Vista Picas Apartments
These apartments are not far from the secluded sandy cove of Cala’n Forcat and are large‚ well-equipped and offer a good standard of accommodation in eight buildings centred around an attractive pool area. Some blocks are located near bars, or the playground with bouncy castles. There is also a children's club.

Well, it was nice weather most days but on the last day it was pouring it down!!! Overall the holiday was OK and the apartment was really nice with 2 bedrooms and 2 toilets. Some shops were shut but most were open. There is plenty of restaurants some better than others! es forno served raw sausages and are not good for the stomach. The Aqua Centre has nice chocolate cake and theres a bouncy castle and water slides there! (although we didnt go in) The buses are punctual but remember to press the red button when wanting to get off as sometimes the driver drives right past where you want to get off! Cala Galdana had the best beach. Calan Forcat is very English and purposely built (hard to find anything spanish) its very hard getting to sleep when located near the blue breeze where people sing their hearts out which closes at 6 ish in the morning. There's constant background music in the day as well. There's 3 burger king near the vista picas handy when you have a late flight and feel like a burger! Asked to check out at 10 am even though collection wasnt until 5. Rooms unavailable to extend (worth bearing in mind!)
In conclusion it was good location as it was close to beach shops restaurants etc also good value for money. If you want a quieter holiday we recommend somewhere like calan bosch where I have stayed previously and slept better.

thought i would just write a note about the fantastic area midway between Ferreries and Cala 'n' forcat,
on the transfer journey watch out on the right hand side, top of a hill for a wigwam at the side of a go-carting track (might be speedway or the like, thats not really relevant).... a massive surprise there for anyone with kids, go for a visit and take your swimming gear, on entering there is a pottery shop in front of you and to the left is a cafe, go through the cafe and enter what i can only describe as a secret garden, there are numerous things to entertain the kids all day long if you wanted, also there is a swimming pool, it has a great slide which keeps the kids going for hours, there is a zip-wire, some pay to ride cars (for upto about 7 or 8 year olds) and some pay to ride boats, there are trampolines and other things dotted around and best of all it is totally free except for the cars/boats...try to find that in england :) the boats and cars take a 1€ coin so go armed with lots of them trust me, you will need a few our kids were 6 and 4 and loved every second there. i got into one of the boats to make sure my kids were ok and im not exactly a skinny bloke, the video footage of that still has us laughing, the wife couldnt keep the camera steady for laughing,,,,it was so much fun and relaxing for all.
we were so impressed we went back a couple of times during our week stay
the cafe offered a small but adequate menu and wasnt overly expensive as you would have expected....do not miss this, it is fantastic.
10 / 10, the staff at Vista Picas are great, helpful and cheerful
Onto the Vista Picas, what can i say that hasnt been said already, we were backed onto the inflatable whale on the road the water park is on which was a bit noisy upto about 10 or 11 pm but it didnt stop the kids from sleeping so it wasnt a big problem, the apartments were clean and had all we needed for the week, as already said you dont get air-con so hire a fan if the heat bothers you but mostly you find that the gently breeze in menorca keeps things cool.
we decided to stay in england this year choosing to go to devon last week (23rd - 30th aug 2008) and on only the 2nd day we were planning to return to menorca and the Vista picas apts, only thing that let the holiday down for me was the Tompsons transfer setup...
You get off the plane and see 3 or 4 Tompsons reps waiting for you, how refreshing you think UNTIL they get you on a coach and then they announce they WILL NOT be travelling with you on the transfer,,,,,fortunately this was our second time in Cala N Forcat and we knew when we were there, the driver spoke no english so it was guesswork for some people when it was their turn to get off....we were the last off the coach so again we were OK, same on the return Journey except there wasnt a rep to make sure we got on the coach until we got to the blanes hotel where 2 reps got on and talked non-stop to each other completely ignoring the holidaymakers who were in reality paying their damn wages....this angered me but is absolutely no reflection on the Vista Picas apts which were in my eyes absolutely fantastis...roll on next year when we are going back again.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Vista Picas in Cal n Forcat and I couldn't fault it one little bit.
From the moment you walk into reception you just know you've booked the right place.
All the staff are fantastic especially Cris and his staff.
The pool area is great for the kids and adults alike never to crowded.
The location of the hotel is spot on near to shops and restuarants etc.
We have visited this area for the past 4 years usually staying in the Vista Blanes which is good but this hotel by far surpasses that.

