When I read some reviews about the Arya apartments I was expecting the worse, the reality was so different.
The Arya is low cost, but for the price, high in value. Yes its basic but its clean, Self catering facilities are not the best( big fridge freezer though), you can make coffee boil eggs and do pasta but why, there is wonderful food all around and you can eat in the Arya restaurant at a discount, you will soon get to know the waiters and bar staff they are amazingly friendly and helpfull, as were most of the people we met. Just a five minute walk to the sea, great eating with tables right on the beach, with the water lapping just feet away. Oh one last thing, there is a Turkish bath at the Arya and for the same price as a couple of fake designer Tshirts from the local shops the experience of a Turkish bath will last much longer, we had two. Our two teenage children had a great time and hardly left the pool and bar. we will defiantly return.

come back from turkey 2 weeks ago first time there.the hotel was good the staff were very helpful and talkative. The rooms were basic. Found that the floors in the rooms were very dirty and never cleaned.the cleaners do empty bins and give out clean towels. The pool side was very nice all though had some noisey kids near the end off the week... The pool side bar staff very friendly. Abdul was ok very funny guy.. If you like alot of good nights out this is the place to go very close to loads of great bars my fav was the millenium bar very nice staff... Also this hotel only 2 mins from the beach. Will defo go here again.

Just back from the Arya apts where we stayed for 1 week with Direct Holidays on a B&B basis. Arrived in the early hours of Sunday and shown to a double room on the ground floor. I refused to stay there as the room was so small, if I had lain in the bed, my feet would have been in the Bathroom !! Fella at reception showed us to another room upstairs which was bigger and had a balcony. Unfortunately the door on the balcony didn't lock. We had no seats or table in the room which meant we had to sit on the beds. There was no mirror in the room and my hubby had to unscrew the one in the bathroom so that I could dry my hair. I complained again and for an extra 70tl we moved into an apartment at the back. This was much better and started to enjoy my holiday. Found the staff to be overall very helpful espescially the boys in the Restaurant. We were treated like old friends. The Turkish bath is fab and Abdul will pursue you until you agree. HOWEVER, the Reception Staff and in particular the cleaners (contradiction in terms !) leave a lot to be desired. I saw the cleaners going into apartments to clean with a mop bucket but no water ! Our towels werent changed the whole time we were in tha apartments and the bins were NEVER emptied. In saying that, I would go back but only if the Boss gives the cleaners their P45s !!! The fella who dealt with Personnel did tell me he was going to have a clear out and get Professional Cleaners in.The first job they need to do is replace carpets in the halls, stairs and landings. They are DISGUSTING !! Perhaps he should get Painters & Decorators in too. Rooms and apartments are terribly shabby. Sorry my review is so negative but we paid a good few bob for this holiday and are bitterly disappointed

