" Myself and my husband booked a weeks... "
Submitted By: Mrs H RippardOn both occasions we have had a wonderful holiday. The food is basic but adequate, the rooms were spotless, and we had a balcony looking over the pool and across to the sea. There was entertainment each evening.
The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The resort is small with a few bars and shops. If you want a quiet break, this is the place to stay. We will be back for a 3rd visit this December, this time for 2 weeks including Christmas.

Submitted By: Mr PJ SquireThe Reps are useless and the accommodation not much worse. Most of the holiday fund went on eating out, thank god for Beckhams bar down the road.
The eating area is hot with flies all over the food and the entertainment area is nothing short of a disgrace.
When you are trying to watch the evening entertainment while cranking your neck around the concrete pillars, watch where you put your feet, as the cockroaches live in the pillars where the tiles are broken and loose around the base area.
On one of the days where we went down to the sea my daughter got covered in oil and upon seeking some help from one of the reps she gave us fly spray to get rid of the oil!!
Always when we go to Tenerife we take some Ariel washing capsules we tried this on the oil and it worked a treat.
The Spanish staff did their best in all honesty but the English reps are not working for their English visitors. To top it all off on the final night my partner had her purse stolen with the loss of £80 English pounds in it. Instead of enduring a coach ride from the complex the next day to come home we ordered a taxi to leave ASAP.
The entertainment staff also do their best but for anyone going here watch your valuables and be prepared to eat out a lot.

Submitted By: manonspotSat TV had only sky news, the bar closed at 11:45 prompt. you couldn’t buy a drink after this time and security hounded you to bed, many guests were paying to leave and others stuck it out because it was only a week.
The only reason I give this 1 is because the beer was ok, go there at your own risk.

I would recommend this hotel and i sure will be going again.....say hello to anna the nail girl.
" My boyfriend and I have just returned... "
Submitted By: Miss J SuttonWe had no delay arriving to Tenerife, however, when we did arrive at the airport we were told that our coach had gone missing, however, this was not a great problem as it arrived around 15 minutes later.
When we got to the hotel my first impression was that it was very basic. It was fairly noisy and full of children, I was so relieved when the receptionist allocated us a room on the top floor! I had requested top floor and sea view room! That’s what I got, well as well as a building site view!! I thought having a room on the top floor would mean less noise and a decent night sleep haha you must be joking, we were situated right above the bin shed, and every morning at 2.30ish the bin men would come and empty the bins, the noise was dreadful, that would last for around 10 minutes!
The room was very basic, maid service was **** as we only had a change of towels twice in a week and no fresh bedding. The floor was never swept and the bathroom was hardly cleaned!! This was the first hotel I have been to without air conditioning. I would never do that again!
The food was good, I must say the breakfast was the best meal of the day, with a full English breakfast. The dinner and tea was more a less the same food. We ate out twice (once at Burger King in Los Christianos and once at the 'all you can eat' Chinese down the road. - This I would recommend.
Drinks were good, although a little strong!! I shouldn't really complain about that!! The beer made my boyfriend ill, so after the 1st night he went onto vodka and coke!
The area is very quiet, not really what I expected, I mean the beach is a little cove thing! We went down there a few times, the view was fantastic!
We also booked to go on the Dolphin and Whale trip 45euros for 4 hours all inclusive on a catamaran! This trip was fantastic, one I definitely recommend! We got to see whales and dolphins, I have got some brilliant pictures and memories from that.
The pool area was ok, although I could hardly touch the floor in the SHALLOW end! Entertainment round the pool was good, I joined in the Olympics! My boyfriend enjoyed the killer pool, killer darts and water polo.
Entertainment in the evening was absolutely fantastic, we didn't go out elsewhere for entertainment! I must admit having knives thrown at you it VERY scary, yes I was chose to go up on stage! They also tried making me hold a snake - NO WAY!!
Overall I enjoyed this holiday, don't think I would go to the same place twice! Would prefer to go somewhere a little livelier! I would only recommend a week at this hotel!

