This was our first time to Turkey (myself, my husband and an 11 year old) so we were abit apprehensive. The Hotel was clean and comfortable with a good pool area - no scramble to try and get sunbeds. The rooms were cleaned every day by the friendly cleaning staff. It took... more

We spent two weeks in August 2007. The hotel was situated in prime location, near to town. A lot to do in Dalyan. However the owner of the hotel could be more freindly towards its guests. A smile doesn't cost anyone anything. Majority of staff with limited English but... more

Highly Recommend the Binlik
Stayed for two weeks in August 2008. Very impressed with hotel and staff. Very clean, excellent facilities and can be highly recomended for all. Absolutely no problems.
Loved the Hotels chickens
We had a great stay at this well positioned and moderately priced hotel. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained in the gardens and the pools are extremely clean. We went bed and breakfast and the breakfast was very basic and not especially good. Other guests we spoke to did not rate the evening meals so we would not recommend going half board. We did not find it necessary to eat in the hotel anyway as there are many decent restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Most restaurants are located along the rivers edge which have beautiful views of the rock temples. There are 2 pools, the one at the front is ideal for children and the rear one is a little deeper with a pool side bar and ample sun loungers. We were particularly amused by the hotels chickens which have free run of the grounds and are often found pool side! Overall we had a relaxing stay and there are numerous day trips to be arranged through the hotel reps for those that want to get away for the day.
Relaxation!
If you want a relaxing holiday then this is perfect. This was my first experience of Turkey and it was an absolute amazing holiday. The hotel was clean and most of the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that when it rained (one afternoon), there was absolutely nothing to do. Dalyan itself was a stunning village with plenty of bars and restaurants, all of a very high standard. I will certainly be going back.
Nice quiet location
I arrived at the hotel in mid-November during a violent thunderstorm and this was after the area had already suffered the wettest two weeks in thirty five years, so as you can imagine my first experience of the Hotel Binlik was not great, but this was not the fault of the hotel. The staff were all working hard clearing and cleaning everything, it was sad for them to see so much damage. Typically the next day was a cloudless sunny sky and everything did not seem so bad. The bedrooms were compact in nature with sufficient furniture. Every room has a balcony with a couple of chairs and a small table. The sliding door to the balcony also had a mosquito screen which I understand is vital equipment in the summer months. The location is good, being on the edge of the town with only a short walk to the town centre and lake. There are plenty of eating choices in Dalyan, I homed in on Cafe Jik's that had free WiFi available for their guests, oh, and they also had a good menu at excellent value for money prices. The staff at the Binlik were approachable and friendly. Whilst I was there I saw photographs of the hotel in the summer and I was also aware of the mainly good reviews on this website, I was therefore pleased to learn that throughout the summer the hotel is obviously popular. During the summer months the hotel is used by some of the large tour companies with their guests enjoying the two good sized pools and the hotels restaurant. Breakfast was simple, but I understand in the summer guests help themselves from an extensive breakfast buffet. I was only charged sixteen pounds per night which represented superb value. To summarise, in my opinion the Binlik is just adequate. The rooms were clean but small and the dining room was too smokey for me. However, if you want value for money, particularly in the winter - look no further.
Great for a quiet relaxing break
My wife and I wanted a fairly cheap, quiet, relaxing break in constant sunshine and this hotel and resort was recommended to us by our travel agent. Apart from one or two little niggles, it was just what we needed. The hotel and flight cost around £350 each for B&B. The weather was glorious with temperatures around 35 to 40 every day. The room we had was fairly basic. It had a balcony overlooking one of the hotel's two pools. It was air conditioned which was a must. There was a double and one single bed and a large wardrobe but very few drawers anywhere. A large fridge kept our beer and wine cool! The ensuite had a crude shower and plastic curtain in the corner which worked surprisingly well. Room service was a bit hit and miss. (Tip: Take some spare loo rolls with you!) Breakfast was served until 10.00 and always provided us with a laugh when the latecomers tried to persuade the recalcitrant staff to let them have some coffee or even a little bread and jam. The fastest they ever moved was when they cleared the food away at one minute to ten! The omelettes were nice though. We just ambled over to the pool after breakfast and selected a couple of loungers for an exhausting day sunbathing. It wasn't very busy and we could generally have our pick of them all. There were two pools. The one near the bar was the best! They were both about 20m by 10m and perfect for a dip when it became just too hot. The bar served snacks for when it was too much effort to walk into town for lunch. It is built like a round, thatched hut and the friendly staff were very helpful. It was sometimes difficult to make ourselves understood at reception though, but just when we were about to give up, out popped Mr Binlik with his cheery smile (not) to translate for us. All part of the fun. There are lots of good places to eat in Dalyan. Attiks is recommended. Boats leave the riverside for the beach on a regular basis and cost about 5 TL (£2) each, return. It was the warmest sea I have ever been in. We also went to the nearby mudbaths but on reflection we should have gone further afield to the Sultanyie (something like that) which are apparently a little more sophisticated. There was a huge market on one of the days. Watches, perfume, designer label clothes, jewellery all at amazingly cheap prices. How do they do that? Could they be fakes? Surely not. Mind you, the silver anklet did turn my wife's ankle green which was a bit of a Scooby clue. I didn't like having to leave at 01:00 in the morning. I didn't really like having to leave at all but all good things etc etc.