This hotel is very basic and if your looking for somewhere to shower and sleep it's perfect. Don't expect it to be clean though and also put your money/expensive things in the safe (or with you!) The staff are okay...one restaurant staff member was very rude and i actually told him where to go one day because of it. Our holiday rep was Nathan who was totally useless, he got everything wrong, and then didn't speak to us for the WHOLE holiday.
The best places in Gumbet is Ali's bar and No name bar...great cocktails and lots of fun (Although i know that the charming boys of Ali's have moved on to Ciesta's so its worth a visit for an entertaining night!!)
The men in Turkey (apart from Ali's boys) can either be too over friendly or quite rude, don't get too drunk in front of them.
all in all, great nightlife, some good food (down by the beach) and great entertainment. Will defo be back but probs not to these apts.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday in Gumbet staying in the Arya Apartments. Nice and spacious 2 bedroom apartment both with twin beds a side table and a wardrobe. Lounge area with a sofa bed so can sleep 5. Not enough untensils to self cater but ok for takeaways. no glasses just 4 small cups. Large patio facing the pool which was very private and surrounded by shrubs.
We paid for air condintioning but as the unit is very old and placed by the entrance door, it was vertually useless so don't bother!!
The furnishing is quite dated and the curtains fall off when you pull them which is quite annoying!! Bathroom is spacious with a shower over the bath toilet and basin. One night the shower wouldn't work and the staff fixed it straight away.I must mention that the towels are changed every three days plus bedding and bins changed daily. However the actual bathroom and floors are never cleaned and our feet were filthy from the floors.
The pool area is nice but no where near enough sunbeds and only 6 brollys available make it an unbearable heat. If you wish to put your towels down on the way out or back from your evening out you may be lucky in securing a sunbed but otherwise, the beach is best.
2 minutes walk takes you to the beach where sunbeds are free so long as you buy drinks or food from the bars that look after them. Roys place to the right of the beach road has great food and lovely staff...their boat trip is very good as well!!
As we could'nt get round the pool, we seeked out another and had been recommended the hotel parkim ayaz or Cossie Beach area. It's found roughly in the middle of the beach and you can sit either round the pool or on the beach...great staff, atmosphere and food!! Entertainment also good of an evening!!
Overall the Arya is in a great location near to beach, restaurants, shops and bar street and is not noisy at night once you close the doors. Quite basic but comfortable and somewhere to sleep and shower. We had a great deal from Direct holidays so good value holiday.
Try out Smileys for good food and stay on for a great evening...staff are brilliant!!
Sue's place for fish and chips and the Windmill Restaurant and the chinese are excellent.Would definitely go back to Gumbet as something for all the family

i stayed in the ayra hotel in gumbet just me and my friend for a week finishing last week. it was just us two girls who are both 18/19 and we were tortured with the male staff at the hotel, they all knew we were staying alone so tortured us making dirty comments and we couldnt even eat in the restuarant without them coming down and sitting while we were eating trying to arrange for us to meet them after work, one boy sat up til we came in at 4 waitin on us then ask could he sleep with me! our rep from thomas cook was Nathan, he seemed like an ok young man but one nite we met him out he tried to take us home to his house and wen we wouldnt go he huffed so it made the holiday awkward. the last night we left stuff in the room such as a hairdryer as it had a turkish plug and also bikinis which were wet so we couldnt take home, i also left a bag with my camera in the room, i went to the hotel manager who didnt want to let me go up2 the room then reluctantly did let me go in, i said to the cleaners did they find anythin they said nothin was found room was empty which i knew was lies i then seen my hairdryer and bag in their trolley, a man took the bag away, obviousli took my camera out of it and brought it back empty, they then pretended they could not speak english, the hotel manager then also pretended she couldnt speak english.

Had a brilliant time, the staff were absolutely lovely especially Martin on reception who was so helpful and accommodating. Toogood and Ali at the pool bar were the nicest, polite, gentle staff you could ever hope to meet. The restaurant staff were lovely too and didn't hassle you if you decided not to eat in the restaurant each night. The only person who was a proverbial pain was Abdul who ran the Turkish bath. For the first 4 days he hassled you to have a Turkish bath and when he realised you were not interested he didn't even attempt to be polite and blanked you completely. Also two couples we met who had gone for a Turkish bath were quoted £40.00 per couple and when it came to paying were told it was £100, as they had had various treatments, but at no time did Abdul tell them they were extra. Needless to say they were not happy.
The rooms were to say the least basic, but I guess you get what you pay for. However we had been told by our Tour Operator that all rooms had a balcony, but when we arrived at 2 a.m. on Thursday morning we found that two couples from our party did not have balconies. However we spoke to Martin later in the day and because they were full up he couldn't do anything, but there were people going on Saturday and he would move us then. True to his word he came and found us on Saturday at 7 p.m. and we moved. The balcony was only big enough for one chair, but at least we had somewhere to hang things out to dry.
Gumbet was the perfect place for everyone, our party of 10 ranged from age 8 - 75 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. If you get the chance go to Smileys Bar, it's just mad and the boys there are lovely and friendly, can be a bit risque at times, but not deliberately.