Me (I am 14), my mum and dad just stayed at the Vista Picas Apartments and it is honestly the best place I have ever stayed in.
1. Sunbeds. This is about the first place I have been to where you don't have to get up early to put towels on sunbeds. Although some people got up around 8a.m to grab an umberella, you could come down at 11-12 o'clock and easily get sunbeds.
2. Pool. The pool is fantastic, massive and never gets too crowded. They allow inflatables and the deep end is deep enough to dive in. There is also a lovely kiddies pool.
3. Entertainment. The entertainer is called Natalie she is lovely. She did water aerobics, water polo and football in the day and bingo, mini disco, kareoke in the evenings. There is just enough to stop us kids getting bored without spoiling the relaxed feeling.
4. Bar. The head barman is called Cris he is funny-some kids called him "Uncle Cris". There is a bar open all day and a restaurant open for lunch and then for dinner. They always did a big barbecue on friday nights which was lovely.
5. Rooms. We only had a one bedroomed apartment but that was huge for us! There was a sofa bed with another bed underneath, a dining table, coffee table in the big living area, a little kitchen, lovely bathroom and bedroom and balcony. No air-con so we hired a fan for the first week, but then we went without for the second week because you don't really need it-just open all the windows and doors (unless you're o the ground floor).
6. Resort. Cala N'Forcat is said to be the most urbanized part of the island, and on the main strip there is literally hundreds of bars, restaurants, shops etc. (There is a shopping centre everyone calls the spiral, and at the top is a lovely little bar with amazing views, and San Miguel is only 2.50 euros, which pleased dad!)
7. Beach. Although there isn't a beach in Cala N'Forcat, there are lots of lovely little undiscovered coves which aren't very busy and are beautiful. If you want a big beach though it's only a 10-20 minute bus journey away. Son Bou though has the most beautiful beaches, that's a bit further away though.
8. Ciutadella. Ciutadella is well worth a visit, only about 2 euros on the bus about half an hour away. The harbour is beautiful.
Overall we loved Vista Picas so much we have already booked to return next month.
Almost everyone we spoke to has returned here year after year, so if you do come (which you should!) be prepared to want to come back again and again!
Enjoy!

Just come back from the Vista Picas Apartments, great holiday overall. Would consider revisting again as there is always plenty to do. The resort is quiet in the daytime with short walks to nearby coves. In the evening the resort livens up with entertainment available from the square nearby and there is also a childrens play area across the road with trampolines etc. It is very family orientated so great for families with children. There are plenty of places nearby to eat Los Delfines and Es Replic were excellent.
Overall the accomodation was extremely clean and had everything in it that you require. The overall complex was extremely clean and tidy also and the pool maintained very well. The Bar staff were very friendly, efficient and the food was very good. There is an entertainer around most days offering water aerobics, water polo and football as well as an array of entertainment at night also.
The only downside was being in the apartment block situated next to the square which played music until 4am in the morning, this meant we could not have windows or doors open at night when sleeping as the noise was very loud. However the music was not emitted from The Blue Breeze Bar as some reviews have mentioned. It was the other bars further away that caused the problem.

