Food- excellent
cleaniness - excellent
staff - bar staff seemed alittle crabit at times, must have been very boring standing giving away free drink every 3 seconds. They never stopped.
Front desk- Only one lady at desk spoke good english and was very helpfull with sorting out trips and bus timetables etc. The men at desk hadn't a clue what was happening in there own town. They didnt know what time buses or things like that were.
Room. It was sold to us as a TRIPLE ROOM. i spoke to them at hotle and they assured me before booking that it was NOT a double room. It was infact a double room with an extra bed squeezed into the room. NOT alot of room if 3 people sharing. I complained and they gave us a family room which sleeps 4 and has 2 rooms.
Fuengirola itself was very nice. i thought it had some good shops and eveyone seemed nice.
Beach- Bloody water is cold, lol. thought it might heat up as the day went on, but it didnt. like swimming in northsea, lol. The beach itself has alot of stones for about 3 feet as you walk into the sea. you will need shoes or something.
Weather - in the 90's most of our week, great. But u have to be careful not to get BURNT.

This was our first all inclusive holiday and we were very pleased with the whole thing. The food was good, however it got a little repetatve after 2 weeks. The hotel was very clean and the room was cleaned every day and towels were changed when you needed them to be. Lovely view from the room of the beaches and bay,we were overlooking the pool and did not find it too noisy. The hotel staff were always friendley and efficient and worked very hard all day. Good choice of drinks at the bars. Entertainment in the evening was varied and appealed to all ages, and catered for all nationalities with the entertainment team on the go all the time. Hotel was situated in a good location at one end of the resort with a nice 45 minutes strole on the sea front to the heart of the town. The bus stops were right outside the hotel and only cost 90 cents to the centre. The train station was a short walk away and well worth a trip to the nearby resorts up the coast and was very cheap (1.70 euro return to Torremolinos). Would recommend the hotel to my best friends and would go back anytime.

This hotel is spotlessly clean, in fact the only reason I'm not givivng it 10 out of 10 is because of its location. There isnt much around. Even the heart of Fuengirola isnt that impressive. Nor is the market. Once you have seen one you have seen them all. But back to the hotel. The reception staff were pretty helpful and pretty friendly, apart from the odd one. The restaraunt staff were just ok. As were the bar staff. Not sure if that was down to the fact that they knew they were not goin to get a tip as we were all inclusive and not paying for the drink. But the entertainment satff made up for these negatives. We had 4 young children with us. A 1 year old, a 2 year old, a 3 year old and a 7 year old. My 7 year old son loved joining in with the evening kids club and the day time entertainment. The staff were great with the kids and my 7 year old even cried when we were going home, which was a first. They had activities for all ages every day. We had a 16 year old boy with us who was involved with all the activities. As was my very fi 71 year old father (who is that fit he even had a few goes of the kamikaze, vertical drop water slide at the water park in Mijas.), my 31 year husband and my 36 year old brother.
The food did get a bit boring at times, but it was on par with other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in. I think they always do get a bit boring.
The only thing we regret about this holiday is that we didnt book for 2 weeks instead of 1.

May 2008, Mr Mick Aherne

Good food and clean spacious rooms at this hotel.
staff pleasant and pool cleaned and supervised every day
On the downsid there is no bidet or hairdrier and no fridge
in the room. Also it is rather noisy on the pool side but no sun on the garden section. Not in April anyway. Bus stops outside the door and the back gate opens onto the beach. Free wine at dinner but we opted for a nice Rioja @3 euro a bottle. All in all a pretty good holiday but I would`nt like to be there in the high season.

The hotel was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was fresh and there was something for everyone. Everywhere was clean and the reception staff were helpful and very polite. My only issue was with the parking, there are only about 15 parking spaces but on street parking is available nearby Oh, that and the weather but I can't blame the hotel for that!

we booked this holiday as a four day...

Jan 2008, Mr A Lawson

we booked this holiday as a four day getaway from the kids! we'd been before thru a package deal so as we knew the area we thought we'd do our first 'book direct' holiday. we booked hotel direct thru their website and flights thru easyjet. the hotel itself was clean and tidy - all rooms seemed to be getting a re-vamp since the last time we were there, and couldn't fault the daily maid service. the food was plentiful and being all inclusive we never went hungry, and of course the beer was also free flowing along with local produced spirits. the pool area was kept clean thru the day and more than enough sunbeds to go around - although the sun didn't get round the pool until lunchtime! the only downside to this holiday was the fact drinking outside round the pool was not allowed at night time - which is what a lot of people enjoy doing on their hols!! the entertainment was ok, but always inside in the bar, which was airconditioned and also a smoke free zone. all in all a good few days away, and wouldn't hesitate to do it all again.

Hotel Gardenia Park was perfect for...

