My boyfriend and I just had the best holiday at Karbel, it was our second time to Olu Deniz, and we were in a smaller hotel last year not as close to the beach, but we thought Karbel was in a perfect location. The Staff are amazing they can't do enough for you. There is something going on at this Hotel every night the Pool competition is good, along with the half price cocktails, Bingo, bbq's, circus, break dancers, belly dancers and Salsa dancers so you're never bored!
We Like Olu Deniz because its fairly quiet, but the music at the pool bar gets turned down really low at 12 because of families etc, so when we didn't want an early night we went to Crusoe’s, the drinks there are a little bit more expensive than the other bars, but it plays the best music (for my taste R'nB, club, chart and a little bit of Turkish!) we stayed there till 4:30 a few nights playing pool with the Locals (Sore Losers!) and we went to a couple of Foam Parties there, that was an Experience!
There are so many Restaurants to choose from even though we were half board and the food at the Hotel was very good, we still ate out about 5 times in two weeks, Pepinos does Lovely Pizzas (just down the main strip) I Love Help for food, we also went to the Chinese right at the bottom near the beach upstairs that was really tasty. Ottomans does a lovely cooked breakfast if you want a change or have a lie in and miss breakfast!
We didn't go on many trips this year, because we did a lot last year and we just wanted to chill, we went Horse riding for my Birthday in Hisaronu NOT RECOMENDED!! The horses were not given any water on a 3 hour Trek over the mountain to the ghost town, and they were putting fully grown men on Horses that were under 14 hands, When I mentioned these things I was ignored or regards the water told "later" they were not under weight but look very worn and old and there is a boy running along side constantly telling you to kick them if they stop for a rest, the horse the guide was on veered to the side so he slapped it round the head 3 times and was kicking it very hard, I got quite upset so wouldn't recommend anybody supports this!
The rooms are small and basic, very clean though and you're not in your room half the time anyway. This was an amazing Holiday and we met some really Lovely people we will be returning to Karbel next year with friends.

Had a wonderful holiday at this hotel. Rooms are on the small side but very clean. proper shower and air condition included. The maids ensured the room was kept spotless! (imagine 2 girls sharing!!) The gardens are very pretty and well looked after.
The pool is lovely with beds and umbrellas. There is a card system to use (no money) so be careful if you don't want a big shock at the end of the hols. Pay some every few days is the best idea. The food was very good and plenty to eat, especially for breakfast. All the staff is really friendly and helpful. There is a hairdresser and barbers at the hotel. There is some evening entertainment and the bbq is really good - but hide if you don't want to dance with the belly dancer. Also there is a Turkish evening around the pool. There is a photographer around and about the hotel taking his photos. - Omer - who is very good at taking photos (and chatting up all the girls!!) He takes photos during the day and when you are nicely dressed for the evening.........
Watch out for him and his very flattering remarks- you will be “charmed" by him!! (Don't be too taken in by him - he wants an English girlfriend (like all the other guys?!) - oh dear!!!
We had lovely meals in the restaurants in the resort. The Help bar was very good (huge burgers) We also liked Buzz bar amongst many others.
The beach is pebbly but surrounded by lovely mountains (what a view)! There are pedalos and canoes to hire at the lagoon (it gets very hot at the lagoon). People in the resort are very friendly and helpful and like to chat to you (but be warned if you are girls on your own -you may get a little fed up with the attention you are given by the guys.
There are different trips you can book - the jeep safari is great fun (you will get very wet and dirty). Don't miss having a Turkish bath.
We would certainly go back to this resort and hotel for another holiday.
You will enjoy yourself very much if you have already booked to go. (Lucky you) we are sure you will have a great holiday!!!

My Wife and I have just returned home from our holiday at the Karbel Hotel. This was out third time staying there. The holiday was fantastic, as we expected it to be.
The staff are so friendly and polite. The new lobby bar is a very cozy bar to sit in and has been a good addition to the hotel.
The addition of TV, hair dryer and mini fridge in the rooms is a nice touch but the air con is a god send
The week we spent there was a total chill out just what we needed, hassle free.

