Apart from the apartment itself, here are a few other reasons why: Benavista is so central on the Costa del Sol, which is renowned internationally, has an abundance of leisure, recreational cultural and sporting facilities to sample. With top quality restaurants and sophisticated nightlife.
Also known as the Costa del Golf for its abundance of wonderful golf causes. Not forgetting its average 330 sunshine days each year. With those warm balmy evenings during the summer months, perfect for alfresco dining. The apartment is close to both. Malaga & Gibraltar airports, giving you more choice and varied costs. Whatever you look for in a holiday.
A quiet spot to relax by the pool with the latest bestseller, a day on the beach, watersports, theme parks to keep the children entertained, market shopping or designer shopping, you have chosen the right place. There are beguiling landscapes and many protected areas boasting numerous plant life, while Ronda, & Malaga have many architectural charms, museums & art galleries. Malaga has the Picasso Museum. If you want to travel further there are the graceful cities of Seville, Granada & Corodoba.
You could take a day trip to Morocco or Portugal. Explore the coast The Costa del Sol has around 300 kms of the Spanish Mediterranean coast belonging to the province of Granada, Malaga & Cadiz. You will find lots of harbours. The mild climate, light rainfall & sea breeze produce vegetation such as palm & cypresses. The countryside & mountains are undoubtedly one of the main attractions of the coast. Estepona: Has a pleasant palm studded promenade and a chic fishing marina. It offers a wide choice of excursions, has plenty of good bars and restaurants, an old town as well as good modern shopping. There is a Sunday’s tourist market down in the port & a large local’s market at the back of the town on a Wednesday mornings. There are also around four museums here.
Marbella: A cosmopolitan city & playground for the jet set. The picturesque old town with its Plaza do los Naranjos (Orange Square) gives you a glimpse of the past with its old buildings but with today’s luxuries of shady cafes & restaurants, boutiques & shops. In the old Parque de Constitucion outdoor summer concerts are held. The towns beaches stretch the length of the Gold mile to Puerto Banus, one of Europe's most famous marinas. And is home to some of the most impressive yachts in the world.
There is a wide selection of bars, restaurants, designer shops, clubs and pubs. In the summer months, the whole place rocks 'till daybreak' but expect to pay for it. There are many renowned visitors that have passed through it, including the King and Queen of Spain and Belgium, General Franco. Celebrities can often be spotted there, and is the place to see & be seen in. Mijas: Situated in the mountains just 8km behind Fuengirola. It is one of the Costa del Sols most accessible white villages. There are lots of steep cobbled streets filled with souvenir & craft shops.
As you climb to the top you will find one of Spain's smallest bull rings. There is also the shrine of El Puerto & the Virgen de la Pena. Take a horse and carriage ride around the town. Mijas is a gastronomic delight. Join the villagers for the Easter Celebrations or during September for the village fair. Fuengirola: A very large town with miles of sandy beaches. There is a large aqua park & a modern bio-park Zoo for the kids. You will find Spanish Tapas here but more on the menu is bangers & mash or fish & chips! Ronda, from the apartment the quickest route is via San Pedro, but you can get to it via the town of Coin.
Travel up the mountain road all the way to the top! It is a very interesting town well visited by tourists. Offering spectacular views. If you are visiting out of season take your woolly as it can be chilly being so high up.
Malaga City: A mix of old & new with designer stores, ancient ruins, a bustling modern port & old buildings. A 15th Century cathedral is the centre point to the meandering lanes & plazas that make up Malaga’s old town. The city is also rich in culture with museums & galleries including that of ‘Picasso’. Malaga also has a huge port for many cruise liners. There is a bull ring & football stadium which hosts European & international games on a regular basis.
Granada: Approximately 2½ hours drive from the apartment located in the foothills of the snow-capped Sierra Nevada range, some 2,200 feet above sea level. Granada is full of romance & folklore. There is an abundance of everything here.. Restaurants, bars, shopping, plaza’s, whitewashed houses, a Cathedral and much more. Sevilla: Around a five hour drive from the apartment. Sevilla is the city of Carmen, Don Juan & Figaro. During Easter week there is a week long party of drink, food & dance that takes place day & night in hundreds of specially mounted tents.
Sevilla lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir & is one of the largest historical centres in Europe. Part of its treasures include; Casa de Pilatos, the Town Hall, archive of the Indies, where the historical records of the American continent are kept. The fine arts museum plus churches & palaces. Gibraltar: A great airport to fly to for the apartment. Measuring less than six square kilometers & stretching skywards of some 426 metres. It is a British colony and so one can get a real flavour of Briton with its English bobbies (police men) pounds sterling currency and being English spoken.
It is steeped in history. Ancient mariners first arrived here by the 8th century BC. There is plenty to do on the Rock of Gibraltar.
