Sufficient for our relaxing break
from SueandSteve
We stayed at the Nefeli for 11 nights in October this year, after having read the reviews on Tripadvisor. Our accommodation was self catering. The room was basic but clean but would benefit from refurbishment. Bedlinen and towels were changed to our satisfaction. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and quickly sorted out a problem we had during the week. We expected to eat in different restaurants in Kos/Lambi each night but these were further away from the hotel than we anticipated. We were troubled by mosquitos at night which put us off venturing out so ate in the hotel each night. The menu was varied enough that we had plenty to choose from but a range of desserts were not always available.Pool was kept clean and there were sufficient sunbeds. The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from a narrow beach. It is out of town and in a quiet location. Bike and car hire places nearby. This was our first visit to Kos and we enjoyed the holiday but due to the number of return visitors to the hotel it sometimes felt like a family party we weren't invited to. Overall this hotel fulfilled our requirements for an economic, relaxing, chill out holiday.
Lovely Autumn Break
from MrsB1960
My husband Paul and I stayed at the Nefeli from 19th to 26th October and had a wonderful time. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and shown to our room which was very clean and comfortable. Although there was air conditioning available, we didn't need it at this time of the year and I imagine that the room would be cool in the summer due to its position (room 109). The room was cleaned every day and towels changed twice during our stay. I had become a little worried about staying here after reading some negative reports on this site but needn't have worried. I can understand why people return here every year - the friendliness of the family who own and run the hotel is second to none and Wilma behind the bar is a joy. The other guests we met were Nefeli regulars and declared us Nefelians as well! We like to try different restaurants each night when on holiday but ate here 3 times during our sstay, the food was excellent, good portions and very good value for money. Many thanks to Nikos, Dimitri and your lovely family for your hospitality and making our holiday complete.
Relaxing hotel
from Ibak
My husband and myself have just returned from a 2 weeks' holiday, on half board basis, at Nefeli. We found it so welcoming, clean and friendly, a nice atmosphere(apart from a smoking lounge- but this not a problem as we sat in dining room when in ,or on outside terrace at front of hotel-if having a drink, plus pool area available also.) As it is a smaller hotel and a family run one, there is constancy of staff, and it is more informal , so we found it very relaxing indeed. Our room was clean, linen changed as required/regularly.Food excellent, great choice, +authentic greek food and desserts, freshly cooked and vegetarian meals provided specially with choice. Large amounts of food also. There is a minimarket in hotel, supplies most things. We had not been to Kos before, we found it charming, teeming with history, good for hiking/exploring. Island people very helpful and friendly. All food we had outside hotel was excellent. Weather very good mainly, odd windy day but 100 times better than UK+ lots of Europe for October!! Kos airport spoils your holiday a lot, it is totally congested, only toilets are downstairs, i.e.2 flights stairs if you are in cafe. But flight left on time!!
