Me and my girlfriend (24 & 25) returned from Turkey two weeks ago. Had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone. The Karbel is a very good hotel, we stayed bed and breakfast. The Breakfasts are good consiting of bread, eggs, fruit, cheese and cereal. Three times a week you get an added special for free. This was cheese rolls, scamble eggs and chips or an omelette. The rooms are basic but a good size and have free air con. The cleaner was amazing, cleaning the rooms daliy and on several occassions we returned to fresh flowers. The hotel has two big pools both lovely and a good bar service offering a happy hour between 6.30 and 7.30pm where drinks are half price. The evening entertainment is hit and miss, the bbq night was good and they have a pool competition on a sunday (which i won hehe).
Olu deniz is a great place, the beach is loads of fun with quite wavey waves. It does get deep very quickly though. There are lots of great places to eat in Olu Deniz but the night life isn't that great, a few good bars but if you want a late night catch a domus to Hirasonu. We did the jeep safari and had a turkish bath, both a must whilst in turkey. The jeep safari lasted a whole day and is a great day out for the whole family.
Would definately good back to Olu Deniz and would stay at the Karbel Hotel again.

Me and my boyfriend both 21 went to Olu Deniz for 2 weeks and had a great holiday. The place is beautiful, people very friendly and lots to do. The weather was glorious for 2 weeks and very hot! The place itself is not to lively but has lots of nice bars and a club which was pretty good when we went on a saturday night, it also has many lovely restaurants.
The Karbel hotel was lovely, staff were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms were basic but good enough for what you needed them for, free air conditioning really helps too!! They were kept lovely and clean and linen was changed daily. We stayed Bed and breakfast, this was ok but had the same food every morning such as toast, boiled eggs, cheese, salads etc. You could pay extra for a full English which was quite expensive compared to what the main street charged. Food and snacks at the hotel were quite expensive but ok if you just got them a few times. The hotel provided good entertainment at night, the BBQ Night well worth going to and lots of fun!! The staff also get involved dancing etc and are lots of fun, they are always so happy and always have a smile of their faces. One thing I would recommend is paying your bar bill off every couple of days, as it does add up quickly!!
Me and my boyfriend both loved Olu Deniz we met so many people in the hotel as most are English that stay there, the local people are very friendly and we cant wait to go back nxt year.

Just back from olu Deniz we stayed at the Karbel hotel, it was fabulous !!! weather very hot but that was what we went for, the hotel was super, all the staff were more than helpful and were very friendly,
the food was superb the variety was good and the quality excellent.
If i had to complain about anything and it was not even a complaint, the bedrooms are small.but how long do you stay in your room when there is so much to see and do !!!!
The cleaners were all superb the room was always. immaculate and on several occassions they left beautiful flowers on the bed
Olu Deniz is breathtakingly beautiful just as it looks in the brochures if you can go go now !!!!!!

Travelled with husband and 11 year old son. Had a great time. Food excellent and plenty of it. Would recommend doing half board as the evening meal in the hotel was 27ytl each and we upgraded to half board which worked out at 5ytl each. Room basic but perfectly adequate and so clean. Would recommend you ask for two sheets if you have a double bed as one is just not large enough. Grateful for airconditioning in the room which we kept on at night (you can put it to night mode on the remote), but the fridge seemed to be struggling and didn't keep drinks cool (or lippy from melting). Staff friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
Maid service every day and even flowers on the bed (so romantic). Bath towels plump and fresh changed twice during the week.
Plenty of sunbeds around the pool
Pool bar pricey for food but ok if you eat a couple of times during the stay otherwise use main street.
You are given a card to use each time you order drinks or food. This can mount up quite quickly so would advise clearing it at Reception every couple of days or so.
Disapointed with the Blue Lagoon, was expecting something stunningly beautiful but disappointed. Stick to the beach -never seen turquoise clear sea this colour before.
Did a jeep safari - such value for money left at 8.15am and returned at 8.pm. Be prepared to get very wet and mudedy!. Returned to hotel exhausted but after a quick shower down for dinner. Wander down main street, it is where all the stores are including Tesko ! and Azda !. Drinks in hotel were expensive but better priced in main street. Main street takes you direct to the beach - beautiful.
Do the boat trip as well; it was the coolest time of the whole holiday. Do not book through the reps as they charge an arm and a leg - go to main steet where you can pick them up much cheaper, and would advise going on a smaller boat (45) as the larger ones (150) expect you to spend more on board. Take your own water and snacks as it is a long and hungry day after all that swimming and sunworshiping(!).
Ovarall holiday was brilliant - so relaxing. Wouldn't hesitate to go back again and Olu Deniz so beautiful.

