" wonderful "

We stayed for a week. you could not fault the hotel, the room was clean ,the towels changed daily, the staff were friendly and helpful , there was always a good variety of food and plenty of it, if i was being very picky the only problem we had was the coffee machine at the pool bar kept breaking they need a new one. Only takes 10 mins to walk in to altinkum or the bus is outside the back of the hotel and takes a few mins and costs about 60p.The entertainment manager keeps things busy with darts bowls water polo and lots more, i would go back again.

Advice: Altinkum is a great place to visit

Activities: saturday market is worth a visit but be prepared to haggle .

" A great family holiday "

We booked this hotel very last minute. Scepticle of reviews as always.
We had a great time. Lovely hotel, great position to get into town. Spotless. Rooms a bit tight for a family of 4 but for how long you are in them? Was not a problem. Our children's ages 7 and 12.
Lovely staff which couldn't do enough for you.
Food excellant. I have a very awkward eater aged 7 and had no problems with the choice in 2 weeks.
Drinks available on allinclusive ample and NOT watered down. The beer just a different strength to our strong lagers downed in the UK. A lovely drink in the hot sun!Only dissappointment no cocktail of the day all inclusive.
Animacion team worked really hard .
If you want a chilled holiday this is the place to go for a family to know your children will be very happy too.

" brilliant "

Well to be honest i dont know what some people moan about. i mean you go abroad to a diffrent country to eat their kind of food not ours. This hotel is lovely. The staff are really friendly and the food is brilliant. We arrived their at something like 3:30am and we went straight to bed the rooms were very clean. At breakfast there is always something diffrent and there is normally someone making omelettes or fried eggs outside the restruant. If you want sunbeds then you need to get down and put towels on them early before they have gone. When you check in you get a towel card and this means you can get hotel towels instead of having to use your own but the kiosk doesn't open until 9am. The slide is alright but they allow floats down it and you could get hurt if one goes down after you. Its only for children though. There is a shop on the hotel site and a few bars just outside of the resort. Dolphin square is really good if you want to get all the fake designer clothes, and its cheap i know i got some nike air max trainers for something like 55 lira (£24) and their normally £60-65. None of the clothes look fake either. The waiters at the hotel can be a bit too friendly at times, such as passing notes and things but its quite funny. The market is good but if your going there then you need to be going early on in the day as it gets very hot walking around under them tent things. The only thing that lets the hotel down is some of the guests, because one night they was doing something in the resturaunt and dinner was a little late because of this, and some people were so rude they lined up outside the door waiting to go in, and then my nephew, who is 7 got told to get out of the way because a lady was hungry, just as he was getting his dinner, you can see why people abroad think english people are rude, not saying everyone is but its the truth. I would defonatly go to this hotel again and i recommened it.

Advice: i loved altinkum, were already looking for a holiday there next year.

Activities: the ala carte night at marina beach.

" good times "

I have to say that we all really enjoyed our stay, there were 3 of us 2 adults and 1 child ( apart from the odd notorious moaning, loud and rude Brits)the Turks were great and well mannered, friendly and a good laugh , very helpfull and not bad looking either!
Hotel rooms were big enough ( at the end of the day you dont go on holidat to sit in your room)cleaned dailt and the maids made patterns and animals on the bed from towels and bedding( they even made a flower from a toblerone that had melted and we left by the telly)
Plenty of choice in the food department also, fresh every day - fruit, veg, eggs- fried, scrambled, boiled and omelettes, turkish foods, chicken , rice, chips, loads of different cakes and puds etc etc.
Kids entertainment very good ( adults not so good)
at the end of the day keep the kids happy and the adults should be.
The drinks were ok, a bit weak ( just as well as the moaners would be un bearable when drunk), but unlimited until 11pm, then you had to pay
very handy for the 3rd beach - about 300mtrs out the back door
Day trips were good, based on 2 adults & 1 child costs were- boat trip including SKOL( havent had that since school)£38.00, jeep safariincluding dinner £32.00, turkish bath, scrub, massage and sauna £79.00( in hotel), water park £32.00
Met some great people from all over UK and had a laugh in kids pool soaking everyone ( got told off by moaners again and made to sit in naughty corner)
Would go back again , great value for money - approx £2000.00 for 3 for 2 weeks, where else can you get that , costs you more to holiday at home!!! GOOD TIMES an HAPPY DAYS!!!

