This was the worst holiday we have ever had. From day one when we were put in a dirty room with wires hanging out of the wall until the day we checked ourselves out to look for other accommodation. In my opinion this is not a 4* hotel and I was not alone thinking this as... more

We arrived at 8am after long transfer and were taken to a room which I can only describe as in the Dungeon. The corridor to the rooms was filthy and when we went into the room we were hit by the heat and the smell of grease. The sink in the bathroom was hanging off the wall... more

never again
this was a last minute deal so delighted when we got a 4* self catering apt at a good price. on arrival at hotel we stood on the steps and cried. al greenery around hotel dead and ants allover the step, we was taken to our apartment, ok on first impressions but then wanted a drink, no cups, saucers, plates kettle etc. went to speak to receptionist who told us he would sort, we got showered and changed and then went for a walk, on arrival back true to his word all cutlery etc there. bathroom sink held together with double sided sticky tape, no towels for 2 days, had arguement with manager who was drunk and he just laughed in my face, he did appologise the next day. every one we spoke to had had the same arrival as us. this is definately not 4*, apparently the manager had informed the uk travel industry that it had been downgraded the year before but they are still selling as 4*. staff are very young and are in attendace of the local tourism college.'. labour was cheap. air conditioning doesnt work, blows out warm air! no entertainment at all on site and bar usually closed for 1am. no internet cafe or turkish bath but there was massage avaiable. pool area lovely but dirty, tables never washed down. on last couple of days pool began to be cloudy and quite a few of the younger guests became ill. manager and deputy more interested in having a drink and a laugh than dealing with guests complaints
Absolutely awful
We were literally dumped at this hotel as our rep told us our hotel had been overbooked and we would have to stay for 2 nights. What a long 2 days. The room was awful, the shower broken. We were shown this on arrival and he did not care. The toilet well apeared not to have ever been cleaned. As for the air conditioning never worked. Food was put out and just left there. The pool not very good. One of the dividing protection screens for the childrens pool was missing and a light with its cables was allowed to float in the main pool!!!!! Nothing whatsoever in the area or anywhere within a reasonable walking distance. Told there was a beach. Well sand like soil next to the sea. Would not rate this in anyway.
holiday from hell
we booked to stay in the vilion for 2 weeks when we got there we could,nt believe the hotel, we were told it was a 4 star it was more like 1 star i would'nt even give it a 2 star , we were half board the food was that bad that no one ate it, all there was for dinner every nite was spaggetti, chips, and a suces with some salads no one ever went in. The staff smoke even in the massage rooms the air con was blowing out hot air, we were soaked with sweat all thought the night. The doors looking out to the pool do not lock i could open them from the outside. the in side of the toilet was black the sinks were discusting. The hotel is about 15 mins from in town centre in a taxi.( WHAT A HOLIDAY FROM HELL)
Absolutely Awful
Totally disappointing. Lack of all amenities. We were allocated incorrectly, to dowdy, gloomy rooms on arrival. Took a whole day of speaking to agents in London and Turkey before given rooms which were still not to our specifications. Provision of hot water and air condition in rooms extremely poor. Complaints fell on deaf ears. Management did not care at all and left hotel staff to shoulder the problems. Will not recommend the Violin Hotel to anyone. Poor hygiene. It was a nightmare and I was ready to return home by the end of the first day!
Not the sweet sound of the Violin
September 2006 A trip advisor, Edinburgh Booked this all inclusive stay for myself, partner, and various other family members between the ages of 6 and 26. The location was about 30 minutes walk from the town centre. The apartments were clean when we arrived but the service for cleaning was very poor while we were there. The food was very repetitive and we were only there for a week! Chips that had not been used at lunch time were served up cold as an afternoon snack or you could have had them re fried. They were even served up with fresh chips in the evening! The entertainment was diabolical and finished for the season on the Wednesday, (we arrived on the Monday) which was a relief for everyone. The staff were friendly enough but the whole place was run on a shoe string. I believe it has only recently changed to all inclusive and I think the should return to self catering. Be careful when you are paying for any bar bills, make sure you do it the day you check out as we had paid for some through the week and then charged again on the day of departure. As our transport to the airport was waiting for us we could not argue, as we did not want to miss our flight. I love Turgutreis, but would never return to these apartments, or recommend them to anyone.
so bad could,nt think of anything funny
we have just returned 18/09/06 from the violin hotel there was 11 of us in our party 9 adults 2 children . we booked 1 week all inclusive they must think different there . on arrival we had to wait 2 hours for one of our so called appartments to be ready all were very shabby and dirty the staff were not at all helpfull and realy miserable. all our so called appartments were supposed to have balconys the room my wife and i had did not just lots of windows that did not lock one of which came open as it pleased. meals where at set times every day and consisted of, chicken, pasta and chips every meal . drinks you had a choice of the local beer , vodca , gin and a local drink called raki anything else from the bar you had to pay for as well as ice creams and snacks in between meals, hot water im sure they turned off a set times in the day as most of the time there was none. other things such as a free turkish bath for ten pounds an indoor swimming pool empty and full of furniture . the open air pool was quite good apart from the area around it was very slipery while sitting around the pool music played over and over again much of it containing foul laguage not good when children of 8 and under are playing. all the so called apartments over look the pool area where all the entertainment is carried out and is somtimes very loud so no chance of any peice and quiet if you wantrd an early night or to get small children to sleep. on our last night there we had to pay 20 pounds to keep 1 roon as were not being collected for the airport until 3.30 am we were constantly hounded to hand back the key and clear the room after we had paid this then as we were leaving we realised we had booked for 7 nights so we should have all kept our rooms (more unesesery cost) i could carry on and on about the violin hotel but the more i write the more upset and angry i get.
Definately not 4*
Thank God only there for one week, more like a 2 star at best, rooms shabby but large, nice views of pool & sea, poor cleanliness, food very boring, as if chef had very limited budget, booked "all inclusive", but very limited local drinks, unpalatable gin, very limited menu and inflexible meal times, nicer drinks were expensive, ice creams not free. Staff unfriendly and obstructive, would not recommend this place to anyone-- don't go. Lastly, there was loud music blasting out of speakers by the pool, conversation around the pool was impossible, this was from 10.00am till 11.00pm, what a lovely peaceful week we had!!!!!
not a 4 star.
The hotel is a 2 star not a 4 as rated. Hotel o.k for a weeks stay but not 2. Food cooked well but repetative. Mainly chicken and meatballs as main dishes. Chef tries hard to vary dishes. Cleanliness is an issue - the hotel is cleaned but staff are not provided with cleaning products to make is clean enough. We actually bought cleaning products for the staff and they tried to clean everywhere with them. Pool was clean and sunbathing area was fine as not much else to do as an adult. Entertainment staff good with the children and try hard. Main management are not very helpfull if you have a complaint. Area quiet and pleasant and main town centre a 40 min walk from hotel. Would visit area again but I would not visit this hotel again.
Nice Hotel
I stayed at this hotel for two weeks, I had a really nice time. The food was nice although it did get a little bit boring after two weeks. The rooms were kept quite clean and the maids went in everyday. The entertainment was not brilliant but the entertainer always tried to do a show or something when he could and we had a real laugh. The pool was nice and the staff were all freindly although many of them didnt speak very much English they still tried to be as helpful as possible. Theres not really all that much to do for children, but all in all I had a good holiday and I would definetly go back again.
Clear water
Violin Butik review Hotel advertised as 4* certainly not! 4* facilities (at a stretch), 2* accommodation. However, food very good varied and well cooked. Very few sandy beaches and what there is are tiny, one compensation is water crystal clear and mainly flat calm.