When this person eventually did arrive he said he had fixed it but when I tried to open it was jammed. so yet again I went to tell the receptionist we want another room she said they are full for the whole week that we were there so that was us b******d.

The food was terrible and the drinks were just soda water and the staff were miserable.... Never again will i go there ...please just save your money and go to Scarborough.
" I have just returned from this hotel... "
Submitted By: Mrs J ButlerLets start with the hotel itself, the whole building is in bad need of repair everything is old and dirty, plaster dropping off walls you can see where walls have been patched up and painted over and cracks have reappeared there are broken and cracked floor tiles even on steps leading to the dining room, there are metal grips on the floor leading into the bar from the pool area that stick up quite a bit, lots of guests trip over them myself included.
The bar area where the evening entertainment is shown is dreadful there are huge columns in there that don’t allow you to see the acts, unless you get in there very early to claim your seat you have no chance of seeing anything, there is no air conditioning so you are very hot and no extractor fans to take cigarette smoke out leaving the doors open does not help. The pool area was left covered in litter ( don’t think guests now how to use waste bins) sun lounges and tables where dirty and sun shades all need replacing.
While we where their children and teenagers where left to their own means, on occasion they run riot in the evening, in two weeks we saw the security guy once, he walked around the pool and went to where ever it is he goes.
Food was ok, but don’t bother asking for a packed lunch if you are going out for the day, we did , the chef (who was a rude man), got a brown paper bag through in a boiled egg, pat of butter, cheese and salami wrapped in cling film, bottle of water and a bap so hard the plastic knife was useless for it, I threw it all in the bin disgusted.
Maid service was almost non they come to make your bed leave you clean towels twice a week, floors are not cleaned, bathroom never cleaned, balcony furniture was dirty table full of old stains.
The hotel reception staff tried there best and where pleasant, the waiters and bar staff work hard, holiday reps, well I cant say much about the kids reps as I never dealt with them, but we paid a rep 15euros to pre-book our seats homes we asked for 2 isle seats needless to say we didn’t get them.
We had to make the best of a bad thing, we went out most days on trips booked from the shop down the road they are a lot cheaper than reps trips.
As the saying goes you get what you pay for but in this case I think we still paid to much for this hotel.
I read the reviews about this hotel before going on holiday and thought it cant be that bad, oh was I wrong.
I don’t know why first choice have let this hotel go to ruins, they must know what it is like.
If you want a Butlins holiday camp in the sun then book to go to Ocean Club.
I only give Ocean Club 2 rating for the hardworking staff.
I will never book to go there again, I have paid less for a holiday and got better service.

We found the staff to be very helpful and pleasant on the whole. The food was good and there was a good choice....never once did we have to go hungry as we couldn’t find something we liked! The drink selection was great and the kids loved helping themselves to ice creams! The rooms are basic but comfortable ,but I agree that the linen could be changed more often!

The pool was very deep, it came up to my neck in the shallow end and I'm 5ft 6"! Therefore I was very wary about letting my younger children in there unless either me or my husband was in the pool with them. This meant the younger less able to swim of my children had to stay in the baby pool if I wanted to sunbathe...but they didn’t seem to mind too much! Some children are unruly and the parents don’t keep an eye on them but that’s hardly the tour operator or hotels fault.....more like bad parenting!
I found the entertainment around the pool during the day a bit monotonous.....but that’s a personal view as I'm not really an organised game kind of person. The people who took part in killer pool, water volleyball and water polo all looked happy enough. For me the evening entertainment was not as good as I had hoped.....by the end of the week even my kids had had enough of the same old songs in the mini disco!!

The problem is as Callao Salvaje is a long way from anywhere else (trust me if your travel agent tells you that you can walk to Playa they are seriously lying!!!) and you have paid all inclusive then you tend to be stuck there sometimes against your will! I would recommend the whale watching boat trip, that was fantastic and money well spent! On the whole we had a good time, the weather was amazing, the staff were helpful, the food was good and the accommodation was adequate. Would I go back?