Advice: Friendly people , good days out, value for money, still growing, nice beaches and marina

Activities: Boat trip, jeep safari, turkish bath, Nigels restaraunt in Dolphin Square, Sky Bar for Football

" Blackpool In The Sun "

Stay was OK not brilliant. There were a number of things that spoiled the holiday. Timeshare is sold at this hotel and the prospective Turkish clients receive VIP treatment. This means they are given priority over British paying guests which means you queue longer at the snack bar. When it is ice cream time between 3 and 4pm the measures given to British children (ice cream is only given to children) was no where near the same proportion as the timeshare guests got. One lick and the ice cream was finished, then the children had to queue again. You have to queue for your food and drink in the main restaurant whilst the timeshare guests have it brought to the table. The timeshare guests are given tall drinks glasses whilst British guests are given small whisky glasses with 9 pieces of ice in the glass. By far the worst thing that happened at this hotel with regards to the timeshare was the stealing of sunbeds - you only need to be looking in a different direction, talking to someone at the snack bar or be at lunch and your bed is gone. This is a 99% British hotel however you still need to get up for 6.00 am to guarantee your sunbed - leave it any longer and you may not get a sunbed. Obviously very annoying if you go to lunch and your sunbed is stolen by the timeshare people. Other annoying things are that the bar staff insist on giving soft drinks in small whisky glasses filled 3/4 full with ice. Given that temperatures exceeded 40 degrees they refused to give taller glasses and if you tried to outsmart them by saying you wanted 4 they would tell you 2 per person. Stupid rules!!! I went and complained however the bar staff refuse to give larger soft drinks. Food was OK - if you are a vegetarian you would love it here. However extremely rude manners and disgusting habits were often witnessed in the dining hall. This ranged from children and adults handling food and putting it back into the metal containers, queue jumping and agression by impatient adults and children. All in all breakfast, lunch and dinner was never a pleasant experience as the mentality of the holidaymakers with their inappropriate behaviour was absolutely disgusting. Made you ashamed to be British. After 4 days of this dinner madness we only went for breakfast, lunch and dinner at quieter times. Unfortunately many of the people who visited whilst we were there thought they were in Blackpool and treated the facilities in the hotel as if they owned it. This was very evident when you saw adults and children eating and drinking in the swimming pool, sitting with their feet up on the table and using the sofas as beds in the hotel reception. The Brits were also rude to staff and used phrases like get me, give me instead of asking politely and remembering to use the words please and thank you. Animation teamed worked hard getting people involved in activities however evening entertainment was poor. Definitely not a 5 star in fact we were told that the local officials have down graded this hotel to a 3 star as the hotel is not keeping on top of cleanliness standards. Only go to this hotel if you like Blackpool or Benidorm.

Top Tip
If you are booking this hotel don't arrange the shuttle bus transfer if you arrive during daytime hours. Bus journey takes hours as the shuttle bus is so old it can only travel on average at 30 mph and it stops for 30 minutes at a cafe/snack bar where you are expected to buy food and drink at inflated prices. Be wise source yourself a taxi and get there in half the time.
Don't buy any food or drink at Bodrum airport as prices are hiked up. For example in resort a can of Fanta is 1 lira 50 in Bodrum airport it is 11 lira.

