Express By Holiday Inn Chester Racecourse

The hotel is what you would expect from a Holiday Inn only the rooms are smaller and there is no bath. The hotel is also situated right next to the railway line so is extremely noisy if you open your windows. The rooms are clean and relatively new and the breakfast is good but did become a bit dull after the 3rd morning. The hotel is minutes away from the city centre and parking is free so is probably one of the better options this close to the centre of Chester.

Excllent value for money over the New Year period. Prime location just a short stroll into the centre of Chester. Only gripe was the housekeeping. Our room was cleaned on the first night but not on the second or third night. The bed was made and the towels changed but dirty cups were left,the wash basin and shower area were left untouched and the tea, bathroom extra's were not topped up.

We stayed at this hotel last week and loved it. The hotel is quite new so the hotel is very clean and tidy. We had a room overlooking the racecourse. Breakfast is great. 5 min walk into city centre. Will stay again !

Stayed in this hotel with my husband and two young children. It was very clean and within 5 minutes to the centre of this lovely city. Free continental breakfast included in the price. Staff were very helpful. Modern room clean and bright, ours overlooked the racecourse which was even better as the races were on! If you want a cheap and cheerful stay in Chester, near to the city centre, with free parking and free breakfast, look no further.

This hotel was great. Just one block from the central town area. The hotel was clean and the racecourse nearby gave the guest a good view of green grass. Very pretty. I would recommend it to anyone and definitly stay here again.

This modern hotel is excellent. Rooms are bright and spotless. Free continental breakfast is provided each morning. Plenty of parking outside and only a five minute walk into the centre of Chester. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

The room was very clean and well planned, including the en suite shower room. The staff were very friendly and informative and the buffet style breakfast was a bonus. Location is excellent.

Enjoyed our one night stay. We stayed in several Holiday Inn Express properties (using Priority Club points) and the room here did seem smaller than in others. Nevertheless, it was clean, quiet and had a good shower. The hotel is right on the race track (the horses were not running) which provides a great view. It is only a few minutes walk to the city walls and pedestrian walkways in beautiful Chester.

Clean, modern, light and spacious rooms which are good value (especially if you include the free breakfast). The hotel is ideally situated just outside Chester's city walls. Be aware that the hotel is next to a train line, so - with the windows open on a warm night - some noise will be heard. We also found the bed rather small and uncomfortable compared with a Travel Inn we had just stayed at. The staff were very friendly and efficient, and I am sure you could do a lot worse than stay here.

Overlooking the historic Rodee racecourse, this new brand hotel makes a very favourable first impression and does not flatter to deceive. The hotel is also located very close to the Roman Walls which encircle the city centre and by definition it is less than a 3-minute walk to Chester Cross, Cathederal, Town Hall, the Rows, the better pubs and restaurants as well as the major shopping streets.
