Good, but not that good Hotel.
from Cereal_K
For the reviews i've read of this hotel, i thought i've made a good choise. Can't say it was that bad, but they still have a lot to learn until they diserve a 5 rate. The good things are: -Hotel Beauty -Clean -Sympathy -Rooms -Swimming pool -The 'all included' is 'all included' -Animation (day and night) -Overall organization Not so good: -Food variaty: the food was almost the same for an entiry week but the quality is good -Beach: First of all there were lots of jellyfishes in the sea; the camels used the beach as bathrooms and nobody cleans; guests leaves plates with food near the water in the morning and at the end of the day are still there; there are so many motor boats in the sea that the smell of petrol is intense. -Be very carefull if you need a 'Cortesy Room' in the check out day. Although i've been assured that a room would be available for me to use before i leave (normal in 4 star hotels all over the world) in the day it wasn't. Only after a 5 minute discution they gave me a room, but i saw people taking a bath in the swimming pool facilities and getting dressed in the luggage room. The final idea is that they still have a lot to learn until they can offer a quality service. If you are looking for a fun hotel and the details are not that important then i believe it is a good choise. I won't be back there, and probably not even to Tunisia.
Great vacations
from Znakomity
We spent 2 lovely weeks in this hotel. Except some ants problem in bathroom we didn't find any more bad things. Very good and varying food, service and cleanliness on high level. Animation perfect. Beautiful sand beach for hotel guests with water sports. Hotel is perfect for families with children. High quality standard will satisfy everybody.
It ain't 'alf hot mum
from kelvin.boyce
I have read the various reviews of this hotel with great interest over the last few months. I give great respect to the views of the people that have actually stayed at the resorts and hotels. The reports have been getting better and better as time has gone on. I would say that of the many hotels I have stayed in during the last 25 years that this is one of my favourites. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the hotel communial areas were well presented and again very clean especially the pool and reception. The best bits were the attentive staff, very very good standard of food and the excellent value for money. The worst point were 'kind of expected' but none the less annoying. These are in no paticular order: Rubbish animation team, best described as being roughly on par with the "It ain't 'alf hot mum" TV program The management of the restaurant during the second evening sitting felt more like my works canteen during the half hour rush, than the quality venue that it really is (maybe a more flexible dining arrangement would improve this?) The lack of sunbeds after 8.30am around the pool And I'm not sure how Thomson can advertise Satellite TV in the rooms when all but 2 (news cahannels) are non english? Don't be put off though because the good points far out weight the bad ones, they could do with being managed better. You really must visit the American theme bar at least once or twice during your stay to meet one of the nicest bamen I have ever met (I have been in the industry for 15 years). Please book today and you will enjoy yourself - I promise

Wow, what a hotel. this was our first trip to Tunisia and and having heard a few horror stories we were a bit weary. No need with this hotel from the moment you arrive. The staff are the best i have ever come across, nothing is too much trouble and they always happy to see you and soo polite. The food ia amazing with breakfast starting at 7.30am and food then all the way to 9.45pm. everthing and anything is available and with three themed nights, we never got bored. we took or 1year old son and to be fair the outside kiddies pool is to exposed with little shade, but with 2 indoor pools, one for children it was no problem. The evenings are a lttle quiet, but for a relaxing holiday in a top hotel you wont be disappointed.
Probably best Hotel in Kantaoui
from Mike78Paris
We spent 2 weeks in the Riu Bellevue park. As we have been spending our last 5 summer holidays in Tunesia we can compare the hotel with 5 other 4 star hotels. The service is really extraordinarily good. The Hotel management seems to focus on service quality as a main differentiator and they are pretty successful. All inclusive is generous and food quality is very good as well. Be careful with the 2 room suite (Type A) as they have all view on a very noisy generator from the neighbour hotel. As a lot of the guests use to complain about these rooms, the reception staff will most often give another room after 2 days. The 2 tennis courts are poorly maintained and are useless for advanced players. So not perfect, but very very good Hotel for Tunesian standards. I would without hesitation return again to the Riu Bellevue Park. Congratulation to the management and the staff!
Very friendly, clean hotel
from tattersp
The staff are the most friendly we have come across, from manager to cleaner they always had a friendly smile and welcome. Rooms were clean and tidy but sea view over local unfinished buildings. All rooms have sea views but half overlook the pool and the other half face outwards. No real problem with this as we did not spend much time on the balcony anyway. Beach was good but there is very limited swiming in marked zones to keep you away from the power boats. These are every few hundred yards up the beach providing para gliding and banana boat rides. All negotiable. Hotel pool is great. Animation team good if you enjoy that sort of thing and the kids ( 5 teenagers) had plenty to do if they wanted to join in. Food was good and varied. Poolside bar with snacks from 10:00 to 17:00 which everyone enjoyed. No queues for anything and we were there at busy time.