" Not recomended for young girls.  "

I recently arrived back from a 11 day stay in turkey at the Garden of Sun hotel. The hotel was lovely and always clean so I cannot fault them for that. Although a few of the employees were very pervy. ALI on reception was over friendly. He made you feel quite uncomfortable whenever you walked past him on reception always commenting on our "beautiful eyes or bodies." The rest of the staff were very friendly and very helpful. The animation team cannot be faulted as they were always happy and energetic even though they worked strenuous hours everyday. In particular ELENA and ALEX were the nicest. There was always activities going on through-out the day and night for children and adults. The food varied every night in quality. Some days it could be very enjoyable and other nights we would go out for dinner and a slice of bread and a few potatoes were not enough to keep you going. The night club Zaya was always empty which is probably due to two of the very pervy men who worked there. The DJ and VOLKAN were very unprofessional towards us girls. Begging for kisses. In my eyes this is not acceptable. In town the night life was very good but I would not recommend it to young girls on their own. We were lucky as we met some charming gentlemen out there who looked after us. Santa Clara was the worst bar. The staff were very cheeky and try to charge outrageous amounts for there drinks once they know you have had a few beverages. We would not have stepped foot in the bar if it wasn't for being told we would be able to receive "free drinks" from some residents at our hotel. On a higher note the Boat trip was lovely, very good value for money as you stopped at bays with beautiful sea water and the food served on board was lovely for the price we paid. Turkey is a beautiful country with some very nice people but a warning to young girls as it is not a place for an "all girls holiday".

" ok but not 5 star!! "

Have just returned from an 11 night stay at the Garden of Sun. This was my 1st experience of Turkey and I don't think I'll go back. The hotel is kept clean and tidy but is spoilt by some very silly rules that are not needed. No food or drink, including water is supposed to be taken to your room, you are supposed to use the minibar provided at extortionate rates! While we were there several guests were stopped from taking water to their room even from the hotel shop! However this did not happen to us. The maids are the freindliest workers there with everyone else treating you as second class citizens. while we were there some of the advertised facilities were unavailable due to a large timeshare group doing taster days for the Turks, they were given priority everywhere, snack bar, drinks bar. The sales reps even waited for people to go to lunch then removed towels etc from sunbeds for them, when challenged they simply replied they had priority. Reception did not want to know if you complained about them. beware if your wristband snaps, make sure you take it to reception or they charge you for a new one. The food was ok but nothing special as were the drinks although a very small selection is included. On the whole was a little disappointed and the hotel is in nedd of a refurb, bits fell of balconies from 3rd floor onto terrace while we were there. All shops just selling cheap fake goods, nothing authentic in local area.

Advice: Simple tourist resort, nothing terrible but nothing sparkling either.

Activities: Everest Restaurant great food. Water park not worth the trouble, boat trips great value.

" sam and danni in altinkum "

Stayed at GARDEN OF SUN hotel recently....totally fab, would recommend it! The staff were friendly, helpful and eaasy on the eye.
When we arrived ALI on reception told us everything we needed to know to make our stay enjoyable and easy. He was a cheery and friendly face throughout our stay.
The meals suited us down to the ground, great variety, well presented thanks to the scintillating JJ (commis chef) and the rest of the dining room staff.
We have to say, though, the best bit about the dining experience was the chance to drool over the restaurant manager who was a DANIEL Craig/Leonardo lookalike.....but much, much sexier! mmm mmm! Oh and he was also very efficient and good at his job.
The outdoor area is fabulous....great pool and as many drinks as you require. If you want a lovely souvenir of your time here we'd recommend you seek out ABIDIN, top photographer who will snap you and make you look fantastic.
The hotel has a spa, gym, turkish nightetc all of which we loved. There are also a couple of shops on site. Check out the jeweller's rocks.......
We often visited Santa Clara bar at back of hotel for karaoke, dancing. Try it and look out for top dancers Romeo and Ian as well as Jo and the lovely Mathematicianxxxxxx.
Fun Fun Fun holiday at Garden of Sun......get yourself out there....would go back again. Top holiday.Top marks.

Advice: get yourself out there

Activities: santa clara and the boat trip and the view in the dining room

we have just returned from a holiday in the garden of sun a family group of 9 adults and 2 children. This was the best holiday we had been on bering in mind it was my inlaws second time to the garden of sun in 2 years. food amazing rooms amazing staff amazing everything about this hotel was out of this world.before |I went on this holiday I was one of them who beleived every review and was worried about it but what we got from the moment we arrived till the time we left was extremly good. we stayed in the hotel every night thu turkish night had itailian night on a tuesday and they really go all out on special nights and on normakl nights food was always good and plently of it.I would go back and would really recomend it to any one. I have never written a review about a holiday but this is my reason because i believed all those people who just try find fault with someting so good and people like that should just stay at home. hope you enjoy your holiday in the garden of sun well if you go I know you will....

