My boyfriend & I stayed at the Nefeli in June 2008. We didn't expect luxury as we had only paid just over £300 each for b&b for 10 nights. Here are my points about Nefeli:
- The hotel staff didn't seem to like us. They did however warm to older couples who enjoy drinking
- The bedroom area was clean & bright
- The bathroom area was not so clean - mould around the shower & windows & broken glass holder
- There was a fridge in our room which we could have paid 5 Euros a day to use
- Our “balcony” led straight onto the steps to the next block up, so could be accessed by all & the cleaner left our balcony doors open twice! Quite worrying!
- The pool area is nice - padded sunbeds, but there are weeds growing through the tiles & a lot of people (including us) seemed to get a cold virus (from the pool perhaps?)
- Food available at Nefeli - average breakfast - crusty rolls, bl& cereal, greek yoghurt, honey & apricots, coffee/tea/hot choc machine. Pool bar food available was ok – recommend the caesar salad, the s&wiches & the milkshakes.
- There was extremely noisy building work going on throughout the day adjacent to the pool area
- There was also noise from dogs - all day & night. I advise you to bring ear plugs with you
About the resort & area:
- Not sure why they say Nefeli is in Kos Town. It is in Lambi 1¾ miles from Kos Town
- Lambi was lovely - quiet & no hassle from places. There’s a good stretch of flat path along by the sea-front for cycling or running.
- Restaurants we enjoyed include Steven's Place & Mike's Restaurant. Also the restaurant you come to first (if you take a right out of the apartments & then a left)
- Istros not a great restaurant - service not so friendly or good value & quality of food not so nice. Also the restaurant linked with Nefeli (in Kos Town itself) is not good at all – my food was cold
- You can get a bus to Kos Town for 1.50 Euros, the walk is nice too but will take about 30 mins
- The waterpark in Mastihari was nice – (24 Euros each booked in Lambi) Coach pick up was 10am & it took 20 mins to get there. You stay until 4pm. The waterpark charge 2.50 Euros for the locker with 2.50 deposit. The sunbeds are free, the flumes (about 8 different ones),wave pool & lazy river are good. Food is reasonable too
- The airport was quite chaotic. We waited outside for over an hour in a queue waiting for the check-in desk to open. This didn’t affect the flight time for us luckily but was very unpleasant

Got to the Nefeli at 5 in the morning and very tired. We were booked into a room for a few hours before our room was ready. We had a very nice room looking out at the pool. The room spotless and cleaned every day. Breakfast was continental.
The pool was cleaned every single day; big pool with loads of sun beds around.
Now for the owners, what can I say? Nicos and Dimitrios were wonderful; it’s a family hotel and they will bend over backwards to help you, Wilma the barmaid was very nice. If the shop closed at midnight they will open it for you.
My husband and I spent our second wedding anniversary out there and they came out with a bottle of champagne for us. The Greek night is hilarious and very enjoyable, and their bbq's were gorgeous. The food at the Nefeli was good but we ventured out quite alot and found some good places.
Nicos would do shots of tequila most nights for free and we all had to down them, that was fun. We hired bikes to roam around Lambi as it was very flat, Kos town only few miles away. The buses run all the time just up the road to Kos town and only cost few euros
I found this hotel very relaxing, very friendly, no kids and would recommend to anyone.

