i have been to the destan 3 times and going again this june for 17 night looking forward to it.The staff are swell and danny the waiter never stops all day long if youneed anything just ask and its there no problem the area is very good there is nothing i did not like the rooms are very good very clean

we went to destan hotel in june 2011. it was a fantastic holiday great pool rooms were very nice staff were fantastic, i would book here again next year but this time i am taking my two children and i want all inclusive i only wish they did this here :(

location is great just 2 minutes walk from the town but the music is not loud and hardly heard at night. the rooms are clean big enough have a big shower lovely balcony plasma tv cleaned daily and to a good quality. all the staff are very welcoming and friendy. pool games... more

Just returned from turkey , spent 11 nights at the hotel Destan in Hisaronu , we could not fault the hotel or the location. The staff at the hotel were fantastic we would recommed this hotel to any one . Hope to return there next year.

Excellent hotel polite staff,
rooms cleaned daily,
2 bars one by each pool
Only down point is no food or drink allowed in from outside,
other than that 9/10 excellent highly recommended

Friendly and Excellent Location from A TripAdvisor Member
The Destan is a family run hotel located just a few yards from the main street in Hisaronu, yet it is quite quiet and has views of the mountains. The attractive accommodation has a spacious reception, a small friendly bar and a good size swimming pool and terrace. All rooms and bathrooms are clean and bright, of decent size and have a balcony. The typical Turkish breakfast is taken on the sunny terrace. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Destan Has Its Faults, But.... from ROASTEDTURKEY
My wife & I have just returned from 14 nights at the Destan. The first thing which is odd is that to enter & exit the hotel you have to go through the hotel bar which was often filled with smoke & being a none smoker was not appreciated. Our room (1st floor) was basic for a 3 star Hotel, but not having been to Turkey before this could be the norm. There was a tv in the room which seemed to have only one channel (in Turkish) although most people including myself would not be bothered by this. The balconies are very small, just enough room for 2, the wooden seats provided do not have cushions anyway so after a few minutes get uncomfortable. There was a hair drier in the room which didnt work but this was sorted out after a 2nd request to reception. The toilet was very noisy, more like a hammer drill going, Im sure the people next door must have thought I was doing a bit of DIY. An earlier review mentioned the noisy corridor, we also found any noise seemed to reverbarate. The Hotel does have some good points! The staff are hard working (dont know when they sleep) & friendly. The rooms and pool areas are kept clean & tidy. The buffet breakfasts consist of Corn flakes, bread, cheese, tomato, egg, salami etc. An English breakfast is 8 ytl, we didnt have one but they looked very good. We did have an evening meal at the Destan which was 15 ytl per person & we really thought good value. All in all a basic hotel with good & bad points.

Just back from the Destan 23rd July - got off to a bad start as we arrived at 5am to find Hisoronu quiet except for the only loud music coming from the Destan Bar - our thoughts were "Oh my God what have we done". However, things improved from then on in. The staff are very friendly but seemed to have a knack of short changing you (1 Lira/40p) happened once or twice, just something to look out for. The pool areas were always immaculately clean as was the food terraces, etc. The rooms are basic but adequate. The location of the Destan is perfect for strolling out into Hisoronu - you do experience loud music occasionally from neighbouring bars (some guests we spoke to it didn't bother them) but if this is something that might annoy you, simply take ear plugs, as I wouldn't let it stop you booking the Destan as it is a good little hotel, well situated, good food, friendly staff. Suggestion: pay a little more when dining out. We found the cheaper 'eat all you can' restaurants - you get what you pay for. The Sun Trap was a lovely restaurant with excellent service.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Destan,this was our 6th time in Turkey and 2nd time in Hisaronu,the hotel had it's faults,we had no maid service for 4 days the second week,so toilet bins were not emptied or towels changed(i think they had staff issues!) the rest of the hotel staff are very young and very good at what they do,the hotel/gardens are very clean,two great pool area's always kept immaculate,with loads of free sunbeds and brolly's,a nice bar area with friendly staff,reasonably priced drinks and snacks for during the day.maybe a bit of noise during the night with people coming and going along the tiled corridors,but all in all a good value for money holiday. Out and about.. Kaya (ghost town) is worth a trip pop in to Muzzy's for a drink and maybe lunch. I would not hesitate to go back to the Destan. Have a great holiday in Hisaronu!