My wife booked the holiday via the internet, having also considered the reviews on this site (which we found really helpfull). The holiday was for us and our three children, ages 8, 5 and 9 months. The only thing we had reservations about was the noise some people had encountered from the Blue Breeze pub. That said we booked the holiday.
The Vista Picas apartments were a 45 minute transfer from the airport. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and were located in room 107. This was a single ground floor apartment backing onto the pool area and three blocks away from the Blue Breeze.
The apartment itself was reasonably clean and in good order. The pool area for me was the best part of the place as it was large, clean and spacious. What I did like was the large pool and size of the tiled area around the pool. There was ample room for lots of sunbeds without feeling cramped in any way. The atmosphere was very good with lots of other families and children. It wasn't overly noisy despite lots of children playing. The area around the pool felt very open. I think it also helped that there was only 84 rooms (i think).
There were two supermarkets directly opposite the apartments. These were open from 7.30am - 10.30pm.
We didn't eat at the Vista Picas as we went into the resort every night. This was only a short stroll away. What I especially liked was that the resort was very family friendly. There were three restaurants that had large play area's for the kids (and I mean large!!). They charged 3-4 euro's for the kids to play all night with an iced lolly included. We were quite happily relaxing with a drink as the kids ran wild. One of these restaurants was almost opposite the apartments. There was also a Burger King directly opposite, however we never ate there.
Although the resort was reasonably small there was plenty of choice for restaurants and where to eat. I did'nt have a bad meal in any of them. Generally the lager was 3 euro's for a pint of San Miguel. Our average evening meal cost 50 euro's, which inluded a few drinks each. The Chinese buffet at the end of our street was especially nice. We generally went back to the apartment around 10.30 - 11.00pm as dictated by our youngest. Although we could hear the entertainment from the apartments it wasn't especially loud and none of us had any problems sleeping. Likewise we didn't hear the Blue Breeze from where we were. The apartments had entertainment on most nights. There were also a couple of nearby squares, surrounded by pubs, that also had entertainers on most nights.
We found three beaches, although all were fairly small. The largest of these was at Cala n Blanes, which was a steady 30 minute stroll. It's situated in a cove and was very pleasant. The prices at the beach were double everywhere else. Probably because its down a track and you have no other choice!!
The beach at Cala n Forcat was down a long track from the middle of the resort centre, or down some steps next to the Faragout Hotel. Although the beach was very small it was in a lovely cove and had a very pleasant setting. For me this was the best beach setting of the three.
The final beach was only a 100 metres away and down the side of the Chinese buffet. Again this was very small and in a small cove.
Overall I found the staff at the apartments very friendly. The entertainer, Natalie, came most days and did a kids club, water aerobics and water polo.
For those that want to hire cars, there is a hire car office located off the reception area. A small car cost around 35 euro's for a day.
I met several people who had come back to Vista Picas time and again. I can fully understand why. Although it is not luxury, for what we paid (£1100) it was excellent value for money and I would recommend it. I would also recommend the resort for families. I would quite happily go back.

we have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the vista picas appartments in cala n forcat and must say how much we enjoyed it. The town is fairly quiet but there is always plenty of entertainment in the evenings to suit all tastes. We ate mainly at the Los Delfines restaurant on the main street and found this to be absolutely fantastic. The owner -DAVID- and his partner Linda along with Jose made us feel part of the family and when it was my birthday they presented me with a small cake and a bottle of champagne. The menu is very good and also very reasonably priced ,infact once we had been there we wouldnt have gone anywhere else, they made us so welcome. This restaurant i can highly recommend. The prices of car hire do vary dramatically but we found one called Miramar very reasonable because you really do need a car to see the island. One of the best beaches we found was at cala santana galdana which is only a 20 minute drive from cala n forcat and was very safe for kids with clean shallow water and plenty of ameneties.I hope we shall return to the resort soon as it is quiet ,safe and very reasonably priced

Just returned from our seventh holiday at the Vista Picas Apartments. As always we had a wonderfull stay. The apartments are very spacious and very clean. The resort of Cala n Forcat is getting busier every year, the new Plaza Domingo square is wonderful. It is located right by the blue archway into the resort and features several bars with lots of seating outside and live music most nights, great for the whole family. The restaurants here are great, my 2 favourites are Biancos and Giovannis great food in both highly recommended. So if you are looking for a good self catering holiday, very central to shops and bars yet still quite quiet then the Vista Picas is a great choice.Lindsey on reception is a great help if you need anything.Hope this short review is helpful. One last point this area is not for beach lovers, there are 4 small coves aroundabout but thats it.

I have visited Vista Picas Apartments on four or more occasions, my last visit was in June 2007, yes I do agree that some apartments are close to noisy bars as I was in one then.
As for the quality of the apartments and staff you couldn't wish for more. I am returning this year June 2008 to meet up with many friends we have met over the last few years.
The apartments are always clean and maids come in regular to clean the bathroom and change towels and sheets.
As for seeing the pool cleaned unless your are an early riser like I am you wouldn't, it is done before 8am in a morning and a very good job they do too.
I have to say this is my first choice when I look for a holiday, I always feel like I've been away and chilled out thanks Vista Picas keep up the good work.

