This is the eighth time we have stayed at this hotel, the fourth time this year but it will be the last. It is hard to believe that a hotel can go from being possibly the best 3 star in Fuengirola to one of the worst hotels not even worthy of 2 stars in 5 months. After our... more

As you can see from the title, this was our 3rd stay at gardenia park and we can't seem to stop going back. the rooms are very very nice. Television has BBC 1, CBBC ( from 6 am to 6 pm), BBC 3 ( 6 pm till late), and ITV 1. Not that we were sad to stay in every night but its... more

Really enjoyed this holiday. The weather was fab. The hotel was ok, very clean. Food was very nice & fresh. We were on an all inclusive holiday, but when you went to the bar for drinks you were only allowed 2 drinks per person, which was annoying as there was four people in... more

Wow! Amazing! What a treat!! Are not words to be used. After booking a late deal to spain we did not expect to get to be a part of filming for Cocoon 3... The average age at the hotel was closer to 70... ideal for a couple in their 30's. The food was average, "snacks" were... more

Not quite as expected for myself and other half. the hotel was clean, food available at all times and variety on offer was okay, however, for a vegetarian it was chips, salad or chips and salad. The hotel catered mainly for the spanish and was awash with people most... more

I read the reviews on here before going and, I have to say, it set me up for a fall. The swimming pool is too small for the waterpolo they claim is played and is only open between 10.00am and 6.00pm meaning it is not open at the better part of the day when the sun is not so... more

Gardenia Park and Sunset Holidays are terrible
we were broken into on the second night and had personal items stolen as well as my bank card. We should of known as the rep could do nothing better than to run this hotel down from the airport until we arrived. (good start) she is still employed by the way and still advising tourist how bad the hotel is. Hotel was rude when we were broken into and we had the most miserable holiday ever.
Average Hotel, clean rooms
Spent 8 nights at this hotel all inclusive sept 2005. The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels if you need them, no complaints there as the rooms are perfectly adequate. We hired a fan as it was very hot in the evening well worth it. You do seem to wait ages for a lift though. Lovely gardens to sun bathe in (the smaller garden on the way to the beach) very peaceful. The drinks no problem have as much as you like, as you expect from an all inclusive. The food was awful, when i go abroad i like to try different food however here there was not much different, i mean it was edible but no flavour. If you like veal then you are in for a treat as you have it every day, or it certainly seems that way. We ended up eating out in the evening as did a lot of other people at the hotel, there are some lovely places to eat, try Cheers restaurant about a 10 minute walk away the food is excellent and good value. Another moan I had was the waiters were very slow in clearing peoples dirty plates away, the tables would be set for the first people in the restaurant but then if you came in next you had to get your cutlery glasses serviettes everything, at previous AI I have stopped in this would have been done for you. I would not stay at this hotel again on an all inclusive basis because of the food, and having been all inclusive before, the food here was bad. If you could have room only or B&B then i would stay here again. It did not spoil the holiday as the weather was brilliant and Fuengirola is a nice place.
As good as you will get for the money
Hi just returned after one week at the Gardenia Park. I could find little to fault this hotel, the food was good the entertainment was good more drink than you could swallow and everthing served with a smile. Granted the hotel is a bit out from the centre of Fuengirola but the bus is cheap (90cents) and a taxi is approx 6 euros, it also a lovely walk along the promenade. Out of many guests I spoke to about two had complaints but of course you cannot please everybody (you wonder what palace they live in at home ha ha ). Bill
good all inclusive hotel
We stayed in this hotel for one week which was enough due to the fact that there was no air con in the bedrooms or the dinning room.In cooler months it would be the perfect place to stay.Just on the outside of the resort right next to the beach what more could you want.(air conditioning) The hotel was clean. The staff where excellent. The food was good for all inclusive.Couldnt fault the hotel except in was like being in an oven.We escaped to the lovely garden away from the pool area.If you have kids and want a cheap family holiday this is for you.
The best!!