With a premier class seating in the aeroplane we had a comfortable journey to and from oludeniz. The bar staff were very friendly and became like a family to us. The food it extremely nice and the themed nights were fabulous. We went there a year ago and the standards have no change. We booked horse riding quad biking and a boat trip with ali g and the rooms were fresh and air conditioned. The maids did a wonderful flower pattern with petals on our beds there was not one bad thing about the hotel and i would definatly go again.

The Karbel Hotel offers a fantastic value for money accommodation and holiday.I travelled with my husband and 11 year old son with first choice in August 2008.The hotel is in a brilliant location just by the pretty pedestrian road which runs down to the beach and is crammed full with shops and resturants. The rooms are fairly small but immaculate with a modern bathroom and decent shower with maid service everyday.
The poolside is brilliant with plenty of sunbeds and no reserving so you will always get a lounger whatever time you decide to get up.If you cannot see any loungers the pool staff will always help you and look around for you.Nothing is too much bother for the bar and pool staff, they are excellent with the children and very friendly, always remembering your name and having a chat with you.
The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed and friendly with plenty going on in the evenings and the children make many new friends, some of which have been coming back for the last five years.
If you choose this hotel you will have a great holiday, all the previous comments from other reviews on this hotel are true,we did not do any excursions as it was too hot but there are many available which sounded very good. Please visit the Buzz Bar on the seafront for a lovely meal and to watch the sunset and the paragliders flying overhead and go to the lagoon but stay on the sea side just where the lagoon starts as the water is clear and warm with no rocks or pebbles.
We had a great time and would go back again without hesitating.

i1ve just returned from a wonderful holiday with my familly and i've got nothing bad to say.The hotel is lovely, the location was perfect for us , 5 mins to the shops and restaurants , 7 mins to the beach . We found a beautiful beach called sugar beach on the back of the lagoon ,well worth a visit and at reception they'll phone up for you and the free mini bus will collect you and bring you back, its 5 mins away. They even sell english tea !!!! the resort is small but beautiful , the hotel is very good, breakfast is lovely, and we'll definately be going back! We did however have a delay of 16 hours on the way home but first choice was great , gave us a hotel for the day, breakfast ,and a meal when we got back to the airport. We couldn't of asked for anything else ! There was a lot of shouting and balling from other passengers but the first choice staff handled it very well i'd of left them there !!!! see you next year

