When reading the reviews written on websites such as this one, i was slightly anxious after i had booked this hotel. However, I extremely enjoyed my stay at Las Piramides. My boyfriend and I had a generously sized room with a comfortable bed and sitting area. Our balcony was huge with a great view of the pool and the sea.
I found brekfast was fine and enjoyed the evening meals.
The hotel itself is nice and the staff are also friendly.
My only moan is that the hotel staff on arrival, did not inform us of many things that we would later need to know. For example we were not told when and where brekfast / dinner was, or that our mini fridge in our room would need an extra key to work, and more importantly that we were supposed to be out our room by 12pm on day of departure even though our flight wasn't until 11:50pm. I am aware that this often happens in many hotels however I'm pretty sure that most other hotels will let you know what time you are supposed to be out of your room rather than expecting you to be out by a certain time and consequently deactivating your room key so you can't get in to get your belongings.
Furthermore, we endured more hassle on our date of departure when we were told that we were not entitled to our evening meal as we were supposed to start our stay with dinner and end it with brekfast. However, because we had arrived late at the start of our holiday we were not in time for the evening meal and we were not told that we could still have food that they had 'kept back' for us. We were able to get out evening meal in the end after waiting around in reception for afew hours in order to speak to the manager.
Other than that our stay would have been pretty near perfect if it wasn't for the lack of communication on arrival.

Simply Dreadful hotel. Poor food and cleanliness. Could not recommend it to anyone. Glad to be home after 9 days in this hotel . Staff are miserable and never smile! Entertainment is almost non existant and the cost of drinks is ridiculous. We ate out as the food was so bad and visited friends in the Hotel Angela most nights where we were made very welcome. The worst hotel we have stayed in for ages! We dont know who gave it a 4* rating but it wasnt worth 3 stars.

My mother and I have just returned from a very pleasant, relaxing week at Las Piramides. The transfer from the airport was smooth and reception staff friendly. First impressions of the hotel were promising as the foyer/ground floor was clean and well decorated.
Our twin room on the 8th floor was spacious, comfortable and had a small fridge (no kettle). BBC 1 and Eurosport could be found on the TV. Our balcony overlooked the sea and was furnished with table and chairs. The bathroom had a 3 piece suite and a complimentary toiletries basket. Maids cleaned the room daily to a good standard and were always courteous.
Yes drinks in the hotel were expensive but we bought supplies very cheaply at the nearby supermarket and sat on our balcony to enjoy them before going down to diner.
The waiter always asked if we wanted drinks with our evening meal but didn't mind in the slightest when we declined.
All meals were buffet style but diner was served in a formal dinning-room and breakfast in a more relaxed area with some tables outside.
Personally I loved the variety and choice of food. It's very easy to eat heathily here as emphasis is placed on salads, fish, fresh fruit etc.
Entertainment included a rather poor pianist 6 nights a week in the Orange bar, a flamenco show on Saturdays and singers on the remaining nights.
As advertised the hotel is best suited to adults. We had good weather and never had difficulty in finding a sun lounger. The pool area was spotlessly clean with good toilet facilities.
I would definately return to this hotel but only during April/May I'm sure things will be less pleasant as the season progresses and the hotel fills up!

We went in February and it rained almost the whole time so we spent a lot of time in the hotel! The staff were very friendly and helpful, inc the porter and the hotel maintance guy who fixed our keycard when it wouldn't open our door!
The food was lovely! Everything you could want for a continental breakfast (to an average standard). Evening meals had a great choice- fish, meat, vegi, rice, potato dishes to choose from most evenings. Drinks a little expensive 4E for 2 orange juices.
Unfortunately was too cold to use the outdoor pool but there is a tiny indoor one (in a large green house thing) which was great as the hotel was quite quiet so when we went in there was just the two of us and it was warm enough.
There is also a small gym and spa with sauna, jacuzzi and showers. We paid about 12E to use it for the week, which was well worth it with the bad weather. We used it almost every morning and the jacuzzi is lovely! Only downside is it was only open in the mornings. I also had a foot massage by the lady working there which was really nice!
The hotel is in a great location for the beach, castle, shopping centre and bars/ restaurants.
Rooms are average standard, be warned if it's windy (which it was!) the sea view rooms are quite noisy! Rooms have a TV with some English channels, but NO KETTLE!

Was staying at the Las Piramides apartments, just off the famous clubbing area of Fuengirola, hotel was too good, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Festivals there was great drinks and gals and clubs, rocking day and night, and I would not stay at any other apartments or hotel.
The food was out of this world. There is loads to do for all ages and the staff tell you where the best places to go for your age. If I could get a job there I would not hesitate to move there.
The locals are very friendly they fall over themselves to help. The beach is so clean and so are the streets.