perfect holiday
from Peely
Stayed at the Nefeli in August, could not have asked for better. Family of four plus grandparents - ideal for all. My youngest son had an ear infection, the specialist advised that this was due to pressure and him constantly diving underwater not the cleanliness of the pool. The holiday - what can I say, greek hospitality is great, the Nefeli is exceptional. Nicos, Maria, Nikki and families also Wilma - nothing too much trouble - wonderful people who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. Location ideal, pool spot on, rooms great, food superb. Will definitely be going back next year. Gill Dave Daniel David - Gwen & Ken
The Lovely Nefeli
from seasontravel
We have recently returned home from another fantastic relaxing holiday at the marvelous Nefeli hotel in Lambi, just outside Kos town. We first went to Nefeli in 2005,at the airport we told the Olympic rep our name and he said I quote"Oh you are going to the beautiful Nefeli"unquote. My wife then said quietly to me "I expect he says that about all the hotels to make people happy" NOT A BIT OF IT he was deadly serious.and with good reason. The Nefeli is truly terrific for a most relaxing holiday ever. It has a beautifully kept large swimming pool with ample sun loungers with matresses and a pool bar. The rooms are large well kept and air conditioned. Nefeli is a quarter of an hours walk to Lambi shops and beach and a further ten minutes to Kos Town. Nikki Nicos Maria and their staff (not forgetting the fantastic Wilma )are all magnificent. Do yourself a favour and visit the Lovely Nefeli and get a taste of real Greek hospitality you will feel a member of the family with your first drink. We can't wait to go back roll on May. Ok, but wont be going back or recommending
from Naraigh
Had a few recommendations for this 4* place and had read reviews here on TripAdvisor but was quite disappointed. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. And the pool looks quite nice, but its whatever was in it that is the problem. When we got home my boyfriend spent over 2weeks on 2 courses of Antibiotics, 3 trips to the doctor and hours of agony with an ear infection. As we'd over-heard the conversations around the pool about some other guests getting such ear infections during their stay we're guessing this is where he picked it up. The self catering studios nearly smothered us with the lack of air/ventilation at night and going self catering itself was a complete waste of time as sparse utensils, dirty pans and 2 hob rings that looked like they could go on fire didnt inspire any use! They are dated and a bit shabby looking. Air Con or a Fan was extra €. Kos itself is a nice island but we found the restaurants in Kos town weren't up to much - most meals lacked flavour and enjoyment! All in all Ive stayed in much better 2* Self Catering so sorry to say we'll not be back or recommending Nefeli.
Not all its cracked up to be!

Stayed in the Nefeli Hotel for two weeks recently. As per previous reviews the staff are excellent and the family who run the hotel are perfect, helpful and cutious at all times. The rooms are spacious, bathrooms are well equiped and the apperance of the hotel is excellent. BUT........ My problem was with the general housekeeping of the rooms, sheets that did not fit the beds, floors in rooms that were not swept by the chamber maids, in two weeks the bath towels were only changed 4 times, not adequate considering they were that thin that you could read a news paper through them. The Nefeli needs to do some simple tasks like changing towels more than twice a week and using bed sheets that fit the beds. Simple things that will make the difference from being a budget hotel to a good hotel. Kos is an excellent location for a vacation and please do not let this review put you off visiting the Island, Greece has so much more to offer than many more countries in the med
Wow! What a wonderful place!
from OurStu
My Husband & I are not the type of people that like to visit the same place more than once but that theory all went out the window after our stay at Nefeli. What an absolutely perfect holiday we had. Rooms are clean, beds are comfier than ours at home, even get baths (which is practical unheard of in Greece), meals were good, bar well stocked & Nikos & his wonderful family are quite possibly the friendliest, nicest people you could wish to meet. Nothing is too much trouble, smiles & laughter all the way. A special mention to young Pedro who thankfully kept my husband entertained with their ' lets splash each other' games!!! Ideally situated a short walk from Lambi where there are some great eating places & bars, further 15-20 mins walk gets you to Kos Town with its harbours, bars, restaurants & shops. Stay at Nefeli & you will truely sample the fantastic Greek way of life...the friendliest, most delightful people you will come across. Oh & did I mention the hotel bar is open 24 hours...what a bonus!! Perfect, perfect, perfect...
Wonderfull Hotel
from alanalda
What a wonderfull hotel the Nefeli is, we have been to Kos 8 times and the Nefeli 7 times, In 2004 we were married there and Nikos and family gave us the most fantastic wedding reception ever, infact Nikos was my husbands bestman, we also spent our first wedding anniversary with them in 2005. We feel so at home there and nothing is too much trouble whatever your needs, they will try and help you. We have always found the swimming pool clean, infact I have seen Nikos cleaning it everyday, the food is very good and there is several dishes to choose from, we have always been very happy with the accomodation and have stayed in several of the rooms, which is cleaned thoroughly with clean towels everyday. We have had many holidays in different countries as well as cruises over the years and I have to say I have never wanted to return for a second time, but the Nefeli and family have captured our hearts and we can not wait to go back. A big thank you to Nikos and family see you in October.
