This was our first camping trip with the family and we decided to go to Green Hill Farm. This is a lovely site and the staff are extremely helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The toilet block although being old were always kept very clean. We had a look at the new block in the Adult area and this was great, even had music! I believe next year the family area block will be done which will make this an excellent site.
The fishing was great, pulled out some nice Carp out of Horseshoe to around 18lb, the kids loved the games room and play area - especially the zip wire!
The on-site burger van was extremely good, recomend the chips and they even have a security guy who was very helpful and put a stop to anyone making too much noise.
Must admit if ~I had read some of the other reviews I would not have chosen Green Hill Farm for our holiday so thank god I didn't as we all had a fantastic time and have already booked to return in August.

My husband and I were booked on this site for 12 days, I just wished we had read some of these reviews beforehand. We phoned to book, I asked if they did a fully serviced pitch, with a hardstanding, electric, waste and water tap, I was told yes so I booked. When we arrived and saw our pitch, it was hardly hard standing, a bit of rubble and mostly mud and dirt, no waste drain, no tap, the toilets and showers were terrible. There wasn't even any soap in some of the toilets or anything to dry your hands on. A good clean up of the facilities every day might have been a good idea. Not worth the money paid. We had to stay for four days, until we were able to book into a Caravan Club site which had a cancellation, it cost us less per night and the facilities were lovely clean and hygenic. By the way the site is not AA rated any more the AA stopped doing that over ten years ago, I used to work there!

Having made the mistake of not booking our usual campsite ocknell forgetting it was bank holiday weekend!! we finally found one with spaces!! its situated on the outskirts off the new forest. Although the new owners have put in for new toilet block they have been refused permission but are putting in again , they are much needed!! Felt they were very over priced we paid £74 for 2 nights for a 2 man and oneman tent!no electric! we heard several caravan campers complain. They did have a take away van again overpriced £2 for coffee ok in an emergengcy , bike hire again pricey compared to bike hire near by and you have to pay for map which was sold out !!! most bike hire give maps with bike! they have a good little play area for toddlers and a games room 4 older children which is suppose to close at dusk as there are no lights , but kids were still in playing in dark with torches with no parents not the owners fault but felt there was a risk with health and safety of the kids.

My wife and I stayed on the site for 4 nights. The first thing we noticed as we drove down the driveway was the huge electricity pylon - which is no fault of the site but still is unsightly. Then the plastic barriers and DIY CCTV cameras everywhere. The lady in the 'reception' hut was friendly enough. As we entered the site to our pitch we noticed the site fields seemed to have been fenced off in strange shapes. The field we were in had uneven boggy ground and a portable cabin shower/toilet block. Inside it was filthy dirty, smelly, dark and cramped. I could only just get into the toilet cubicle and close the door. It was horrible to use the showers too. It was like a watering can. Gravity fed from tanks above the block I think. We went for a walk around the site and their ponds/lakes and we saw more small DIY cctv cameras everywhere. Its a grubby site with filthy facilities but the prices are as high as the surrounding sites which are far nicer with well kept grounds. We wouldn't go back.

Just arrived back from a lovely weekend at Green Hill farm Camping & Caravan Park. The new owners & staff were very helpfull and the many improvements that have been made are great. The revamped showers/toilets are very clean and good luck with the planning application to build a new shower block.
- Advice: Go and enjoy this beautiful site!

We have just purchased this lovely but neglected site on the edge of the New Forest. It will be a family run site and we are retaining the adults only area by the wildlife and fishing lake, and opening the rest of the site to families.
We have a huge plan of improvements that we will be implementing over the next few years, including a new toilet block for the 2010 season.
Right now we can offer a warm welcome, and I hope that anyone who has been put off the site in the last few years will give us another go!

After using this campsite for the past 2 years for an annual get-together. Our group of ten mid thirtys booked our weekend in February with the campsite.
Previous comments from the site included.
" very well behaved"
"most well behaved group we have had"
When we arrived we checked in, at the same time the owner arrived and it was immediatley apparant that we were going to have a problem. She started whispering to her site manager about where we were going to be situated, how many of us were there etc....
We were driven to our pitch and started to unpack. 5 minutes later the site manager arrived saying that the 5 of us that had arrived could stay, but the rest of our group were not welcome. The other five who were on their way from Hertfordshire, London and Buckinghamshire and were not contactable on their phones. The site manager said it was not his decision and that we would have to take it up with the owner.
After trying to explain that we had been there before and were sensible people who just wanted a weekend away from the norm and that our past visits were trouble free, the owner who I can only descibe as a draconian spinster said. It's my campsite and I decide who stays and who doesn't. She refused to say which regulating body she was a member of, and was just plain rude and obnoxious.
The silver lining to this story was that we found another campsite 10 miles away which was BRILLIANT.
Green Hill is a disgrace to the new forest and although the site is attractive, the facilities are sub standard with a very unfreindly owner who takes pompous to another level.
I would avoid at all costs if I were you.

We used this as a caravan site and we were not impressed with it at all! Although we arrived a little late we were told to sleep in their car park until the morning even though we had already paid for it.
To add salt to the wound, there were others who entered the site after us! The owner had a very dictorial attitude and was not helpful in the slightest. We were not shown any of the amenities or facilities.
Their dumping station was situated next to the camping field to which there were no signposts except "camping area".
We certainly will not be using this site again with our motor home.

We went to Green hill farm the year before last in 2009 when it had just been taken over, we enjoyed it very much so peacfull, we fished nearly every day stayed on the adults only site, it was lovely and our two jack russells enjoyed the lovely walks out on the common which joins the site. We loved it so much we are going back the first week of august this year, just can't wait.