Loved The Binlik
This is a small family run hotel. We stayed here May 2006 and found the rooms to be very clean, if on the small side. The one thing that makes this hotel is the staf, they really go out of their way to make you welcome. Dalyan is a small village and very friendly, after a week everyone has a good idea who you are! As there is no beach in the village you take the water taxi to the beautiful lagoon. We experienced a heatwave while there so we were actually quite content to use the pool, but the beach is beautiful and worth the effort. We hired a jeep for a day for about £25.00 and went exploring. We drove into Dalaman which isn't really worth seeing, although it is set to have a lot of investment there was no sign of it yet! We also headed out to Sarigerme beach which is beautiful, a walk through gardens takes you to a great sandy beach..just be careful with the current! There are plenty of restaurants along the water in Dalyan, all of which are very cheap. Bring plenty of mosquito spray though as they do have a problem due to the location of the river and spray the town at night-time. One final word of warning about the Binlik..the pools have no shallow end so if you're taking small children keep this in mind as there was no lifeguard on duty and even though I had no kids with me I found myself nervous for the kids who could have jumped in and got into trouble!
decent hotel, lovely resort
The Binlik is a good clean simple hotel, in a quiet location, but well positioned for local bars and restaurants. The pool is very nice, in a lovely setting. The hotel was almost empty when we visited in early May, which is right at the beginning of the season. The breakfasts were a bit basic and repetitive, and tended to run out of things, but the bread was fresh and omelettes were availabe. The resort is extremely pretty, built alongside a lovely river, with a lake to the north and an unspoilt beach to the south (which is protected for loggerhead turtles) . There are many things to do, including local transport by boat and dolmus, and the Caonus ruins across the river. The resort is laid back, friendly , and suitable for those who want to relax and enjoy nature , rather than partying the night away. We would go back to this hotel and resort.
Not quite the Hilton.... A good hotel none the less
During our first couple of hours in Turkey my family and I couldnt wait for the two weeks to be over. A family holiday with the parents was not quite what four 15-25 year olds were hoping for.... It just goes to show to always expect the unexpected. Our holiday in Dalyan turned out to be one of the best we've ever had. The staff at the Binlik hotel were all very friendly and accommodating, offering information and their expertise on all the local attractions. The bar staff played our selection of music, even though they disliked it.... I never thought i'd be sick of the chillies, but listening to them on repeat for two weeks just proved too much! We enjoyed being taught by the staff about Turkish traditions and the language while returning the favour by teaching them the Welsh language and traditions. The hotel is situated minutes away from the town, walking distance from all restaurants, shops and bars. Although the rooms arent exactly luxury they offer all the basics needed, the beds were comfortable and the showers served their purpose. The balconies were an added bonus, good for chilling out on in the evening and watching the entertainment provided some nights at the hotel without having to leave the room (always good after a hard day of sun worshipping!) Breakfast at the hotel was always interesting. Again the staff were pleasant and set our table especially for us as we were such a big party (not too many families of seven at the hotel while we were there!) If you enjoy tasting random food and arent scared of trying new things, then breakfast at the hotel is most definitely for you! Overall, with the help of Binlik Hotel, Kaunos Tours, the amazing beaches and many attractions Dalyan turned out to be a dark horse.... Really worth the effort, and don't like us; judge a book by it's cover.
Good Hotel.