Hi we have just arrived back from a week at the Nefeli which was fantastic. From the day you arrive to the day you leave you are looked after really well.
The hotel is always nice and clean and the rooms are very modern, we even had a double bed which was nice. I and my husband went on this holiday and we met up with our two friends who have stayed at this hotel five times now.
Nikos is a great man and does an excellent barbecue, by the end of our week Nikos was known to us as ' master of the barbecue ' the Greek night was excellent and suggest you stay at the hotel that night.
The whole family dance and show you how to do it; it was very energetic but a great night. My husband and one of our friends had a belly dance on a table with a belly dancer which was good.
The bar is open as long as you want it to be, Wilma works really hard god knows how much sleep she gets, we hardly got any, sometimes up till 6.30 in the morning, often we saw the sun set and then rise which was a wonderful view.
Nikos’s brother Dimitri has a lovely restaurant called Hellas which we ate there twice and we were well looked after and suggest you give it a visit; he also has a beach bar called Ostria which we spent many a late morning there too. We were looked after really well so you can see why people return year after year.
The pool area was clean and tidy and we spent many a day round it after a heavy night, the cool water was very welcoming as the temperatures were really high. You never had to fight for a sun bed in fact everyone was so laid back you all just mixed together like one big family.
We met some lovely people there and the whole Nefeli family were great people from Nikos and his wife , Nikki , Katerina , Pedro’s, Dimitri, and not forgetting good old Wilma 'Flintstone ' as my husband ended up calling her, she loved the laughs we had with her even if they were until the early hours.
Overall the holiday was fantastic and we will be returning.

I have just returned from two weeks holiday at this Aparthotel, The staff are excellent making you feel one of the families 'the food is good ,the rooms are as you would expect basic but clean. The pool is cleaned everyday.
If you want a relaxing time with a great atmosphere this is the place. We arrived at 0430 on a Sun morning and when I asked if it was possible to get a coffee before getting some sleep the answer was "but of course, no problem" service second to none.

Our party of 4 girls stayed in the anna apartments across the road but we might as well have lived in this hotel. Our apartments were not the best to put it mildly so we headed to nefeli practically every night before going out especially the BBQ nights and karaoke!
We loved this place - the staff are the nicest I have ever come across anywhere. The free sambuca keeps flowing and we had plenty of sick heads the next day as they were so generous! Food is lovely - try the lamb stew, one of the nicest dishes I’ve ever had! Lovely place!

Just got back from a great week in Crete. Resort of Stalis is perfect for couples & families wanting to have a relaxing holiday with good nightlife without the hustle and bustle of the 18-30s type.
The Nefeli was basic but clean, with a great family atmosphere and very friendly staff. The pool is medium size and very nice for relaxing around during the day. One family we met was there for the 5th time in a row and its easy to see why. Our only disappointment was that we only spent one week there.
The main strip is where you will find plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs & beaches and is only 5 mins walk from the Nefeli. There’s plenty of trips and activities to do during the daytime. We did the WaterCity and Dia Island trips. Both were worthwhile and reasonably prices. We also hired a quad for the day which id recommend to anyone and they are legal!
All in all great hol and cant wait to go back next year.

This was our second visit to the Nefeli Hotel, and we can honestly say we had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. Nikos, Maria, Nicky and Wilma, all made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived.
As far as Keith and I are concerned there is no better place to stay. Nikos's BBQ'S are excellent the food just kept coming, we could barely move afterwards.
We will be returning again next year for more.
For the attention of the Nefeli Hotel regulars Keith and Linda are to be married in KOS, hopefully next year. Guess who is the Best man?. We thank you all for reading this.

This was our third visit to the Nefeli, all the family and Wilma are great, and Nicos does a mean BBQ.
The hotel is not a big one and it’s just out of the town, but it is only a short walk or the bus from the end of the lane, we use that to come back on.
We can be sure of a great holiday when we go back for the forth time, our grand daughter loved it even started to swim in the brilliant pool she could not swim until then,
Try it you will love it.

Just back from another wonderful holiday at the beautiful Nefeli Hotel. As usual we were made very welcome by Nikos and the family, they are so friendly helpful and genuine and cannot do enough for you. Also we were looked after at the bar by the lovely Wilma who is great company and loads of fun. This is our second visit and certainly not our last! The hotel is very clean and cared for and the pool is one of the best and well kept we have seen and we have been coming to Greece for 20 years. The hotel is in a lovely quiet area and it is a lovely stroll into town either via the sea or the country way. It takes about 15 mins to reach lambi and the start of the many tavernas bars and restaurants and another 15 mins stroll into Kos town and the fantastic harbour area. The breakfast is lovely and plentiful. We cannot wait for our next holiday there. Yammas!
