We arrived at Hermes Hotel at around 12 from a tiring 2 hour cab drive. The hotel's look on the out side isnt that bad, plus the pool is quite nice. But thats probably the only good things about the hotel. As we got out of the cab we got greeted and they took our bags. Me... more

Myself and my two sons, aged 18 and 12 have just returned from a fabulous fortnight at the Hermes Hotel. When we arrived at 5pm we had a short wait for our room to be ready, so we had a meal and a drink and took in the atmosphere. We knew straight away that we were going... more

Clean, Friendly and would return
I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel Hermes, Marmaris. I had read old reviews about this hotel which were not complimentary but was assured by friends that new management had taken it over and revamped the place. They were right. The hotel was freshly painted, the grounds were exceptionally clean, the swimming pool quite big and there was even a small children's play area. The staff were helpful and friendly, most spoke good English and I was thankful for this especially after suffering delays with the volcanic ash at airport. There is a small elevator which was convenient for luggage and tired bones. The inclusive breakfast is Turkish style but there is also the option of English, cereal, toast etc at a reasonable charge. Our room was very clean, beds changed every 3rd day, towels changed every day. There is air conditioning and safe deposit boxes available for a charge also. The main reception area is large and incorporates a TV Lounge, lots of indoor seating, pool table and table tennis. Armutalan is the quieter end of Marmaris which suited me but the local dolmus was available every 15 mins to take you down the front to the busy nightlife of Marmaris.
Great value for money for a family holiday
I stayed in the Hermes a few years ago and was very reluctant to return. As I have friends that live in Armutalan, the positioning of the hotel was in the area I wanted. My friends assured me that the hotel had been completely refurbished so I decided to book and have just returned and had a great holiday. We had a family room, which consisted of a large double bed and single bed with ample hanging space for us all. The bed and matresses were immaculate. The staff were friendly and kind to the children. There is a large swimming pool and an excellent play area for children. There was lots of nice shade and the bar snacks were excellent and catered for us all. The local bus service takes you down to the lively resort of Marmaris but we were always glad to return to the quiet of Armutalan and the great entertainment by the staff. All in all, I would have no hesitation in returning to the Hermes and I would like to thank Memhet and his staff for a great family holiday.
take a look
Hi I have stopped at this hotel if you want a nice quite holiday this is the place it is located in the armutulan area not far from the bus terminus so so can get on any of the dolmuses the rooms are clean a little small a turkish breakfast but i like this so no probs the pool is a nice size and very clean and the prices are cheap but on the whole clean and basic
Had a great holiday here
Im Pamela from Scotland I stayed at this hotel with friends and family the staff were very entertaining and made sure you were having a good time. The entertainment at night was very good and i would go back to this hotel again. There is shops and retaurants near by and its not far from the town were the nightlife was good. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Perfect stay!
I have previously stayed in the Hermes hotel before, this being my second occassion and both myself and my friends enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The hotel is under new management and although always high on cleanliness and was of a good standard it is now much improved. The hotel itself is situated close by to a range of shops and a chemist etc making it a perfect spot to enjoy your holiday. The hotel also has a large swimming pool and pool side bar. I found the staff to be really helpful and willing to accomodate any requests we had. Overall i would rate the Hermes 10/10 and will definitly be re-visiting it for my next trip abroad to Turkey.
