We stayed at Cricket St Thomas Valentines weekend 2009 and found the majority of guests were in the late sixties and over age group. The entertainment was on par with any show on the West End and the staff apart from one person in the restaurant were very attentive and helpful. The hotel is large at 220 rooms so the catering is on a huge scale so dont expect a la carte more Spanish three star level. The spa and swimming pool area was very clean and empty of guests and is open to non residents for £ 540.00 per year.
My advice would be go for a Signature room for a better quality of accomodation and learn to do old time dancing.

This is a beautifully situated hotel, extremely well run, with friendly and efficient staff. I was particularly impressed by the excellent menus and delicious food.
Professional entertainment is offered every night and during our 4 night stay was very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to tour Somerset or Cornwall. Unless traveling to the hotel by coach on tour a car is a necessity as the nearest town is Chard and this is 3 miles away.
One small disadvantage is that there is no mobile telephone signal as the hotel is in a blank area. A signal can be reached immediately upon reaching the main road. There are plenty of land line phones in the hotel.

Only did the New Year Break this time,wish we could have afforded more time there! Our room, 301, was lovely just wish for a bit more hanging space. Food was excellent,service very good and as for the in-house entertainment team......they are the best! Even as non-dancers we enjoyed watching other residents kicking their heels up and recommend this particular Warners hotel to anyone.