4 of us have just returned from a stay at the Destan all females age ranges 16-45. This hotel is fantastic value for money & although it is basic it is very clean, towels changed every day (you don't even get that at some 4 star hotels). Pool area outstanding and one of the cleanest I have seen in Turkey. Breakfast was typical turkish, olives, bread, cheese. eggs etc but was enough. We suggested some fresh fruit and yoghurt. Staff are really friendly especially Veisy who looks after the bar & pool area. I had read some of the review before we went and had mixed feelings, but overall had a fantastic holiday and the staff from hotel helped make it so. The prices for drinks and meals at the hotel are very competative also, as the hotels tend to be a little more expensive. If you like myself are feeling a little put off by some of the reviews don't worry you'll have a fantastic time. just hope the temp has gone down a little bit as it was in the late 50's. You have aircon in room (£14 wk) and safe in the room (£7 per week). Hope everyone who is thinkin g of visiting theDestan have an excellant holiday like we did. We are already in the process of booking up for next year.

Th Destan in Hiseranou, Is a welcoming, and stunning hotel. It should be a 4*. The swimming pool wasto die for, and the bar staff are such a laugh (vasey!!!). Theres a restaurant on the site with lovely tasty dishes. Reception are very kind and helpfull always saying , morning or goodnight to ensure you recieve the best service while you stay. The rooms are extremely clean and include tv,safe,double bed(in our room),and a bathroom which was kept in top condition. Highly reccommeded to stay here!
My trip to Gumbet 2006 from Kerry33
Visited Gumbet in July 2006. Stayed in Destan Hotel, very basic, just two single beds and a wardrobe. Plumbing old. Had room cleaning daily. Swimming Pool on site. The owners are Irish and Turkish and were very nice and helpful and staff were friendly which made up for the lack of facilities. Very central to the town of Gumbet and beach. Found the shop-owners very friendly as soon as you get over the haggling! Beach was nice. Visited Bitez nearby by Bus and the beach there is just fabolous. Went on a boat trip and it was brilliant. Many lovely restaurants in the vicinity of Gumbet and also took in a shopping trip to the market and of course visited the turkish bath and had the best massage ever. Girls - dont get your nails or eyebrows done before your holidays as it is way cheaper to get done in Gumbet at the local Beauty/Barber/Hairdresser salon. They do just everything in the Beauty Box. Hope to return again this year. Destan Hotel suited our purposes and is great for someone on a Budget, however, there are more plush hotels available.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in June 06 for a week, we should of booked to stay for 2!! it really was that good, I'm a travel agent so i spent ages looking for the right hotel and i've sent 3 more couples to the hotel since!! The location of the hotel is second to none, right by the main street. There's loads of bars and places to eat near by. go on as many day trips as you can! they are all well worth it. This was my first time in Turkey and we plan to return in the summer of 2008 but only because were going to the Bahamas in 2007.

I stayed on in the Destan Hotel for 2 weeks in June, It has a 2star rating and is basic but it has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are really nice,the apartment was cleaned daily and the complex could not be faulted for its cleanliness-also the location of the property was very good walking distance to all amenities. Worth a visit if your on a budget holiday.

All I have to say is this the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff could not possibly be anymore friendly, helpful and fun. The lay out is beautiful it has a fanastic pool great new bar, and is a 1minute walked to the shops, resturants and clubs. This was the second time I have stayed at Destan, and each time it gets more enjoyable as the staff remember and make you feel so welcome. I now live in Australia but when my sister contacted me from the UK about wanting to return to Turkey I was so excited and agreed to it straight away it was an extremley long flight for me as I had to travel to the UK then onto Turkey but I have to say it was without a doubt worth it. This is a must stay hotel!!!!!!!!
