the garden of sun is a really nice friendly clean hotel with a good choise of food.. all the staff were wonderful...this was my 5th stay in turkey and i would just like to say we were a party of 8 women out on holiday for a very special birthday. and i dont think there could have been a better place to spend it other than the garden of sun we were made to feel very welcome.... ps for all them that complain about the food they should stay at home if they want fish and chips..... a few of the ladys in our party were fussy eaters but never went hungry there was always something to there likeing........ pps to all the staff keep up the good work

My husband and myself were very worried after reading some of the previous reviews however just back on 3oth May after a weeks holiday there and would say that this hotel is wonderful and although it states 5 star you must remember this is Turkey standards however it was still very good. Lovely big rooms, fit 3/4 people comfortablely. Food was good however again you must remember this is Turkey you are going to and you won't get your normal British food as I think some seem to be looking for in previous reviews! On arrival to this hotel, the reception is lovely and modern, it has a big pool outside, a kids pool with water slide and lovely gardens etc. Outside the front of hotel is still being developed however this is normal for Turkey. It's a 10-15 min walk to town however once there, lovely restuarants bars are located along the front, also this is a nice walk in the evening. Restuarant to try is the Paradise Restuarant where you will be greeted by Tom ( nice laddie!), had a drink there every evening and then had a lovely meal there on our last night. The only downside for us at the hotel was on check out they checked our room mini bar and said we had used the orange juice (which we hadn't) and tried to charge us for this. My husband and I insisted that we hadn't touched the mini bar however I was made to write this down on a piece of paper and sign, which was very humilating however the only thing that put a slight damper on the holiday. All in all had a fantastic holiday. For anyone who is worried about going to this hotel, please don't worry and go with an open mind and you'll have a fab time! Trust me I have seen a lot worse hotels in Turkey and we go to Turkey twice a year! Hoping to book again for September this year!

PLEASE IGNORE ANY BAD REVIEWS YOU HAVE READ ABOUT THIS HOTEL!!!!!!!!!
My boyfriend and i were a bit concerned after reading some negative reviews about this hotel, but upon arrival those reviews were blown out of the water-honestly, either British people aren't happy unless they are complaining about something or they were staying in a different hotel.
Quite simply the hotel was fabulous. Spacious in lush surroundings, glorious pool and poolside area, gorgeous and modern interior all wonderfully clean.
The double room had a double bed and single bed and was of a really luxurious standard- very much like a high standard British hotel room- and the linen and towels were changed very regularly. we had a wonderul view of the pool and beaches(definitely worth requesting) and quite honestly we couldn't fault it.
The staff were amoung the friendliest i have ever encountered, which goes for all the Turkish people, they are so accomodating and will go to the ends of the earth for you. The hotel staff were very hard working but always happy and friendly.
The restaurant is immaculate and the food was sublime, always fresh and plentiful.Soups, salads, breads, pasta, chicken meat and vegetable dishes and deserts to die for! For those who complain about the food, remember YOU ARE GOING TO TURKEY! if you are expecting burgers and chips and fried rubbish then go to Blackpool on your holidays. The food is fresh, tasty and gives a real local flavour- which in my opinion is one of the reasons for going abroad in the first place.
Overall we couldn't fault the hotel or the area of Al Tinkum and have already booked to return in September. Defintely 10 out of 10 and really sorry to be home.

We booked a family room (2 rooms with connecting door) for 4, and we paid for it, when we arrived, the little woman in receiption gave us a standard room instead, when we complained, manager didn't work at night, she said. Next day a little young man who called himself a general manager, came to called my husband a lier and cheater, tryed to get something we hadn't paid. I worked in internationl 5 star hotel since 1988, I had never seen any hotel staff like him---UNEDUCATED and ABUSED guest! Nobody cleaned swimming pool, no safety guard, bath full of dirty water, 4 people gave you 2 towels and shampoo sets! £400 sleep in 3 cushions bed a week. If you want to get abuse, stay there! Good luck!

It was sooooo nice.It was all inclusive so we didnt have to pay for the food or drink inside the resort. You could see the beach and sea, infact you were only 500m away from it.The staff were really freindly and at lunchtime you could get a snack from the snack shack.Everything was brill, apart from the arobics lady just turned ip when she liked so you missed it nearly every time. The shows at night-time were alright but they kept repeating it over and over again so it got boring. And of course they had a mini disco for the kids.
Every day at lunch-time they played a game with some of the geusts.one you had to skip as many times as you could on a surf-board and then surf it to the other side of the pool!

was a little nervous as to how the holiday would pan out. decided to go 4 something different and spend a month in turkey as appose to usually going to magaluf or tenerife 4 a week. we were worried as to how lively or not the place would be but it was very good.
The hotel jus lack on a night between 8 and 11, but the town after that is as good as you want it to be. plenty of girls in their 20s karoke and couple of half decent clubs. wasnt bored in 28 days so cant have been bad

My husband and I together with sister and brother-in-law were all quite worried after reading some of the reviews concerning the hotel etc.
However, on arrival we were really impressed with the hotel and the staff; everyone was so friendly. The rooms we had were situated at the front of the hotel; which did not have a great view compared to the back, but the rooms were very spacious and clean and were cleaned every day and fresh towels were provided.
As for the food, what can I say, there was so much to choose from, and everywhere was spotless. Definitely no complaints.
Yes, the free bar closed at 11.00pm but then every night we walked into Dolphin Square and socialised with the very friendly locals. Couldn't have wished for a better holiday and will definitely be going again.
The entertainment at the hotel was average but we made an effort and joined in and had a great laugh.
All in all we couldn't fault anything and for anyone who is worried about the reviews doesn’t be, you'll have a great time!