Went to Vista Pica in September this year and it was wonderful. The staff especially the Liverpool girl on reception were utterly fantastic.
The villas were basic but clean, you had everything you needed for a great holiday, and we were near the pool and did have a good morning laugh at all the people leaving their towels on the sunloungers!
They had great entertainment on, Abba and take that were fab.
Food wise it was very cheap and well cooked; I am a vegetarian and found there was lots of dishes to be had, try the vegetable salad board YUM!
As for Cala n Forcat itself it is so very beautiful, the only criticism I have it that it was very British, there are 3 local beaches, Cala Blanes is beautiful.
I would recommend everyone to this place, we got the holiday very cheap and I was very sceptical but I had no worries at all and would definitely go again.

We have just returned from Menorca and these apartments and will never return to them again or the resort.
We arrived on the Saturday and on the Monday all the Thomson reps left the island for other destinations. On top of that the resort itself started to close down and we were unable to buy any fresh vegetables, fruit, or meat in the resort.
Thomson were sending clients to Menorca till Wednesday this week and there were no supermarkets or restaurants staying open past yesterday.
The apartments were clean but there was not a television or telephone in them so if you needed help in the night you were stranded.
The bar ran out of beer and drinks halfway through the holiday. No ice cream cones the first week!
The Water park closed down also.
The reception was not manned 24hours as in other complexes we have been in before. Also the receptionist finished this Wednesday.

I stayed at the Vista Picas Aps for 2 weeks from the end of Aug to beginning of Sept, the weather was hot with a nice breeze so it was easier to sleep at night. The apartments were very clean and quite large.
Our apartments were directly opposite the pool which is one of the largest I saw in Cala 'n' Farcat although it was quite cold in the mornings, it warmed up after 3.00pm. I would be careful however as there were apartments we saw right next door to the local club The Blue Breeze which went on till 6.00am.
The staff were brilliant, very friendly, I can't say enough good things about the apartments and staff! It is a very family orientated place with a lot of young children, so if you want a quiet, screaming kid free holiday, don't come here!! The beach I found in Cala 'n' Forcat was tiny and quite a walk downhill (uphill on the way back) in the hot sun, wasn't really worth it. We got the bus to Cala 'n' Blanes to the beach, we had to change buses at Cuitadella so if you go there just remember that. The beach in Cala 'n' Blanes was very nice with the average of 6 euro each for sunbed and parasol.
The entertainment in Vista Picas was ok, would recommend seeing the Beatles tribute. The best restaurants we found was called the Daisy, with a wonderful fish soup, you could get 3 course meal from the set menu for 10 euros. Also the Curio which was a bit more expensive but well worth it for the food. For kids aged 5 to 12 there seemed to be a lot to keep them occupied, there were several large bouncy castles, go karts, and fun houses, but as I don't have kids I couldn't say how expensive it was to use them. Also if you like a nice cocktail of an evening go to Jimmy Hills 2 bar, not far from the apartments, which has the best padded rocking chairs outside.
I would recommend only coming for one week as there isn't much to do other that sit round the pool and sunbath or read. Also if you smoke the tobacconist shuts from 1.00pm-5.00pm for siesta, shops don't sell cigarettes. If you're desperate Jimmy Hills 1 in the square has a cigi machine. To sum it up, only come for 1 week, great for people with young children, don't come here if you want a beach holiday or a kid free holiday, nice big pool, very nice apartment, friendly staff and lovely restaurants.

Just arrived back from the Vista Picas in Cala'n Forcat Menorca. The apartments are beautiful, they are clean, well equipped, and the pool was fantastic. Entertainment in the complex was good.
But cala'n Forcat itself is a jackal and Hyde resort. During the day it is beautiful and quiet just like the Menorca of previous visits, but come the evening the noise level was awful!
Bars compete with each other music wise, children were screaming practically non stop on the bouncy castles and other rides and from our apartment we could join in with the quiz nights from the Irish bar!
This would have been fine if by midnight everything stopped - thought this was the law on Menorca anyway! We would go back to the vista picas without a doubt if they were in a MUCH QUIETER area!
Not just being a fuddy duddy about the noise our 12 year old found it over the top as well - we will not be going back!!