Would Recommend this hotel

Excellent hotel, staff very friendly, cant do enough for you. Rooms very clean. Stayed Jul 2007 with our 2 teenagers, 19 years & 17 years. Loads for them to do. Food very good. Make sure you request a room with a pool & sea view as the view from the wrong side of the hotel is pretty bad! We moved rooms the 2nd night because of this. Went on 3 cities tour, was very good. Also did Thomson Friday night show, havent laughed so much for ages! Would recommend this hotel.
Excellent Value For Money
from Tiger8MiddleEngland
Stayed here for 2 weeks in July. Initially had mixed reservations about Tunisia & didn't build my hopes up too much. But what a surprise I had. The Hotel was what I had expected from Riu, having stayed in them before. Emailed the hotel prior to departure & asked for a larger room if possible as there would be 3 of us sharing. Hotel came back & couldn't promise anything, however on arrival we had been alllocated a beautiful large room for the 3 of us. Everything spotlessly clean, & ample storage space. Only thing couldn't understand, no drinks in the fridge. Expected to see water & soft drinks as it was all inclusive. You have to buy bottle water & then fill up. Staff all around the hotel absolutely brilliant. Food good. Only found the Tunisian evening disappointing. Hence didn't try the Tunisian restaurant which you have to make reservations for. Plenty of sunbeds, although if you want to be around the pool had to be up by 6.30 to secure your spot! Only real draw back to this hotel was the lack of decent evening entertainment. This was provided by the hotel entertainment crew, who I hasten to add work very hard & are not entirely to blaim for the poor shows. Surely a chain like Riu could at least put on once a week a professional show! Although we attended 2 shows, these where rather disappointing & we didn't bother after that. Ok for kids. Enjoyed the walk on the beach into the resort, about 40 minutes. No hassle from the beach sellers, just say no & they stay away. Went to the Medina in Sousse for the day & absolutley loved it. Very cheap leather goods i.e. bags, shoes. Bought loads. No real hassle in the shops but be prepared to barter, all part of the fun! Only pick something up if you are really interested. A polite No, & a "thankyou for letting you look around their shop" seemed to suffice. Every Saturday, stall holders set up in the hotel grounds, I found these to be more hassle than in the Medina! Went paragliding on the beach - great value. After going to Turkey last year & being dissapointed with the locals & hotel staff I found this to be very refreshing. Locals a lot friendlier than I anticipated. Try & talk to them & they will talk back. Taxis very cheap. Didn't eat out as the food in the hotel was very good & no-one had any upset tummies. All in all a very pleasant & surprising holiday destination which I will one day return.
"I want to go to RIU!!!!"
from pink_fluffy_mushroom
We had a great time! After the initial drama about our "sea view room" that wasn't very sea view (we were able to change rooms...as did a few other people we met) we were very happy. The staff at this hotel were the friendliest and most attentive I have ever experienced in any hotel i've stayed at. The restaurant and bar staff in particular were awesome and genuinely wanted to make your stay enjoyable...I loved them so much I cried when we had to leave! The hotel is really clean, lots of marble and lovely decor, i would say the lobby area was of a 5* standard, the rooms were very clean and everything you needed really without being negative I thought they would be more 'wow' from my initial impression of the hotel. If the "I want to go to RIU" and the fun and games throughout the day doesn't put a smaile on your face then I don't know what will...this place can be as relaxing or on the go as you want. The animation team worked hard and the kids there seemed to be having a great time. Food wise there is plenty of choice, the bread and salad was my favourite....there is something for everyone. You can have lunch inside or at the pool bar. They have a themed night 3 times a week (Italian, tunisian and fish whilst we were there) with petals on the tables flowers and they make the dining room really romantic. We tried to have propper meals there rather than putting a mish mash on your plate...would recommend that at an all inclusive otherwise your meal will be a bit messed up! We met a couple who have been to Tunisia 27 times and they said it's the best food they've had there! There is a tunisian restaurant there were you can try traditional tunisian cusuine and we spent a nice eveing in there too. Pool area is nice and good sized pool, although we found the talk of the holiday seemed to be the issue of getting a sunbed!! Some people were up every morning really early putting towels down! (I mean early as in 5.30am!!!) We had a lovely time at the Bellevue and after our first experience of a RIU hotel we would certainly go to one again.