Jan 2008, tallystours

Hotel Gardenia Park was perfect for family holidays because it was in a quiet area of the resort!
We went in March & the weather was great but the hotel wasn’t fully open but it was still spot on.
I would like to go back again in high season to have a look around the resort when its fully operational.
Fuengirola is a fair distance from the airport so make sure of transfers before you go.

My family and I have just returned...

Oct 2007, Miss E Croft

My family and I have just returned from a week's holiday at the Gardenia Park and were very impressed. We booked it a few weeks before we flew out, and was treating it just as a cheap break before Xmas, and weren't really expecting too much.
When we arrived and was told we were on the top floor, we weren't too impressed - that was until we got up to our room and saw our breathtaking view. We had a lovely sea view and could see the whole coastline of the Costa del Sol; it was lovely - so being on the top floor was more of an advantage.
The hotel was absolutely spotless, probably the cleanest hotel we've ever stayed in. Our towels and bedding were changed everyday, and our rooms were also cleaned everyday.
The food wasn't too bad - you wouldn't starve there! The only problem with it was that it wasn't very hot; you'd have to try and time it right so you just caught the chef bringing out fresh stuff to get hot food.
The entertainment at night wasn't too bad - the best night is when the hotel's entertainment team does their own act - that is very good otherwise the entertainment is average. The week we were out there clashed with the Spanish bank holiday, and we were swarmed out with Spanish. We found them to be quite rude and arrogant, and would expect you to give up you're seat for them or get out of the lift to make room for them- this didn't go down too well with the English and we weren't having any of it.
Outside of the hotel are a few bars and shops, but the best place to go we were told is into Fuengirola town to their big shopping centre which is meant to be really good.
Overall, a good 3* hotel, which is lovely and clean. Would go back there again for another holiday.

Have just returned from the Gardenia...

Oct 2007, Mrs C Brooks

Have just returned from the Gardenia Park and what a wonderful time we had, we have stayed in some lovely hotels before but this one was the best by a long shot and would return tomorrow if we could.
We didn`t however enjoy Fuengirola and were actually very pleased that we were staying in Torreblanca as we found it a lot cleaner and there was no hassle from any time share touts or Spanish ladies trying to pick your pockets whilst trying to sell you carnations! We also found that the amount of dog poo on the promenade was unacceptable and it certainly put us off of walking along it on many an occasion.
We booked with Direct Holidays for a total of £732 for 2 weeks AI for 2 people which we thought was a bargain, for that we weren`t expecting a lot, but the service from them was second to none and the rep in the hotel was very professional and approachable.
And as for the hotel it took our breath away, it was so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor and it stayed that way for the whole time we were there, it didn`t matter if it was 7pm or 7am there always seemed to be someone cleaning something!
We were allocated a room on the 7th floor which was a lovely spacious room with a great sea view mind you they all have sea views, it was well decorated and the maids were in every day to change towels linen etc, we were very grateful for the air con as we were lucky to have the most perfect weather for the whole time.
We found the pool area very attractive and could see that there were more than enough sunloungers and chairs to cater for everyone, if we wanted a change of scenery we could go and sit in one of the two gardens which are well maintained and established with palm trees and flowers, also just outside the back of the hotel was the beach so I guess there is something for everyone here.
The animation team were super entertaining the kids and adults morning till night which was things like archery and darts during the day and then they would do the bingo and kiddies disco in the evening, the lounge could have been a bit bigger to cater for everyone but if you went early enough you were always guaranteed a seat, there were also two balconies coming off of the lounge where you could sit or have a smoke.
We personally never found the lifts to be a problem as we were able to walk up and down the stairs but I could imagine if you were any higher or disabled it could become a problem but they always came eventually so what’s a little wait whilst you’re on your hols.
I think we were actually grateful to be on the 7th floor because we absolutely loved the food and for all that we ate if it wasn`t for those I`m sure we would have put on a stone, the variety and choice was amazing and we always found it hot enough for us.
Breakfast times seemed to be busy especially around the 9.30 time but never did we not find a table, the staff were very efficient in clearing tables and getting them ready for the next person and they were always very polite and friendly, at lunchtime and evening meal time they had a wine barrel to which you could help yourself to red or white wine which we thought was a lovely idea.
On to the drinks which were available from 10am till 12 not once were we ever in a queue for more than 3 mins max and that included in the lounge at night, once the window opened at 10am by the pool bar it never shut until 9pm at night and it was always fully staffed, we couldn`t believe that you could actually get 4 drinks in one go, as we have always only been able to have 2 and then they don`t want to serve you very quickly but certainly not here.
Yes the Spanish did descend upon the hotel at the weekends but we found nothing wrong with that at all, they were just like us wanting to have a good time, we never saw any pushing or shoving at mealtimes and the certainly knew how to queue for drinks just like us so we never had a problem at all.
We were certainly very sorry to leave on the last day and will definitely be searching Direct Holidays website for another Gardenia Park holiday for the same time next year!!