The only good thing about this hotel is the room, spotlessly clean great air conditioning unit also fridge.
The breakfast room is way too small to accommodate all the people you queue for about 30 mins in a very small confined space for what can only be described as overcooked cold eggs/bacon.
The glasses used for fresh orange are so small you don't even get a mouth full. The dining room for dinner was a little larger but you are finger clicked by a waiter to your table and instantly asked if you want drinks - 1 bottle of water & 1 beer = 8 euros very expensive.
Again not a lot of choice maybe 2 meals i.e., some sort of shepherds pie and turkey in a Spanish sauce.
The pool area is very poor. It is a square pool with 3/4 being very deep and only 1/4 is shallow. There is only 1 row of sun beds around 3 sides of the pool approx 50 definitely not enough for the hotel.
The pool is locked until 9.30 and people start to queue from 8.30 if you don't you will not get a space. The bar at the pool is also very expensive 9.50 euros for 2 beers.
We ate out for the whole of the holiday and only used the hotel to sleep in - a very big disappointment and would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We were transferred here from a hotel that we had booked in Torremolinos that was awful!
This hotel looks lovely from the outside and the reception area is lovely too, the lady at reception was always lovely and really helpful.
The room the put us in was nice as well and was cleaned every day, the maids were also very pleasant.
One day our pram broke (the back bar snapped and was looking like we were going to have to buy a new one!) we asked the lady at reception where we could buy a new one and she got the hotel technician to have a look and he fixed it.
Which was really great and kept our spending money!
We were here in December over xmas and new year so I cannot comment on it in the high season but when we were there it was mostly elderly people.
There is a piano bar and this was on in the evenings, there was no other place to sit really than there to have drinks etc and as we have three children aged 3 years and twins just turned 2, this wasn’t really what they would have wanted and we would have felt uncomfortable sitting with them making noise and others wanting to relax!
We were bed and breakfast and it was a buffet. You go in and get a table in the morning; the lady there was great and always had 2 high chairs waiting for us when we arrived in the morning.
The selection of food was the same every day but it was nice. There were croissants, pastries, yoghurts, fruit, cold meats, sausages, bacon, beans, tomatoes, and every day they alternated between scrambled and fried eggs, you could also have toast and a variety of fruit juices and hot drinks.
We also ate in there for lunch 2 days and it was very nice also. A lot to choose from on the menu.
We had a great time in Fuengirola though, there are plenty of cafes and bars and the zoo was great too, we ended up there twice it was that good! In the centre there is a children’s play area and there is areas for them to play on the beach as well.
We also got a train to Torremolinos but if you have a pram or wheelchair I wouldn’t recommend as the trains there were very high up and we had a job trying to get the twin buggy on to them!
In all this hotel was ok, the staff were great and the food was ok as well.
Only complaint was there wasn’t much for the kids to do in the hotel but I think that Fuengirola would probably be really good high season as I have heard there is a lot to do there then.

This hotel was excellent - with really helpful friendly staff.
They provided a cot for our baby. There is a heated indoor pool and outdoor pool. The food was a bit exotic for us in the evenings - but there are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes near by in Fuengirola.
The price of food is low and the standard was great. There are plenty of things to do in the resort. There are also lots of places nearby to visit - we hired a car and the places were easy to find - even if the map supplied was useless.
Overall this was an excellent holiday - lovely weather, great resort and nice hotel.

Before booking this resort I can truthfully say that I checked out the reviews on here and yes as well as the good reviews I read the bad. Most of the bad reviews tended to focus on the food and entertainment (something which both my friend and I mocked after reading)...all I can say is IM SORRY – I should have listened.
Let me start by saying that I am 26 and my friend is 23 – I feel that this is important for you to know because no doubt the good reviews written by people on here were aged 60 and above. If you are looking for a quiet nursing home atmosphere then please book this resort as the average age of the guests was 65 and you would fit in nicely. If on the other hand you happen to fall below that age bracket here are the reasons I urge you to consider somewhere else.
The hotel has been given a 4 star rating – something the hotel seems to pride itself on evidenced by the bright neon 4 star lights on the outside of the building (2 of which I hasten to add did not work).
On arrival we were pleasantly surprised (and maybe a little disturbed) by the ornate setting of the reception. Ok we thought – we can do ornate (it is after all a 4 star hotel). This view was quickly changed when we saw our room. Not only was it small and dark but the decor was something from the 1940s. Cane furniture made up most of the room with a dirty, old mini fridge lurking behind one of the curtains. If you had any plans to take a hair-dryer, iron (basically anything with a plug) put that thought out of your mind now – the room only had 2 sockets (1 for the fridge which broke when we tried pulling it out and the other for the tv). The walls to the rooms were paper thin – yes we could hear everything including someone throwing up – as a result of what I can only assume was the food but I will come on to that later.
In terms of the rest of the hotel, to keep you occupied there was a tv room (same 2 channels as the bedroom), a writing room – to write letters to your loved ones (never once saw anyone in there) and a games area (ping pong and table football).
Every night the hotel put on entertainment for the guests (great I hear you shout – but no). Two acts alternated the nights – the first was a trio of men (just think the three amigos) playing Spanish music. The second was a man and woman double act with the woman bellowing out Spanish hits (from I am guessing the 70s). The only people that attended these “entertaining events” were the oldies – gave them a chance to shuffle closely together.
Dinner was served up in the restaurant and was a buffet. The first day we piled the food high with the variety of dishes (mostly un identified) onto our plates – we soon learnt not to do that again! Most of the food was processed food from a tin (we actually saw the “chef” one evening trying to hide the tins in the rubbish). Of the food that was cooked from scratch you have to ask yourself what goes through the minds of someone who thinks lamb in strawberry sauce and knees in pasta would make tasty dishes. As for dessert where do I start – tinned fruit in its own juice, angel delight and ice-cream were on the menu every night. Additional dishes were added most night but these tended to be re-cycled from the previous day. Case in point being one night we had what I can only assume was supposed to be creme brulee, the next night was the same creme brulee with a digestive biscuit stuck on the top...4 star remember!
Ok moving away from the hotel, the beach was 2 minutes away from the resort and very clean (that is probably the only good thing you will hear me say so treasure it). If like us you want to experience the night life of a foreign city (and by that I mean clubs and bars), there is a strip of places near the marina (well I say strip there are about 6 places to go). Don’t bother leaving your hotel until midnight because nothing gets started until then. As for the clubs themselves, 1 was full of under-age people grinding against poles and the other was fine if you like people who look like they are on drugs. The bars were fine but quite pricey with the average drink being 5 Euros.
Yes this review reads like something from war and peace but I felt it was my duty to let you all know what you are letting yourself in for if you do visit Las Piramides. Maybe I should become a travel writer...