Friendly staff, very clean hotel. All the staff work very hard and long hours but are always smiling and cheerful. the hotel also has a spa and well being beauty salon were you can also have a Turkish bath and oil massage, which I would say you must have, i have never felt to clean or relaxed in my life.
I cant say enough how this is such a great hotel, and I was so sad to leave, if only England was as good and the people. I was so worried when I read before we went on this holiday how other people found the Garden of Sun Hotel. All I can say is the plane they were on must have taken them to the wrong location. Staff more than happy to help, clean hotel, everything was seen to for us. Give it a try you'll be glad you did.
Hope to be back next year Garden of Sun for our Honeymoon. x

Although listed as a 5* hotel I wouldn't mix this with a UK 5*. Its a very nice holiday hotel. Our rooms overlooked the front of the hotel. The view was nothing to write home about (a very run down shop and bar and a few building sites). The view from the back of the hotel over the pool area and gardens was much better.
The hotel staff work very hard and very long hours. Our rooms were cleaned every day. Clean towels and sheets. The restaurant and bar staff didn't seem to have much time off at all. This might explain why some of them didn't smile very often.
The food in the hotel was OK but I found it to be very repetitive. We didn't have any young children with us but I did notice that the food was extremely limited for little ones. The pizza's, burgers and chips at the bar by the pool during the afternoon are very nice.
During our week at this hotel we saw no evening entertainment. After the 2nd night of just sitting by the pool bar we chose to go into Altinkum. You can pick up a minibus outside the hotel gates which takes you into the centre of Altinkum. It only costs 1 TYL per person, each way and they run every few minutes.
one suggestion... don't buy any drinks from any of the bars within the hotel after 11pm. The prices are unbelievable. We only made that mistake once and the guy behind the bar was extremely rude when we queried the price.
On the whole we enjoyed our holiday. The weather was fabulous. Not sure whether I would go back again but who knows.

This hotel was amazing. I don’t really need to go into any detail because all you guys really need to know is that it’s amazing.
I was greeted at the hotel with a smile, the people showed me to my room and offered me a hand with my luggage. Once in the room I found everything satisfactory.
The shower was brilliant and big enough. The balcony was great for an amazing view of the pool and the sea.
The swimming pool was massive and not cold at all. Me and my mates were in it the entire holiday.
You’re going to love this place and that is no lie.

We have just returned from a one week holiday at the Garden of Sun - overall the holiday was great, but there were a few things which I feel that I should point out.
Health and safety was not a priority and although people should take responsibility for their own safety, there were some areas which could be improved. At both ends of the hotel there is a stairwell, and on every landing there are full length windows which open fully - outside is a sheer drop!
Around the pool are tiles which are fine, but between those tiles and the hotel reception are marble tiles, which of course get wet - we must have spotted a new limb in plaster every day we were there.
The splash pool at the bottom of the slides was quite shallow - our kids didn't have any problems, but when teenagers went on the slides, many came out of the pool with feet which has been cut by scrapping the bottom of the splash pool.
These were just points that we noticed, but we didn't have any problems.
The food was good, plenty of choice to suit everyone, salad, rice, chips, soup, meat and fish dishes - if your kids don't want to try something different then they can live on bits and pieces for a week - I would have thought that you might get fed up with food if you were there for two weeks.
Not much entertainment for the kids in the daytime, but good in the evening, daytime pool games for the adults were very entertaining though!
On the second day we were there, my brother-in-laws toilet seat broke (he is only average size, so it was due to pool quality), the hotel tried to charge him for it - but after standing his ground they let the charge drop.
The staff are pleasant and all worked very hard, the room was cleaned every day, and the pool area was cleaned every night.
We booked the holiday via the net, but I believe that First Choice rate this hotel 5* - I wouldn't say it was 5*, but there again, we didn't pay a 5* price so that was fine for us!
On the whole we had a very enjoyable holiday and didn't even leave the hotel for the whole week, so if you have booked to go there and then read this, please don't let it put you off, but just be aware of the safety issues.
Should we return to Turkey, I would be quite happy to go back to The Garden of Sun.

Have just returned after 2 wonderful weeks at this hotel... No complaints whatsoever... do not believe everything you read in these reviews.
The hotel istelf is beautiful, and the pool area outstanding. Staff are brilliant, animation staff were the nicest people you could ever meet and our whole family joined in the fun whenever we could, always something going on. The food is also good, lots to choose from , and as one of the other reviews stated , you are in Turkey !! we cant expect 5* like we have it in UK ... and you definately didnt pay 5* cash for this hotel. !!!!so i would highly recommend this hotel, its was fantastic value for money and we had a ball every single day... didnt want to come home..