What can we say, " We loved it"
Myself and my partner and my 11 year old daughter stayed in the Hermes, We had stayed in the sister hotel The Royal Plaza Hotel previously. The staff at the Hermes were superb, they were there to attend to our every whim, the Hotel was basic but very clean and tidy, the Food was excellent, with so many amenities, even the local shops and restaurants like violets accross the street, you had everything you needed on your doorstep. You also have the local bus station outside your door to take you to Marmaris , the people were wonderful. We spent most of our time at the hotel, but there is plenty to do and see, and lots of trips to go on. There was such good fun to be had around the pool during the day with the staff and holidaymakers alike, and there was entertainment every night for everyone, which I have to say, was most impressive, even my daughter felt like a grown up when they had the childrens entertainment she could go with her friends she had made and have fun every night, from magic acts, to dancing and Karoke and even Traditional Turkish nights. We all experienced a magical holiday I could not find one fault, we all tried new foods and experienced the culture, we did take in some of the day trips, I have to say of all the holidays I have had I would be very reluctant to go anywhere else. It was a beautiful location, with fantastic scenery and beaches, wonderful people and a fantastic atmosphere and fantastic value for money. We have met so many great friends on this holiday and we are all still in touch with, I've never experienced a holiday like it, it was perfect. I can't wait for my next trip this summer. Points to remember: 1.You need £10 note for your visa entry when you get to Dalaman airport, this actually covers your visa for 3 months. 2.Watch the rate, it's chages daily. I personally found having sterling with me gave me a bit more bargaining power, plus it meant i didn't have to change all my money at once, I could wait for a day when the rate was good. 3.Remember where you are, so many times I have seen people who are rude etc, when there is no need to be, and never had I heard a raised voice or any form of upset, remember it's nice to be nice, and you are away from home, I have never felt so comfortable and safe if a country abroad. 4. Value for money. Always shop around, enjoy the markets, the haggling, soak up the atmosphere, i defy you and most of all enjoy yourself.. it's hard not to.... What a beautiful place.....
BRILLIANT VALUE FOR MONEY!!!!
My family and myself stayed at Hermes last October, the whole holiday was fantastic. We couldnt have asked for a more comfortable holiday, the staff was very friendly and couldnt do enough for us. The hotel had just been taken over by new management when we arrived and they really did this hotel proud!!!, the rooms were always clean with fresh bedding and towels everyday, the views were breath taking, and the food was second to none,it was very yummy!!, we ate out once but regretted not eating at the Hermes because the food there is so fresh and delicious. The kids was happy all through the holiday in the very large swimming pool, and the staff always made a fuss of them. If there was anything the kids wanted that wasnt on the menu, Mehmet always made sure that they had it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone including couples and families.....well done Hermes under your new management you have done well, see you all in June, same room, same view
excellent
this hotel has had the best makeover i have ever seen. It is now under new management and the service and staff are superb... After hearing of this change i thought i would give it a try and i couldnt of wished for anything better, the rooms are spotless, the food is delicious and the staff are curtious at all times... All in all a great holiday , great hotel and well worth the money. Give it a try, u will not regret it. Ive already booked my next stay along with ten members of my family.......If i had to sum it up in one word it would be EXCELLENT!!!!
Lovely...
I am also a travel agent but my friend and i chose this hotel as it looked small and turkish.. What's the point in going to Turkey and stay in a huge property with no turkish feel. Hermes is just ouside Marmaris which we also liked..We didn't want to be in the centre of the nightlife but able to travel in if we wanted to. We mainly got the bus into Marmaris which took approx 10mins..the bus stop was 100yards away from Hermes and costed around 20p. We stayed in a few nights with and just chatted all night to Amanda who is english so catching her up with everything she's missing took a while. Ahmed and Sam are really nice too. They look after you at this hotel and treat you more like friends then customers.... The rooms are basic but clean..Maids were in every day tidying our mess..(clothes everywhere) lol We gave the staff all our left over toiletries as no point risking them spilling in the case, All staff were very thankful and they shared them out between them all. I would def go back to this hotel but if you're looking for luxury then it's maybe not for you.
give them a chance
This is my second visit to the Hermes hotel in Marmaris and yet another fab holiday. This year i went with my new partner and he loved it more than me. I am a travel agent have been to some fab hotels around the world but for good value for money and fantastic staff you wont beat this hotel. As i told some other guests if you have a particular problem with your room etc tell the reception manager and they will sort it out for you no problem at all dont moan if you havent asked. The staff bend over backwards to help and welcome everyone especially Ahmed and Amanda who work long and hard to make everyone happy. The meals there were fab and for a change Selenas bar next doorand the restuarant opposite are excellent. For all your excursions go to Tommy and Katie just at the end of the street as they are a fab couple and will cater for your every need.We did the jeep safari/2 boat trips/quad safari/talk of town withthem all fantastic. For fantastic value and quality in clothes go to Ebou next to the hotel as again he and his wife will always look after you. Basically to sum up give this fab little hotel a chance as all they want to do is give you a good holiday but dont moan if you havent asked for help??????