We spent a wonderful 2 weeks in this lovely hotel. The rooms were a bit small but very clean, and had a proper shower, TV and fridge (which was really handy to keep cold drinks in). Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The maids made lovely shapes out of the towels and put flowers on the bed!
The food was really good, lovely breakfasts, sometimes there was omlette and scrambled egg as well as the usual everyday foods i.e. fruit, cereal, eggs, toast, pastries and lots of other things!
The staff in the restaurant were really hardworking as were the staff around the pool and pool bar. They were also lots of fun especially Rodney!
The BBQ was a good evening, but watch out for the belly dancer who will try and get you to join in.
You can have your photos taken by Omer the photographer, who is around and about all day and during the evening, to snap you in the pool or when you are dressed up in the evening.
We liked Olu Deniz and all the lovely mountains - we could look the paragliding while we were cooling off in the pool. Very relaxing).
There are lots of nice places to eat and in the evening you can sit on beanbags along the beach and watch the sunset. It is not a place for rowdy evenings and no drunken nights. Just suitable really for families and couples and young people who are not looking for crazy nightlife.
If you go, or are going to go soon, I am sure you will have a lovely time. If you are a teenage girl or a little older, just watch out for the Turkish lads, they really want and need an english girlfriend - but not me. Ha Ha! They are really good fun though and we really enjoyed their company - but just for a 2 week holiday!

Our first time in Turkey and we all loved it!! The staff at the hotel are all really friendly and work really hard and long hours.
The hotel is very clean with pretty gardens. The food is very good, especially on the day they bring out the Kebabs, yummy and served around the pool. We liked the milkshakes and the tea and cakes (all brought around on a trolley, which makes you very lazy!). Pool is very clean with free sun beds. BBQ night is good fun - but watch out when the belly dancer comes out - (go and hide unless you want to dance in front of every one!) There is also cocktail night (half price drinks) and bingo along with other entertainment in the evenings (all just OK). There is hairdresser and barbers (but we didn't see anybody use it).
The resort is not too busy, the beach is lovely but a bit hard on your feet. The hotel is at the top of the resort and you have to walk down through the shops. Again if you are a girl on your own you will get a lot of looks and comments made to you by the boys and men. All OK to start with but you get fed up after a while.
Even so, we had a great holiday and would come back to this hotel and Olu Deniz again.

Had a wonderful holiday at the Karbel. What a delight everybody is. Staff So very friendly and helpful. The hotel is kept very clean and the gardens are very pretty.
and also well kept. Rooms are small but ideal just for sleeping and showering. Food is very good with plenty of lovely freshly prepared foods, (for breakfast) cheese, ham, eggs, cereal, fruits juice. And plenty more. But no English breakfast for those who like this (unless you pay for it). The pool area and bar is very clean and tidy also. Can be busy at times. the pool bar staff keep you well entertained with their sense of humour! Especially Zeki.
There is an onsite photographer, Omer! Very charming and friendly young man....watch out girls! He will charm you with his flattering remarks (what a charmer) He takes very good photos though!
The resort is beautiful, surrounded by mountains. The beach is a bit pebbly though, but lovely in the evening with your drink in hand watching the sunset, sitting on beanbags.
Would definitely use this hotel again. Enjoy your holidays anyone who has already booked... we are sure you will!

My husband & I, and our family of 5 have just returned from the Karbel Hotel in Olu Deniz and had an absolutely fab time in the 7 days that we were there.
Our age range was from 65 to 12 years of age. Each one of us had no complaints during our stay there. The weather was very hot, the scenery was breath taking, and the walking along the beach in the evening was so relaxing and beautiful.
The one disappointment was that the Blue Lagoon was so busy that we weren’t able to have a day there. The hotel staff were very charming, polite and pleasant. The rooms were basic, but always cleaned by lovely ladies. Our beds were even decorated one day with flower petals. Just that little touch just adds to the holiday memories. Your hotel block is surrounded by lovely gardens and just yards from the 4 pools.
The Turkish breakfasts are basic but you can request an English style one if you wish, or you can go round the corner from the hotel and have a large selection of restaurants who will cater to your needs for a reasonable price. The Bella Gusto Italian Restaurant on the beach front, was so good that we were there 3 evenings. The portions are enormous - hence the reason we all put on weight. Captain Hook is bril., and so professional, with all the charm from the experienced staff. Cherry Chow wasn't bad, but the Chinese Restaurant down by the seafront was a bit expensive and not much time spent to with you.
The Chinese Restaurant down by the post office in Hisaranu, is one not to miss. Sitting upstairs on the roof top was so beautiful. Hisaranu has so much night life, so just take a dolmus bus there and enjoy yourself. You have to try the dolmus - it is an experience in itself! The Karbel Hotel issues you with a plastic card on your arrival and this also entitles you to 10% off is certain places. This was our first but not our last.

