool and gardens. Staff spoke English, so there was no problem communicating. Poolside bar does snack meals.

The pool area is excellent and the pool bar serves good tea and coffee.
Hotel rooms are small but have everything you need; just sitting on the balcony of an evening and looking at the world go by was great.
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. St George itself is a dusty flyblown one street / one horse town – great, plenty of bars and restaurants. Mad Mikes is good fun. The Village inn is the pick of the eateries.
Good beaches either side of the hotel, walking up to Argirades (about 45 mins ) is highly recommended. Hiring a scooter or quad is a good idea as there is only one bus a day from St George. The cheapest place is the one at the entrance to hotel, haggle and they will give you discount.
Golden Sands would make a good choice for all except the young and lively.
