Cala Azul Park Hotel Reviews
" We have just been for a weeks holiday... "
Submitted By: Mrs E Turner
We have just been for a weeks holiday to this lovely resort. Me, my husband, son who is 16, his 19 year old friend, my Mum and 89 year old Grandma and we all loved it. First off the Cala Azul Park is clean and the staff friendly. When we got there I asked for accomodation downstairs for my Mum and Grandma and this was done without any fuss. The apartment was comfortable with a bath/shower room and one bedroom, lounge, small kitchen (we only used for snacks and tea/coffee making). The maids cleaned and changed beds and towels regularly. We could sit on our balconies and see the sea very picturesque. We were near the pool and reception area and a short walk to shops and bars.We were just far enough away not to be disturbed at night by revellers. The pool area had plenty of loungers and there was even a small sandy beach within walking distance if you wanted to get away from all the splashing and noise of the pool. Here you can hire loungers and parasols for 3.40 euros each per day. We stayed at the pool side as we all love swimming. The main beach which is a small inlet is a 5 min walk away but is down lots of steps but these are not steep so are do-able we went twice but it did get crowded quick. We went self catering so do not know what the hotel food was like. Someone had recomended taking a travel kettle and we are glad we did as cooking facilities are basic. When eating out it pays to shop around. We found a lovely friendly restaurant called Karen II that did well cooked food and lots to choose from, from about 4 euros upwards. We found a bar called Carabel that had happy hour from 8-10pm every night buy one drink get one free so this kept us going for a couple of hours plus the owner is a mad karaoke fan so the entertainment was fun, they also had sky tv so the footy fans were out enjoying themselves. The local Spa shop provided us with drink to take to our apartment that was very reasonable. The walk to the main shops etc is 10 mins and good for duty free shopping. We saw the entertainment twice at the hotel, Sister Act and Rocky Horror Show and the effort that went into these was a credit to the entertainment team who also did sports in the day. The water polo was favourite with our two teenagers. There was bingo at 5pm when you also had happy hour buy one drink get one free including wine, beers cocktails and milkshakes which my Grandma and I loved. Only one thing is that prices have increased for food and drink but so has the quality and isnt much more than we pay here. All in all we wanted to stay longer than a week and would go back any time.

Wonderful holiday at The Cala Azul Park with my grandchildren all under 8. The entertainment for children was fabulous....bit worried about The Magic Man's language though. ! Rooms excellent standard, well kept and ext. clean. Loveley outlook food wonderful in choice and quality...except not very good on tea making. My first time in Mallorca everything went smoothly with THOMSON......Brilliant time thank you
" Just got back from a fab holiday at... "

Just got back from a fab holiday at this resort and these apartments. The apartments are 1st class in my opinion, very clean, spacious, air con, large balcony which you can get to from the bedroom or lounge area, basic kitchenette (but who cooks on their hols!), cleaners are very thorough,a decent size bathroom, tv (mainly german and spanish channels the odd english one, on the whole I would say impressive. The pool area was very nice there always appeared to be plenty of beds,to the left of the pool area(we were in block D) theres a bar/snack area, behind this there is a sunbathing area with beds if you aren,t bothered with the sea. A further rfew yards you come to the Esmerelda beach, a beautiful setting, extremely clear, in fact we saw either a large squid or small octopus on the bottom of the sea, loads of fish, snorkelling is a must, but the only reason I didn,t give it 10/10 is because there aren,t any sunbeds by the sea, there are some as you walk down the beach if you go to the right they are on a platform, you are still on the beach sort of but I am fussy and like a bed right by the sea, therefore a lilo is a must if you like to be next to the sea,it does get very busy we found if we went down about 2.30/3.00 you could get a pitch quite close to the sea so as to get a bit of breeze because it was very hot at the bak of the beach.Nightlife, there was loads to do,didn,t see much at the complex we had teenagers so it wasn,t realy there scene but about 15mins stroll away we found the tropical gardens who had entertainment and food available. We saw Robbie Williams, The Temptations,Rock Evolution and Abba again (all tributes obviously, but very good). Also as you come out from the reception to the top of the road if you take a right you find Carabels, this was the only bar that we found a Happy Hour in it was bogof between 8 and 10 and then the fun began, all I will say is Mammy and the Mimmic man, go and find out it was good fun, and not far to crawl home.Food,we tried a couple of places but the best place for value for money, friendliness of the staff, and fast service, and of course tasty food was the Duke of Devonshire, their sunday roast was mouth watering and their salads were massive and the sangria went down very well!!!On the whole a lovely place to go you can either stay close to homeor venture into town which was 15 to 20 mins stroll away, we will be going back at some stage, give it a try, it will be worth it..
" Just returned after a 2 week stay... "

Just returned after a 2 week stay with my wife and 2 children aged 14 and 13.
The apartments were in a hotel complex and were spotlessly clean. The towels and bed linen were changed regularly and the hotel staff were very friendly.
You have to get up about 7:30 to get your towels on the sun loungers around the pool otherwise there were none available. The complex is situated about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Cala D’or which suited us, as it was a bit quieter. A taxi ride into town was only 5 Euros.
The food in the restaurants around the Marina was excellent and very good value for money, we ate at the S'ancora restaurant which was superb. We didn't eat at the Hotel but it did look good as well. There is a take away available in a restaurant just by the hotel which was great for snacks etc. There is also a supermarket by the foyer which is open 7 days a week till 10pm at night.
The Starfish boat trips were superb and a must for everyone. The Pirates night out is also a must although a bit hectic. Went to the waterparks by Magaluf which again were very good.
We didn't bother hiring a car as we used the local buses to get about. The Island is quite big and didn't fancy the long journeys, as the traffic was quite busy as it was probably the busiest 2 weeks of the year.
Anyone going to this complex should have a great time.