We stayed in Karbel Hotel at the end of May 2006 with half board basis. It is a beautiful hotel with a superb mountain scene.
Food was good and adequate. Friendly and helpful staff. My husband had a very nice hair cut by the hotel’s barber. Room size was good enough and the hotel provided a free cot for my baby.
Oludeniz is itself is very very beautiful.. We went for a boat trip which was good fun and did paragliding was very good. I recommend this hotel and the location Oludeniz to everyone.

From the comments that I have read this hotel sounds lovely. It seems to be relaxing and calm but can sometimes be a bit loud at times. The people sound great and from visiting Turkey before I know that from my own opinion, my mum and dad (aged 46 and 48) have visited before and said that they would go back at any time.
From looking at these pictures of the hotel it looks very homely, although I would have one concern the size of the actual rooms they look a bit on the small side.
When there I would love to visit the mud baths and the Turkish baths last but not least the blue lagoon.
This year I will be visiting Karbel Hotel and are looking forward too it, from the great comments that have been left. I hope I will enjoy it!
P.s I wouldn’t really know about what rating to give this hotel but to me it looks like it will be a 10 also looks like it would be one of the best holidays ever.

Location of hotel is excellent. Rooms re very small no storage in the bathroom at all. Balcony has two tiny chairs and you need to stand up when both of you are outside to open the door to go back inside. Air con is a necessity.
Maids do an excellent service. The hotel does not use cash at all it gives you a blank credit card that you use at hotel whether its at the bar, booking one of the evening entertainments, safety deposit boxes etc, but be careful as you don’t realise how quickly you are spending money pay it daily if you can. The pool bar staff are fantastic but are very in your face going for the sell, sell, sell all day every day. We were eating our breakfast one morning and one of the staff was trying to get us to buy tickets to the bbq evening not what you want at breakfast. The hotel will also offer you a "great deal" to upgrade to half board please don’t there are so many wonderful places to eat in the main resort.
Go to help bar at the sea front, ottomans in the main street, sultan pepper also in the main street in fact all we tried were very good and its nice to see a very small resort that does not have KFC, pizza hut or McDonalds in it. If you want a nice small friendly resort that’s easy to get around then Olu Deniz is for you, just be careful where you stay as the Karbel although very clean, very nice staff we as a couple aged 38 and 41 found it not to be a supposed 3* + hotel.

Myself and my family returned from the Karbel in June 2006. It was the best holiday we've been on to date and working in the travel agents we've been on a few.
The hotel was fantastic, everything spot on. The rooms are rather small but clean and tidy, maid service everyday.
The staff are great, and if you have young children they can't do enough for you.
The resort of Olu Deniz is heaven, the lagoon is the most breath taking place I have ever seen, especially "Suarah Beach".
The food in the hotel is great, but being on bed and breakfast we ate out quite a lot. We found a lovely place called "N" Joy, the food is really nice and really cheap. Later on the restaurant becomes a cocktail bar and its really nice to sit and watch the world go by. Will be returning very soon.

We had 14 days at the Karbel. No complaints at all. We were B&B and found that 14 days of the buffet breakfast was OK, with extras thrown in several times.
The rooms were kept immaculate and linen frequently changed. Air con and fridge were included.
Beaches were diverse, the main beach was stony and steep. Blue Lagoon was stony but more interesting. The best was Suara across the other side of the Lagoon. This was sandy and safe - a good bar and Restaurant. You could be picked up from the Hotel and delivered back - free by dolmus if you rang the Beach. We walked, it took 20 minutes.
Restaurants were all fairly good. We liked the Beach Restaurant, Olba and ATA Lagoon, all off the main street. The worst was Secret Garden.
Trips we enjoyed were Chill Out and Dalyan check out with Thomson’s. Rosie the Tour Guide was really great - She made the trips.
All the Staff were really helpful and all the Thomson Staff were really on the ball. A great place to go to.
