Phivos Studios

I arrived in Paleo very sceptical of what I would find as I had never been to Corfu before, my partner and her family had been coming here for a number of years and had heard nothing but good things about Paleo and indeed Phivos.
On arrival we were met by friendly faces and stunning views, immediately you felt comfortable and relaxed.
The rooms are basic but everything you need is there and amenities are very close - by, Maria cleans the rooms to better than hotel standards and Nia is always there to help you with any requests you have.
The apartments signify relaxation and chilled out days and nights which is then confirmed by George when he takes over for the evening session with one of his special cocktails.
All I can say is that Paleo and Phivos draws you back and I am devastated that I will not be returning there this year but hopefully back in 2009.

Well here we are again 9 years later!!!! and still visiting Phivos in the beautiful area of Paleokastritsa. This says a lot about the apartments and the area. We were fortunate enough to have discovered this small block of apartments which consists of 14 rooms 9 years ago and have visited them twice a year since. Maria keeps the rooms absolutely spotless and we have the maid service every other day and a change of linen,towels etc. regularly.
The view from the rooms are great, looking straight up the mountain towards the village of lacones. This is a place of complete relaxation and to unwind. The apartments are family run and you can always rely on a warm friendly welcome - nothing is too much trouble. A few minutes from the apartments the views start to unfold and it gets better every step you make. We feel we have found a little piece of Greece that to-date has not changed in all the years we have been coming AND LONG MAY IT REMAIN THIS WAY !!!!!!!
We have enjoyed many hours!!!!!!!! ralaxing by the Pool and having the facility of the bar for snacks and drinks during the day and a cool aperitif before going to dinner in the Oasis Taverna a few minutes away. The Supermarket is also close at hand which makes the apartments very close to all local amenities. You can enjoy the walks to all the local villages from here as well. The villages are all worth a visit whether you walk or go by car.
Looking forward to the next trip hopefully sooner rather thena later.

My wife and i have been going to Paleo for 8 years now,as we are drawn by the beauty of the scenery amongst other things.We have been resident at Phivos studio apartments for the majority of our stays and have nothing but praise for them.Overlooked by the mountains,the location is unique and provides a marvelous backdrop when one finds the time to look up from a sunny slumber.The apartments are basic but cleaned meticulously by the hard working Maria.The snacks provided by Nia are out of this world,I can reccomened the Greek Salad sandwich in particular-fresh and a true taste of the local environ.Located close to local shops and restuarants,Phivos is ideal for those who don't want to walk far,but equally is a good start point for a walk to the harbour or the stunning views from the village of lakones.Phivos to us is like putting on a comfortable pair of slippers,as within minutes of being there we feel at ease.The evening should begin with a cocktail from George,before the short walk to the restuarant of your choice-ideal.Although we have been unable to return this year due to our impending new addition to the family,we fully intend to be In Paleo,and hopefully Phivos,next year with our baby.

I am totally shocked by some of the reviews i have read on this forum about Phivos Apartments, absolute nonsense.
I was never a person to re-visit a holiday destination but 6 years ago i came to corfu and stayed at Phivos Apartments on a recommendation and have never looked back. I have been coming to Phivos Apartments for the past 6 years (twice a year) and have never left dissapointed. The apartments are basic but your not booking a luxury hotel......all you need is a bed, what can i say the pool, food and the people are great. The rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and you are given new towels and linen every other day. Would definately recommend Phivos Apartments :o)
I cant wait to return back to Corfu and Phivos Apartments again soon.........

I don't know about in previous years but they only seemed interested in making money when we were there. They kept the bar open well over the advertised time. This would have been great if they had kept the noise down as the bar is only 5 metres away from the apartments. Trying getting to sleep with the cackling of a drunken sot permeating the whole neighbourhood.
They raised all the prices on our second day, for example, adding 1 Euro to the daily cost of hiring a fan and 1 Euro onto the cost of ice cream etc.
There is no one available from the time the bar closes until someone decides to pay a visit to open the bar again.
I hired the use of the safe only to find that I couldn't access this until they decided to come in at 0945. My cards, driving licence and cash were there and I was trying to hire a car. When I brought this up with the manager he pointed to a sign saying that the bar opened from 0930 until 0130. That's the bar not the whole building!
If they want you to use the bins for toilet waste they'll need to empty the bins more frequently. Even once a day would be enough
I'd gladly visit Paleokastritsa again but certainly not Phivos.

Well, arrival went fine, but no rep on the bus just a cd to listen to - very strange. Phivos had just left a key in the door; we had to find it in the dark. The studio was clean, but not the greek basic we are used to, very basic more to the point!
During our stay, and we are still here as I write this. The room is cleaned by a wonderful girl Maria, she needs a gold clock for all the work she does. The day bar staff, Nia and another young girl, work their socks off. Food during the day is excellent. but changes in the bar on a night. They charge one price at the start of the night, and as people arrive back from their evening out they then rise the prices and sometimes treble it, just to make more money.
As for the apartment situation we went for quiet and friendly. The day staff are very friendly, as are the other holiday makers. But quiet never in your dreams, if you could sleep at all, with the road noise and the drag racing along the road outside the apartments every night.
Shops are very expensive in this resort; basic water was double the price. Beautiful views but full of buses fumes and rubbish everywhere. Will not return.

An amazing resort and amazing apartments. Phivos consists of only 16 room, allowing a peaceful and relaxing holiday. It has its own swimming pool and pool bar complete with friendly staff who all speak English.
Paleo itself is a beautiful part of Corfu and perfect for the quiet and relaxing holidays (it was our honeymoon), as long as you don’t mind walking!
The beaches themselves are not sand, yet there are plenty of other things to do such as boat rides, corfu trips, swimming, bars etc.