" Great Holiday! "

Well, i should have wrote this review about a year ago when myself and my partner got back from Garden Of Sun, This was our 1st holiday together and we enjoyed every minute, to be honest when was on the coach on the way at about 11pm after a very long day the road didnt look very promising, althought we kept clear heads and gave it a chance!!!, very glad we didnt judge straight away because it turned out to be BRILLIANT, the room was HUUUUGE!!!!, we had a double bed which was nice bot having to push 2small ones together and then a ind bed to put our suite cases on, the bathroom was clean with a HOT power shower always clean and fresh towels and loo roll everyday!
I really get annoyed when i read some reviews were people complaint about every small detail just for the sake of it!, the food was very good i am a picky eater when it comes to been abroad and i had no problems, and althought my partner can eat anything he agreed it was to a very good standard we both agreed that about 3days before we was due to leave the food was gettin abit repetative!, but what do you exspect?
i dont know what some people exspect? If you was at home you wouldnt eat Steak everynite would u???????????
Breakfast was fresh the usual, fruit, cerials, cooked breakfast, hot and cold drinks all to a high standard, Dinner consisted of, Pasta's, Rice's, Meats, Chips, Soups, Breads ALL SORTS!
And if you was still abit peckish the pool side bar open at 2pm, that was our favourite good old British food hehe, burger, chips, n home made Pizza, ice cream, variety of drinks.
And all thru the day DRINKS, DRINKS, and more DRINKS!!!!!!!!!
The pool was a touch cold but for me thats what i want if ive been in the scorching sun all day i was cool down n trust me it did!, my partner is abit of a fish n spent the genaration of the 2weeks in the pool!
We did various trips to name a few, 4x4, Old Town, Boat Trips, well we did 3 boat trips they were fantastic, in english was about £8 for all day 9-5 with AI food and Drink ! BARGIN !
The only downfall was Thomas Cook let us down becuase we booked the water park straight away and the nite before we was due to go they posted a letter threw our door saying "Sorry not enough people booked so you cant go", Rubbish i no but thats Thomas Cockup no Garden Of Sun's Fault.
To wrap it up, myself and my partner are looking to return in a few years when the area is compleatly finished, but even now an up and coming area i would still advise people to go, Old, Yound, Couples, Families, This is any1's piece of cake.
We paid £620.00 All in for 2weeks AI im not sure what more we could have asked for.
Also a big thanks to all the entertainment staff !!
We originally booked Olu Dinez but Thomas cook cocked that up to and overbooked the room so we was sent here would have changed that even if we could had a brilliant time!

Advice: We are going to return to this hotel in a few years we loved it!!

The room was nothing speical verry basic and small our balcony had a rubish view looking over a buliding site accros the road
the food was okai the usal chips salads pasta ect. there was a pool bar that opend from 2:00 - 4:00 and you could get pizza burgers chips and more wich i would say was better than the evening meal! kids could get ice-cream around 2:00 and wasnt opend for very long as all the kids were quing up and they ran out very quickly
Allinclusive drinks stoped around 11 witch the not so very good entertainment had just finished and was about 5 lira for a beer

" terrible....got poisoned!! "

do not listen to the good reviews this place was awful, the hotel was very nice and clean i couldnt fault that but the food was outrageous! after being there for 3 days i was struck by the worst stomach cramps i had ever experienced! i thought i may be an exemption until i spoke to about thirty other guests suffering the same cramps and sickness, i had to be taken to the doctors and put on a drip for two hours!! when i arrived the nurses asked where i was staying and when i replied they looked completely shocked and said "not another one" they had around 75 people just that week from our hotel with food poisoning. you will no what i mean when u see the chef with his rotting teeth and roaving eye. the drinks were all watered down and after 11 my friend paid £13 quid for a black russian!! i got locked out of my room and went for a key but a porter said he had one and would let me in, he then proceeded to tell me that he was not going to help me unless i kissed him first!
outside is lovely and the people are really friendly and not pushy at all, the galaxy bar is particulary good and there is one waiter at the penguin bar who is unbelievably gorgeous but i declined his offer for dinner ha ha!!