To Tenerife yes, but I would like to stay somewhere a little more lively next time.....Los Cristianos seemed nice and quieter than the neighbouring Playa, and had nicer beaches too. Callao Salvaje has more of a rocky outcrop than a beach....pretty but not ideal to sunbathe! Oh, and if you fancy a nice meal.....try the Chinese buffet all you can eat for about 6 euros.. great value!!!!
" Well what can I say about this... "
Submitted By: Miss A SoleraWhen we first got into the room we were not happy the state of the room was unacceptable, we were put in a room that was supposed to sleep four people, but it was a room no bigger than my bed room. There were two single beds, then there was a sofa bed and underneath that there was a put-me-up bed. The pillows we were given were made from some find of foam this was very uncomfortable, but I won’t go too much into that. Finally we got moved to a two bedroom place on the fifth floor over looking the football pitch. We had to pay extra for our room so we were not happy about this.
The cockroaches were not that much of a problem but they did make one or two appearances, they were down by the trampoline and there some in the loos.
The food was so bad we were basically living on chips the whole time we were there, every thing was served cold and the menus were all the same. Ice cream was served all day!
The entertainment was ok but you could not see the stage very well because of some very large pillars blocking the view.
The pool was disgusting on one day there was a blockage in one of the filters so every one had to get out of the pool. The blockage was a "poo"!!!!!!!!!! HOW DISGUSTING !!!!!!!!
Over all the holiday was made a little more pleasant by our new friends, but I advise you to stay well clear of this hotel!!!! (For your own safety!)

The entertainment was fantastic with the presenters Hailey, Van and Beatrice well done to you all. The food wasn’t bad, the drinks got stronger as the nights went on, the pool was very deep but good, there are not many facilities for disabled people, the only bad thing I came across was a lot of unruly children running about till all hours and their parents not bothering about it.
But all in all not a bad holiday.
A free bus is provided by the hotel to Las Americas. The hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very helpful and courteous to us. The food was absolutely lovely albeit a little repetitive towards the end of the week. Nonetheless very well presented and something to suit all appetites. I don t understand how people can whinge and moan about the food here. You get what you pay for and this cost us less that £300.00! The drinks were more than adequate and not watered down dross which we have had on previous all Inclusives.
The entertainment was superb which a strong line up of very talented performers who were very professional. Especially Van Elliott who had us in stitches every night, Top man!!!
All in all it suits families probably more than couples but there is even a roof top adults only terrace for a little privacy away from the water splashing kiddies!!
The room and pool were fine, no issues, basic but clean and more than adequate. Some people want 5 star luxury for £300 and get very disappointed. If you are realistic and like us are a firm believer in "YOU PAYS FOR WHAT YOU GET" then you will love this place like we did. Definitely would return!
Even the Hotel staff were so polite willing to teach you things and explain things to you. You couldn’t ask for a friendlier holiday destination, anyone that doesn’t enjoy a holiday at the Ocean club apartments in Callao Salvaje are mad and narrow minded! Even the kids club workers where brilliant always working so hard and were just so friendly to everyone. Loopy loo and hyper Hayley were fantastic and alot of fun. It made me not want to come home.

I loved every minute of my holiday in fact my parents who I went with are going again in a week they loved it that much and I am going back there to live and I'm going to be going back to this hotel to have a holiday in a few weeks myself I loved it and just want to say thank you to everyone for making my holiday brilliant Emma Dunham from Coventry xxxxx
The hotel was fine. Very clean and friendly staff. The food was fine.. a bit repetitive but certainly tasty and the kids enjoyed it. The pool was deep and cold but still fun and very very clean. Accommodation clean but basic.. what do you expect for the price? Honestly.. go to Ocean Club.

All in all a great place for a cheap fun packed holiday without the noise and drunks seen in other resorts.. The kids will love it!

Advice: save ur money and go to butlins instead
Activities: going out to see the whales and going up the volcano
