Stayed for one week early August with two children, aged 2 and 1. On two occasions asked specific questions to receptionists. Did not know the answer to my question and made no attempt to look for an answer or help further. On our day of departure we were advised that a... more

The flight was good and the taxi ride from the plane was very smooth and the room was a quite good size and the view from the blacony was actually quite beautiful. The pool looks nice from far but at times it was a little bit dirty and the poolside was never cleaned so it... more

This hotel was definitely not 4* either in the rooms or in the restaurant. The food was very limited choice and not of good quality. The rooms were clean but also very basic and I would say that if, as someone has said, it has already had some recent refurbishment then it... more

hated it
spent one week in this hotel, and did not enjoy it at all no one welcomes us and the rooms are small beds are hard to sleep on and the food was cold. the pool where unheated and the steps to the pool where loose and needed fixing. The hotel seem to cater for the spainish who were oap,s and they thought they owned the place giving us dirty looks all the time . Entertainment was rubbish always gear towards the spainish and was spoken in spainish the staff did not go out of the way to help you at all. We will never be going back to this hotel.
We Enjoyed!
My partner and I booked a late deal at the Hotel Torreblanca over the internet. Before we left I read some reviews and to be honest I was dreading the holiday. When we arrived I was pleasently surprised. The reception area was of a high standard and the staff greeted us in a friendly manner. The room was a little outdated but clean and had everything we needed, the air conditioning was fantastic and the rooms were cleaned with the towels changed every day. The pool area was lovely with a lifeguard on duty at all times. We stayed half board and there was a good choice of food, even for the fussy eaters. The beach was a 5 minute walk away with many bars and restaurants. I would definately stay at this hotel again!
Don't go to this hotel!!
I visited this hotel for a week in September 2005. The position is quite good, literally 5 mins walk to a nice beach. Like the reviews say, a bit steep with steps, so no good for little ones. Room was basic but at least the air conditioning worked and there was a good shower. The hotel itself is in desperate need of redecoration and was very dirty. There was litter and cigarette ends all around the hotel and the pool area. I bought cleaning products to clean the bathroom myself before I felt happy using it! The tiles around the swimming pool were filthy dirty and the sunbeds are uncomfortable. The staff are completely indifferent, ignorant and unhelpful. We were never spoken to by a member of staff, or welcomed in any way, if you could actually find a member of staff. You are very much left to fend for yourself. The ancient lifts broke down at least three times during our visit. First Choice should really make it clear that at this time of the year(not sure what it is like at other times of the year?) the hotel is 95% spanish and I felt that the hotel definately prefers them!! I would never ever ever return to this hotel and I would strongly urge others not to go either!
I enjoyed it
4 of us went. Always read the brochure, the small print. Hotel on slight incline. remember to take your ropes and climbing gear!!!!!!! We had to get a cab from the beach because Mum could not make the Climb. Apart from that a lovely hotel Dad put on weight from the excellent food offered. Spanish, yes we are in Spain and it is a very Spainsh Hotel. Lots of Spanish Pensioners all 4' 0" high. Lots of Ballroom Dancing in the evening bar closes early. Used the Hotel to sleep and eat found our own entertainment outside. Must do! cable car, Jump on the train outside hotel go to next stop. There is a funfair for the kids, cable car takes you up into the mountains, with unbelievable views. Watch out for time share operative the reps seem to be in on the scheme and pushing them. Overall, not a hotel for young families or singles. Very quite during the day and seemed even more quite at night, apart from englebert humperdinck's last waltz. Returning May 2005 will let you know how it goes when i get back.
Golf Holiday based in Fuengirola
Good value, well positioned. Rooms comfortable if lacking in pillows. Breakfast average, stick to coffeee and fruit juice. Overall done the job as a base for a golf holiday.
area lovely but avoid this hotel
We booked half board and never had a meal, food was a disgrace, staff uninterested we have booked another trip but not to this hotel. first choice rep never appeared.
Don't go
I was there with my 3 sons from 14th Feb 04 ton 21st. The Hotel Receptionist was rude and in considerate. The food was terrible and in most cases made with pork or fish. I knew that drinks are not included in the package but I did not know that even water is to be purchased, and the price was equal to top restaurants. Few people had to service a great many of guests. I was waiting to receive a phone call from a friend for three hours. My friend called and was told that I am not in the room. This happened at least three times. Room allocation was discriminatory and Spanish people had priority. It was mentioned by Cosmos in the website that the hotel is 2 minutes walk from the beach, if that is the case the measurement is probably done by a jetliner. This Hotel could be good with a good management and a better menue.
A Good Spanish Hotel
Before I left I read the reviews on this website and thought I was going to a horrible hotel, I was surprise when I got there. This is a beautiful "spanish" hotel, not your typical brits abroad type of establishment. It was clean, the staff were very helpful, pool area was excellent, they had two pools one for the kids and one further into the grounds which was quieter and there was a playground, the food was typically spanish and not very good if you are a fussy eater but it was hot, nicely presented and some of the spanish dishes were excellent (esp. grilled sardines and fresh king prawns). If you want to travel around the area the hotel is ideally situated near the train station (the train service is excellent and runs from marbella to torremonlinos, all clean and air conditioned and always on time and very cheap). It is also well placed for the bus service. The only disadvantage was that the hill upto the hotel from the beach is steep and unsuitable for older people or people who have trouble walking and you are a good way from the centre of fuengirola about 40 mins stroll or 30 min walk. On the whole this hotel is value for money and I had a lovely holiday and would recommend this hotel.
Ignorant staff terrible Food
Dismisive arrogant staff.Foul smelling food.JMC staff try but are completely out of step as to how to entertain holidaymakers.Just a bad Hotel. My wife and i ate out every nite and sourced other entertainment venues.Complete waste of money.Unclean foyer dirty unpholstery every where.Too many instances to record. One particular nite music playing in the basement disco 4.45am by hotel staff asked them to turn it down threatened myself .Room never cleaned regular. My complaint to JMC they never even bothered to reply. My advice Avoid go and stay Hotel Yaramar fantastic.
Three star and no more!
The hotel is fairly reasonable having been for a few days in May 2004. Beware there is building work going on behind the hotel though this is not over noisy at present. The nearby train did not present any noise problem at all. The rooms back door did not close properly and one floor tile, that was already broken, fell four floors to the ground. The verandas are receiving attention at present as the cracks are clear to see. Our room had no advice of telephone numbers nor were we told the leaving time and they were not flexible over a few minutes more. If you dont take a shower you may well receive a clean up from the cleaners who wet the varandas above and send the water with disinfectant over the side making sure you have that 'shower'. The food and cleaning are good and we did not find fault. Infact the food was alot better than the normal restaurant food.