Advice: great place awful hotel

Activities: penguin bar

" Hotel review "

The hotel its self is very nice and clean, the staff were not that friendly, we stayed for a week the weather was georgous. The food was o.k. The pool is deep all the way round, there is a kids pool and some slides which are great fun, there is also a childerns park which is very good, because the kids club was shut. There is water polo is the aftenoon but no more activities in the day. So its preety much make your own entertainment. There was one night of entertainment which was a Turkish night, with belly dancing. The beach is very near where you can go on a speed boat, banana boat and pedelo's. It was the first time I went to Turkey and would go back, but a different area.

" mike westbury "

we stayed in this hotel for one week and after reading some of the other comments i was not looking forward to staying there.
we arrived at 7am in the morning after a night flight very tired and went straight to bed. the room was clean bright and modern with all expected facilites, my only gripe with the room it was on the 5th floor and i dont like heights.
the food was good and a more than expected array of different of choices , the food dishes where different everyday . the drinks where fine and the only thing i noticed which was watered down was the brandy, so we stuck with the wines and vodka and during the day the lager which was fine. the entertainment is what you would expect from a family hotel and the kids are not let down in the activites .
the staff where all friendly and couldnt do enough for you and the first choice rep Judith was more than helpful spending over three hours a day in the hotel making sure everyone was fine.
my only whinge would be the few holiday makers who whinged all the time about the food etc , there is no sausage and chips was the usual moan ,you go to visit turkey
so enjoy the place its not England

" i am back from turkey about 7 weeks... "

i am back from turkey about 7 weeks now and loved it !!!!!!!!!!!

before we went we read the reviews and people were saying they hated in but actually there was nothing wrong with it thats just people being so fussy! .

the hotel was clean, the bedrooms were cleaned every day beds were changed and towels were changed, air conditioning worked which was a bonus as the heat was unbearable. at the end of every landing though there is a big window which is always left open so dont let little kids run around the landings as the window is really dangerous. theyre could have been alot more for younger kids ages 2 & up but other than that it was great. and on turkish nights which are thursdays they had a little market around the pool inside the hotel.

Food:
the food was fine theyre was stuff for everyone to eat theyre was chips rice and turkish kebabs which were beautiful, but the kebabs are only served on turkish nights which were every thursday night.

Drink:
the drinks were watered down but they didnt have get the party steaming. they done coke, sprite, fanta and orange juice and stuff like diluting juice.

Facilities:
the facilities were excellent the pool was great it was cleaned every night and every morning before it was opened at 10. the pool closed at 7 every night. the turkish baths were great aswell. but watch because when you go to use the internet and the pool tables they charge you but we never knew that before we went.

The resort itself was great you could just hop on the dolmus bus and you only paid like 1 lira 50 each to get into the the main beach and the town were the biggest majority of the shops and nightclubs there.

Bars & Nightclubs in the town are amazing but some of them can rip u off with there prices. the staff in there are amazing they are always up dancing and doing little performances for you and encouraging people to get up and join in.

Shops in the town they are well resonably priced we got 5 lacoste t-shirts each for £5 which was a bargain :), the locals that own the shops are really nice but you get the odd cheeky one. they will do you any kind of deal just to get you to buy what theyre trying to sell you or youll get the odd ones who wont do you a good deal.

Market is good you can get the dolmus bus theyre aswell every saturday its on until 8pm, its about 20 minutes from the hotel. and the locals on the stalls try and have great laughs with you and watch out because as soon as you get off the bus youve got a wee guy that wonders around tryen to get you to buy cigarettes and if you do he will still follow you around all day, trying to get you to buy more.

Overall there was 11 of us that went and we all had a great time and would go back there and we would go back to turkey again its great and really cheap, so some of the things people put on are way over the top but yet again TURKEY is what you make it yourself.
