My partner & I stayed at this establishment in July 2005 for one night only. We encountered difficulties in booking our room. On the two occasions we telephoned there was no one authorized to take our booking & a further e-mail went unanswered. After making our reservation & paying a deposit we did not receive conformation of booking as promised & yet again had to contact Foyers Bay House. As before our telephone calls went unanswered, however on this occasion we did receive a reply to an e-mail request for deposit conformation 3 days later.
On arrival we found a beautiful old Victorian house with many of its original features. It was clean & functional but with some worn patches on the hall & stairs carpets that may pose a hazard for less able-bodied guests. The rooms where presentable & fully equipped. We found the owner to be unwelcoming & rather sharp in her manner. We were not offered any local information & due to her demeanor we did not feel able to ask for it.
The breakfast room had stunning views across Loch Ness, however we did not find the cooked breakfast to be at all appetising. It was small, undercooked & contained an item we could not distinguish that was later identified to us as scrambled egg. The meats where of poor quality, visibly greasy & inedible. The cereals, fruits & yoghurts where laid out rather untidily although there was plenty to choose from.
Overall we did not find Foyers Bay House to offer the professionalism & hospitality of the establishments in the surrounding Loch Ness area.