I have recently just come back from the Arya in Gumbet with my boyfriend, dad and brother, and it was really loverly, the apartment was clean and tidy, and the rooms were cleaned every other day, bin's etc every day.The pool was loverly and alway kept clean. All the staff in the apartment were very friendly, the food was loverly also!! There was a turkish bath on site and Abdul the man who runs this, was very pushy for you to have a turkish bath. In the end we just ignored him and he gave up, if you are intrested in having one fair enough but it gets a bit much if you dont. It was in the 47 degree mark bit of a difference to the UK. Had an excellent time and would recommend it. Hasan is very pleasent and the man behind the pool bar too. definatly go back again.

The best holiday i have had in years !! Arya apts are fantastic, the staff are amazing - especially Ali, Hasan and Bayram - love them all. My apt was cleaned daily to a high standard with fresh towels and bedding. Wasn't too keen on the restaurant, as it was a little expensive, but as Arya is close to Bar street there is no problem finding somewhere else to eat. The beach is a stones throw away and easily accessible and a taxi rank is close by as well. Overall i cannot find fault with Arya and i definately didnt want to leave.

We have just got back from the Arya & it was fantastic, rooms are basic, but to me,we knew we wasnt going to have luxury from the price that we paid, but as long as i ahve a clean bed & a shower,im happy & so should everyone be!!! U need somewhere to wash & sleep, after all i didnt intend on staying in my room. The pool bar is great, yes there is some noise, but if u enjoy urself throughout the day as much as we did,u would be that tired u would sleep!!! It does say in the brochure about the noise,so it wouldnt come as a suprise. The staff are great, toogud, ali are just the best, they make u so welcome, theres lots of nice staff, too many to mention,so sorry guys if u happen to read this. The food in the restaurant is lovely & very good value for money. I would recommend a turkish bath,it leaves your skin feeling soft & clean & ive got the best tan ever! The only thing i would say about the apartment is that i think it could do with a toaster. Sound silly, but, missed havin 1. If ur thinking of going to the Arya,i strongly recommend it,it doesnt cost the earth,& if ur expecting 5 star accomodation (which i think some people do) then u would be paying a lot more for ur holiday,oh & if u do go please let me know if toogud is wearing the Nottingham Forest top that we gave him. Will see him soon anyway cos after typing this i need a holiday!!!

Hi just got back from this b&b, had 10 days here, the place is run by a father and two sons, the father is really nice and a gentleman, the sons ok but with hidden adgenders, (making money behind his back i think ) on arrival we were given an option to perchase safe, for £20 which we had, the safe was in reception and needed two keys to open, (where other people can see whats going in there ) we then got offered air conditioning for £40 which we didn't have, we then got offered a room upgrade to an appartment for £90 sterling NOT tl , which is rediculous, we had not even seen the room, we refused, we were shown to our room, it was small but ok for bed and breakfeast, we then noticed the bathroom door frame was leaning against the wall, we got one of the sons up to show him this, mainly for him to see that we had not done it and he started opening all the rooms showing us other rooms ? ( spat his dummy comes to mind ) anyway we declined and they had the door fixed, well screwed rouflly, there are no tv's in the hotel, had food in the evening was really nice restraunt staff really nice food nice as well, had breakfast next mornning, option turkish or english, we had english which was nice, next morning went down for breakfast, when the cheff explained english breakfast was 4 TL, which we said ok no problem, the son come over and said it was 8 TL we had breakfast went to pay and the other son wanted to charge for coffe on top, this was the last straw for us, we did not spend another penny at this b&b, which is a shame as it is a nice b&b with nice employees, accept the two sons, good location, nice pool area, could do with a good clean throughout the hotel, change of carpets throughout, would not stay at this hotel again as there are places like baba hotel which is the same price and right on the front,
October for 10 days.
