We had a great holiday in North Yorkshire. Gowland Farm Holiday Cottages are located in Cloughton, Scarborough and set in beautiful countryside.
We went last year and loved it so much we returned this year. The owners really look after you. Lots of nice touches in the cottage such as a welcome tray and bath towels, liquid soap and bath/shower gel provided. There are cleaning materials under the sink and an iron and vacuum if needed.
Jane (the owner) will even change your bath towels on Wednesday if you want fresh ones. They also offer a laundry service if required, at a small fee. They cannot do enough for you.
We visited Filey and Scarborough for our seaside part of the holiday. Both had lovely clean beaches.
Whitby was also really lovely with plenty to see. This part of Yorkshire also have SuperLoos. You may have to pay 20p to go to the toilet but believe me it is well worth it. It made a nice change to be able to use clean toilets that are well kept. There are even flowers in vases by the sinks and liquid soap by every single sink!
There are so many beautiful small villages to visit and many places of interest. I cannot recommend it highly enough. I can recommend visits to Eden Camp, Castle Howard and Whitby Abbey. Also areas to visit are: Goathland (known as Aidensfield, where Heartbeat is filmed), Thornton La Dale, Pickering and so many more I had better stop now!