Having holidayed in Florida for the last few years, we (my sister, brother-in-law, nephew 16yrs, myself and son 19 yrs) decided it was time for a change. Having read all the reviews, we decided to try Turkey and chose the Karbel.
Upon arrival, the boys were shown to block 5 - twin bedded room -small but fine. We were shown to block 4. We were bitterly disappointed as our rooms were below ground, had small shuttered windows, which could not be reached and smelt of damp. You had no idea what the weather was like outside - Not what we had paid for! We immediately complained and were advised that we could move rooms the following day.
I moved to block 3 - room large, bright with small balcony. My sister + brother-in-law were in block 9 - a huge improvement on the Dungeons!!!!!
This hotel is superb - fabulous swimming pools, ideal location and wonderfully friendly staff - Mustafa, Sade, Bilal, Memhet and Ismail to name but a few.
The maid service is excellent .
Olu Deniz is a beautiful resort, with its backdrop of mountains. The sea front is less than a 10 minute walk away. The sea is amazing - turquiose blue. The beach is very pebbly so water shoes are a must. The lagoon is more shingly and well worth the 3 lire per person is costs to enter.
You must eat at Sultan Pepper - the food is delicious and the staff are brillaint - especially Gem and Murat aka Jason Grimshaw from Coronation Street!
Rose Garden Restaurant is also very good, with the staff, and customers if they wish, entertaining by dancing on the bar.
Quad bike safari is a must do - we booked with Sky Sports - and if you're brave enough, paragliding is fun.
Also try you hand at haggling at Hisoranu and Feythie markets - daunting at first but brilliant if you want a bargain.
We had a fantastic time at Olu Deniz and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Karbel. We would most definitely go back!

I went on holiday to Olu Deniz with my boyfriend and have had a great time. The resort of Olu Deniz is so beautiful. There is lots to do for everyone of all ages. I would definatly recommend this holiday to couples and families. There were hardly any single sex groups, which meant there was no hassle at all. We saw two police men over there for the whole 2 weeks of our stay and one of them was in Hissaronu. The Karbel hotel is not the best hotel I've ever stayed in. My boyfriend and I suffured from a chest and ear infection which was caused by the pool. The pool is NOT CLEAN enough. I would suggest to go to the beach instead. The blue lagoon itself has stagnent water in it, but it is sandy. It is worth a visit to say you have been but we didn't go back because we smelt of sewers caused by the water. Paragliding is fun, sky sports were the best opperator to go with, very safe! Feythie market on tuesday is fun as is Hissaronu market on a monday. Jeep safari with sky sports is fun too, it was great to spend a good 3 hours on the quad bikes and you ride down this road where there are spectacular views of a secret beach! We shall definatly visit Olu Deniz again as we want to go on alot of the other trips we didn't try! I wouldn't stay at or recommend the Karbel to anyone, because having a painful ear infection meant my boyfriend couldn't swim as much as he liked. It restricted us going white water rafting, which we were so looking forward to. Hopefully if you choose to stay at the Karbel the pool will be cleaner for you. We heard of 2 other people, one of which was a young child getting ear infections from the pool, as well as someone getting an eye infection. These are just the people we know about so there may be more ill people. The unclean pool is a definate negative aspect of the hotel and for this reason we won't be visiting here again. The hotel i rate a 6/10 and the resort a 11/10!! Overall it was a fun and relaxing holiday.

We arrived here late and were greeted by friendly staff who explained all we needed to know & gave us our keys etc. Mustafa the porter showed us to our room, block 9 of the big complex.
The room wasnt overly big but was spotlessley clean and fresh. Everything we needed and it was very acceptable. Extra bedding if needed, hairdryer and a mini fridge and tea & coffee making facilities.
On our first day we explored, the complex was very big with around 10 blocks all in lovely gardens, really well kept and full of flowers. There were 2 average size pools, both with clean toilets and a bar serving food & drink all day.
There were always sunbeds & umbrellas for everyone, and we went in peak season.
They give you a card which they ask you to pay all your food & drinks on but you can pay it off at anytime at reception.
The only downside i can think of is that the safe's all are in reception but it didnt bother us too much.
The hotel is along quite a main road but not noisey or busy and literally the shops bars and restaurants are all around the corner. There is a long strip leading down to the beach & lagoon which is lined with shops, bars and restaurants. Its all chilled out and very nice, the lagoon is a must although some people begrudge paying for sunbeds etc.
There are so many places to choose to eat, our favorite would be buzz bar, which also does lovely cocktails. Other recommendations would be ottomans and bar help.
We had a amazing 10days in Olu Deniz, and would definatly go back and recommend to our friends and family!! Its a family orientated chilled resort!
