Just back from a week there. Don't confuse this Hotel with the beach-front Hotel with the same name. Arrived Friday night after 4hr night flight.Goldtrail rep was very deadpan (Jaded) on 2 hr coach transfer (with 1 comfort stop midway.) At Hotel, we were briefly guided down to the mothballed dungeons known as the studios. A cup lifted from the old overworked kitchen unit had stuck firmly to the shelf as an indicator of how recently the cell had been properly cleaned. The street could be looked up to from the war time bunker balcony(always in shade). We advised the resort rep that we were not happy with the room and, to the hotel's credit, we were moved to a one bedroom apartment at street level the following day. A substantial improvement, albeit everything in the room had seen better days. Our view was towards the road into town along which Bars and supermarkets abound) . Across the street a couple of bars competed to have loudest. rudest music until 11.30 after which volume reduced finally allowing sleep before 1.30 am. Not impressed with Maramaris beach, we went to nearby Icemeler beach by microbus (Blue bus to town and orange bus to Icemeler beach - all for 3.5 YTL each way). We had a lovely day as part of the seal colony of sunloungers which completely cover all the useable beach surface available (which was same at Marmaris beach too.). Sunloungers were only 5 YTL for the day, but drinks came at a premium price as expected. Tuesday woke at seven to discover we were both smitten with salmonella. The source of the infection NOT identified and probably picked up from one of the beach-front restaurants and unlikely to have orginated at our Hotel. Staff however, showed sympathetic looks but no help. Additional loo rolls were made available at a price. On Wednesday ventured out to find local Chemist for medicine and found less than five minutes walk away. By Thursday began to recover enough to go out again. Friday we had breakfast in the Hotel resturant. Full English breakfast 5 YTL very tasty. The restaurant staff were always in good humour and clearly on commission & tips to survive. The small swimming pool next to the Hotel's restaurant fell into shade mid afternoon but was clean. Sun lounger cushions looked very tired, in keeping with the Hotel generally. For a low-price holiday I suppose it was acceptable. For a second visit from me, out of the question.

Well, just got back, and all i can say is, fantastic. Hotel is 20 steps from beach. Rooms are very clean, basic but everything you need. Cleaner comes every day. Staff are friendly and can't do enough for u. Only thing i wasn't told is that the hotel is about 2 hrs from airport, and was extremely hot, ( went 5th sept for week ), so thank goodness for the air con. Food was delicious, u must try their turkish food, really yummy. I found money wise, it was about the same as eating out here, average meal with a starter couple beers would cost around £45 for the 2 of you. But u have no worries staying here, i read some reviews and it had some bad ones, which concerned me, but i think they were from the competition cos they were a load of rubbish, or got the wrong hotel, anyway if you're going here u will have a fab time.

I went to Villa Sol apartments last year and in a weeks time Im going right back to the hotel... This family run hotel was freindly, welcoming and the food in the restaurant was great value for money and very tasty! There was live entertainment and the beach was literally the other side of the pavement. The hotel room was clean and we were lucky to have an amazing sea veiw. This is a cheap and cheerful hotel that is costing us aroung £6.00 a night. I think this ia a brilliant location and there is nothing wrong with this freindlt happy hotel!

My friend and I have just arrived home after a week at the Villa Sol Hotel in Mmarmaris.
All I can say was FANTASTIC and I wish we were still there!
The hotel is only 2/3 star so it is nothing spectacular. The rooms are small but clean and decor very old fashioned. To be honest we didn’t spend much time in the room.
The beach is in front of the hotel and the food is lovely and fresh. There is very good nightlife in Marmaris, but the entertainment in the hotel was so good we stayed there most nights. If you want a proper girly holiday with gorgeous boys waiting on you hand and foot then come here. I have never met such lovely friendly people. They will do anything for you. We have made so many new friends and both shed a tear when it was time to leave. We are definitely going back in September.