Worst hotel we ever stayed in!!!!
My husband (from england) and I stayed in the Gardenia Park over Easter break in 2004. Now that we have started using TripAdvisor for our holidays we felt it was our duty to share our feedback with potential holiday makers considering the Gardeina Park. Let's start with: 1) This hotel caters to families, and primarily 'pensioners'. Single, couples, honeymooners, should NOT go. The pensioners swarm the cafeteria (don't ever for one minute think it is a restaurant; it's all do it yourself) and the children (nothing against them) dominate the outdoor pool area and indoor pool area and the parents are absentee. 2) Quality of food: We stayed as half board for a week. We ate out every night because the dinner food was atrocious and not even worthy to be fed to my cats! Interpret this as exaggeration or not; but we have stayed in expensive resorts and mid value resorts and were never ever given this poor quality of food. For example, the eggs are not real but 'powdered substitute' eggs, there is no fresh coffee just dispensed from a machine, the food is wide is open for all to infest with their germs (sneezing etc). My husband became severly ill after eating half cooked chicken from the cafeteria. 3) Quality of Room: Ants, ants and more ants and we were on the 10th floor. No TV, no tea maker, and had to pay for the use of the safe. No air conditioning as well. Twin beds that are on wheels that makes it impossible for couples. 4) Elevator: 99% of time we used stairs because elevators dominated by rude old spanish people. 5) Location: Not centrally located. There are some shops down the road on the backside of the hotel. 6) Staff: Aloof and indifferent. When my husband and I both became sick (for different reasons) made no attempt to help us seek medical assistance while they knew we were tourists from abroad and in need of translation, etc. The house doctor they advertise is NEVER there. Let's summarize: This hotel IS for people not concerned with quality and more concerned with cost. For travelers that like the finer life when on holidays such as room service, TV, an actual restaurant and decent food, concierge and friendly staff, then go elsewhere. This is a low class budget dive. Now on to your burning questions: why did we stay??? My sister in law booked this trip for us and unfortunately did not research properly. The hotel was prepaid and we were therefore, stuck with it. Lesson learned! Truly the most forgetabble experience and most uncomfortable, we are ASTOUNDED it is #3 out of the all the hotels reviewed in Fuengirola. Stay here at your peril!!! Abby and Darren NYC
Better than we expected
Have just returned from a week in the Gardenia Park. Although a bit out of the centre of Fuengirola, a taxi only cost 5/6 Euros and there were some bars/shops/etc nearby. Rooms were basic but clean and the food was much better than I have had in other more expensive hotels. Salads were excellent. Staff were very pleasant and reception staff very helpful. Only drawback Victoria Lounge got extremely busy at night and limited seating. Would certainly go back. Very good value for money. Ate in several different restaurants in centre - good fixed price menus at approx 9.5 Euros.
great family hotel, great place to stay
my family and i stayed at gardenia park in may this year we thought it was great . it was a great family hotel there was good food, clean rooms/hotel pool was cleaned every morning. entertainment was good magician, flemenco dancers +much more. lots of tourist shops and bars along the water front near the back of the hotel, there is a bus stop outside and across from the hotel to take you in to town to the market or to the FANTASTIC zoo or even the water park (which is quite expensive you have to pay to use sun loungers, changing rooms, lockers most things).tivoli world (a 10min train journey)was great lots to do good value 10 euros for all day band + 4.50 euros to get in every thing was fantastic loads of rides, we went in to town on the friday night london pub is packed every night it was good, savoy was ok as was the western american pub down stairs next to it, just up from here next to burger king is a indoor market place with all local suveniers, leather goods, tshirts, towels, ornamental weapons & jewelers
Brilliant Holiday
My family and i have just come back from a two week holiday in the Gardenia Park. The whole holiday was fantastic. The hotel was spottless and the food was great. It could do with a bit of refurbishment, but Globales has bought it over, so it might get it. The zoo in Fuengarola was great, the sealife centre in Benalmadina was great, the whole area was great, but the best was the staff and the people we met there. All the staff were so nice, especially the entertainment staff. Fido, Mara and Enrique were first class. The show's we had were great, but the show's done by Fido ,Mara and Enrique were out of this world. One of the best holiday's we've had. Thank you.
hotel fab