Binlik Hotel Alanya Turkey We had a week in the Binlik 23August 2005. B+B basis. The hotel was clean, bright and appears to have recently been refurbished. All the rooms had balconies, some larger than others with a table, two plastic chairs and a stool, the smaller balconies did not have room for the table. Our room was for three people with one double, one single bed (brand new) and was an adequate size. Also the room was a wardrobe, a mini fridge with beer and soft drinks with price list, dressing table with two draws, hair drier and mirror. There was a bedside table between the double and single bed with built in radio which did not work. Air conditioning was free and sometimes did not seem to be as cold as it should have been, some guests said that there’s did not seem to be cold at all. The electric in the room was turned on by inserting a plastic fob attached to your room key into a slot, so when you went out the electric went off so the air con went off, so you came back to a very hot room. You could get round this by removing the key from the fob and leaving the electric on, as most guests seemed to be doing in the 38deg heat. You also get a shower room with toilet, wash bowl, mirror and shaver socket. We found there was always plenty of hot water but sometimes the water out of the cold tap was nearly as hot as the hot one?? (Strange plumbing problem) There was no ventilation in the bathroom so thing did get very humid in there so leaving the sliding door open was needed or you could not get dry, but no one else in the room can see you. The hotel had two swimming pools, one at the front of the hotel and one at the back, without lifeguards so if you have children its up to you to supervise them. The front pool was the shallow pool at 1.2mtrs still quite deep for the little kids so they need to be good swimmers or have arm bands. There was plenty of sun loungers and chairs and tables round this pool with a shower area to the side. The rear pool was much bigger 1.8mtrs deep, with a little paddle pool to the side, and also had a pool bar area, to the side of the bar are two large gazebo covered areas with tables and chair’s. The other side of the bar had a large lawn with a few plants and children’s play area (slides etc) The bar only served bottle beer and soft drinks non on draught, food and snacks were available here but at the usual inflated hotel prices. If you walked out of the hotel and 20 feet next door to the pancake house you could stuff yourself and have a few drinks for half the price, and it was VERY GOOD, try the spaghetti bolognaise it was fantastic not at all what I was expecting. Anyway back to the Binlik…….the pool was spotless and was maintained every morning or evening along with the pool side area. There was loads of beds but unfortunately the us English seem to have acquired the habit of bed hogging early morning, you know what I mean, you look out of the room to the pool at 08.00 and towels on the beds but no one insight so if you want a bed for the day you have to do the same. The dining room was clean and bright but I did not rate the breakfast much. You had a choice of two cheeses, sliced salami, black/green olives, tomatoes, cucumber, yogurt, four different jams, crusty bread, corn flakes, muesli, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Some mornings there were little sausages and something wrapped in pastry but did not know what they were as they did not taste of much. The staff were very helpful and tried there best to please you. The pool bar staff, two young lads one only 19 and working there for summer were fantastic with adults and kids, what a laugh we had with them some days they ended up being thrown in the pool after they had played a trick on someone, they loved it and so did we. The owner/ manager which ever she was often wandering about and looked as happy as a bull dog chewing a wasp, did not smile at all, but as we had no dealing with her that did not matter to us or any one else. We had to be out of our room by midday but were not being picked up until 01.00 the following morning and so were asked if we could keep the room on so we could get showers later on in the day but they said this was not possible but shower rooms would be provided for us when we needed. Later that day we asked for a shower room and was given a key to a room three stories up at the top of the hotel which had a glass roof, up there was like a green house! Hot was not the word and this was at 7 o’clock in the evening. The room was built into the pitched roof area to the sides of the glass section, I am only 5ft 8ins but had to duck to get in and then found hardly room to stand up straight in there, and the heat was a bit much with no window or ventilation or air con. My young daughter and wife went into the shower room first but then called me in as they could not get water to come out of the shower head, this time smacking my head on the door frame and still have the lump to prove it. The shower pipe was split so no use at all. After a trip back to reception and various keys to different shower rooms all with non working showers we ended up in a mouse hole with a working shower, When I had had my shower it was so hot and humid in this room I could not get dry and so braved the corridor in the nude to get dried and dressed. I would have no hesitation on going back to the Binlik if self catering was available. This is no reflection on the standard of the food, we just like to do our own thing when and where we want and not be tied to times to eat. Brilliant Hotel Nice food and lovely staff.
Hi all! A absolute marvelous hotel with friendly staff and nothing is too much to ask for. My special comments is to the tall head waiter Atakan (hope I spelled it right ).If he reads it his Zippo Lighter is on the way. And to all the staff including Mr.Binlik (hahaha please smile ) you all just wonderful. Is a short walk (5 mins) from town,a supermarket is just around the corner. Both pools are well maintained but don't forget the flip-flops as the poolside is boiling hot and be aware it can be slippery especially you enjoyed the poolbar to much.
