Fantastic end to a great holiday in Andalucia
We booked this hotel through the Easyjet website as we were travelling around Andalucia without a car and needed to be at the airport early the following morning. We were a very reluctant to spend any time in Malaga as we wanted to avoid the whole Costa scene. What a surprise we had at the hotel and the city! The hotel was well above anything we were expecting for our measly little £61/night!!! We somehow got the largest room on the floor complete with entrance hall with an extra sofa bed, a large marble bathroom with his & hers basins... more
Not four stars in my book
This is a hotel that tries hard to be a four star establishment but cuts too many corners! It's immediately obvoius from the decor, which is a patchy assortment of different faux styles, that whoever decorated the place was doing it on the cheap. And most of the moudlings, marble and paintwork are of a 'do-it-yourself' quality rather than being top notch. The room was nice and big, and the minibar was free (although it was only stocked with soft drinks). Beds were comfortable. The bathroom was fine - apart from a slight greenish tinge... more
Great weekend break
My husband and I are in our late twenties and stayed at the Malaga Centro in the middle of July for a long weekend. When we arrived at Malaga Airport our luggage was already waiting for us, we jumped in a taxi within minutes and were soon at the hotel. Everything was completely stress free. The hotel itself is immaculate and there are marble floors everywhere. The rooms are cleaned everyday and there are fresh towels every day. There is also a free minibar in the room which provides soft drinks and is re-stocked daily. The only... more
Excellent location, friendly staff.
After spending time in rural Spain with all the assciciated difficulties of travelling with a disabled partner-the Malaga Centro proved a successful end to our visit to Spain. Upon arrival, I was most willingly assisted by the young female receptionist to unload our luggage and the electric wheelchair and they offered to park the car up for us so we could forget about it until we left 3 days later. Our room was not quite ready but we were happy to flop with a complimentary drink at the bar for 10 minutes until it was. Our luggage was... more
Excellent value / Great Location
We stayed for two days at the end of May, the hotel was clean comfortable and quiet. The room was excellent well furnished, with a great bathroom. Can't really comment on the staff as our only contact was in checking in and out, but then they were friendly and helpful. Neither can we comment on the Breakfast, the hotel was so quiet we woke up late and missed it. However that turned out to be a bit of good luck, we strolled into town and had an excellent breakfast in an outside cafe in a square overlooked by the magnificant Cathedral which... more
Okay, Not Four Star
I stayed at Malaga Centro in late May/early June 2006. Overall, the restaurant was satisfactory, but not great. First, the positive: the bathrooms are excellent: big and in excellent shape. The service is generally polite. Excellent restaurant, which is expensive, but not terribly so considering the quality. The negative. Do not stay here if you have a car. Their website promises hotel parking, but in truth, they only have 11 spaces for 113 rooms: meaning that it is a struggle to make sure you have a spot. It is not located in a... more
Good value for money
We stayed at The Malaga Centro for a weekend at he end of March. We chose this hotel as it was close to were our daughter is living while in Malaga. As previous travellers have stated the area is pretty scruffy but the hotel itself is like an oasis amongst it all. The area is were the Malaga people live and work and the shops and buildings around the hotel reflect this, though they are working on the area as new hotels are being built constantly. The Hotel itself is modern, very smart and clean, the rooms were a good size with free... more
Very nice hotel
We received a warm welcome from the reception staff on arrival at the hotel. Our room was very clean and not a bad size. The bathroom was great, fully tiled with double sinks. Towels are changed every day. The room was pretty quiet, except when our neighbours were in their bathroom, the air conditioning acted like a pa system and they might as well have been in our bathroom. Breakfast was very good, a great selection on the buffet and hot food to order. We didn't eat any other meals at the hotel, it was a bit haute... more
Three and a half stars
This modern hotel is situated centrally within 5-10 mins stroll of Malaga old town. The public areas are very clean and attractive and comfortably furnished. Bedroom (ours was on the 5th floor) comprised a lobby with hall stand, large well-fitted bathroom and larger-than-average room with twin beds, bedside cupboards, fitted wardrobe and drawers, dressing table, minibar with drawers beneath, table and two chairs (large enough to eat comfortably at if necessary) and third bed cum settee. Colour TV with limited English language... more
Good Value for Money
My wife & I have stayed in Malaga seven times, usually at the AC Palacio. Second time that we've stayed at this hotel and we were not disappointed - great value for money. Large rooms with king size bed and large bathroom but no balcony. Free minibar with soft drinks. All rooms on the fifth floor are non-smoking. Good range of food at buffet breakfast plus hot dishes to order. Pleasant reception area with comfortable leather couches. Location is not bad for the old town and pedestrian area - just cross a bridge and you are into the old... more
