My husband and I stayed here for 1 week on 20/06/09 all inclusive. Room with a lovely sea view, cleaned to a very high standard, air conditioning which was much needed and a bonus a night!, towels and bedding changed every day if required, beds lovely and comfortable, choice of food was excellent at all times, drinks great as all inclusive, restaurant always clean and tidy, staff worked very hard and plesent, beach just accross the road (beautiful) bus stop opposite hotel 1 euro each way to town which took 10 mins. Great market On Tuesday, get there early as it gets very hot and busy. So impressed we are going back next year for 2 weeks!!

My wife and I have just returned from a 2week holiday at gardenia park. We were on an all inclusive basis and found the food to be very good. The beer was ok, the spirits were the cheap variety, and the mixers were abysmal. We found all areas of the hotel to be probably the cleanest we have ever experienced. Full marks to the cleaning staff.
The swimming pool is far too small for the size of the hotel, as is the area around the pool. Towels started to be put on sunbeds at about 7.15am and by mid morning the whole area was taken over by families with kids. Anyone who sat anywhere near the pool was in danger of being soaked by kids with high powered water guns, while the parents sat there oblivious to thier kids actions, and attempted to drink the bar dry. Because of its size, pool rules state that there are to be NO inflateables and NO ball games, these rules were not upheld. If you do not want to be over run by kids --- STAY AWAY
- Advice: It has a lovely flat promenade.

Spent a week here with a friend - all we wanted to do was chill for a week. Mainly families here, with quite a lot of kids, so not too peaceful around the pool. Although there were plenty of sun loungers I saw someone putting towels down at 6.30 am one morning - but that was by the pool. There are plenty in the gardens round the back of the hotel which appeared to be more peaceful. To be honest we went across the road to the beach everyday - 2 loungers and a parasol were 7 euros for all day and they were extremely comfortable!! Only the second time I've went all inclusive as I am a VERY fussy eater, but even I found something to eat every evening. Cooked or continental breakfast every morning, the sausages and scrambled eggs were good, but the toaster took AGES!!. At night there was usually at least one fish, one chicken and a meat dish, along with chips plus another type of potatoes, rice or pasta, plus a couple of veggie options, plus lots of choice of salad and veg, and cold meat and cheese. Food was always hot, and they appeared to replenish all the time, so always seemed fresh as well. Sweets were a bit hit and miss - but always ice cream and jelly!!! Only went out twice for breakfast (wanted some black pudding!!!), as food really was okay. Drinks usual standard fare - vodkas were certainly large enough - I had to get one alcoholic and one soft drink to mix!! Entertainment bit cheesy but a good laugh. We tended to sit out on one of the balconys as we both smoked, but you could hear everything going on. Beds were extremely comfartable - I slept like a log the whole week, rooms , all with dea view, and cleaned every day and towels changed daily as well if you wanted. Air conditioning was a godsend at night, and when getting ready to go out in the evening. Quite a hike to the centre of the town, so we took a taxi, although believe the bus also stopped just outside hotel - 7 euros in a taxi each way. Shops in centre usual holiday tat, but some nice leather shops, and some cracking shoe shops if you went up off the promenade. Spent one evening in The London Pub, great for people watching as I think EVERYONE must walk by there in the evening!! Drink there not too cheap, but it was the only night we left the hotel, so not too bad - 3.5 euros for a Budweiser and 4.5 for a WKD.
All in all got what we wanted from the break and would prob go back, maybe no more than a week, and preferably when schools still in so not quite as many kids - but thats probably cos I dont have any!!
For what we paid really was value for money.

Hotel Review Gardenia Park
Board All Inclusive
Flight by Easyjet.com, Taxi’s to&from airport by Shuttle Direct, accommodation by Hotels4u.com, sub contractor Travelrepublic.com,
Just back from Hotel Gardenia Park 21/5/-28/5 2009 my wife & myself aged both 70 my daughter & partner aged 46 and56.
(1)Flight &Taxi’s&Accommodation provider no problems at all, in fact all first class.(2)The first thing I would say about Hotel Gardenia Park that it’s in the outskirts of Fuengirola in the district of Torreblanco which is about 2-3 miles from the centre of the town and can be easily reached by bus 1€ and train 1€.25.The bus stop is just across the road from the front of the hotel but the train station is about 300-400 yards away with step’s and quite a steep hill to negotiate and would be quite hard for people with walking difficulties. The rooms are typically 3 star Spanish hotel type with a good bathroom and a balcony, all with sea views. The swimming pool looked quite small for the size of the hotel but that was made up for by the size of the gardens with plenty of sun beds. There is an exit from the gardens that takes you right on to the beach and promenade. The food was in my and my party opinion very good with a good English and continental breakfast and lunch and dinner with a decant choice at both.. The snacks were mainly hot dogs & burgers &chips & toasties and the likes For people who have an early return flight home like us the restaurant opens at 0600 with a continental breakfast which was a big plus . The drinks soft and alcoholic were all very good. The Hotel entertainment was the usual mini disco and other stuff which was in truth not very good but that never bothered us as we don’t expect that much .This is a family hotel so if children bother you go else where .When I was there the vast majority of the hotel clientele where British or Irish .The staff reception/bar/and cleaning were all very good and pleasant . I conducted a small questionnaire of my party on all aspects of the hotel ,rooms, cleanliness service, , food, drink, pool, garden, and my party came to the score of 8.5 out of 10 To sum up this is good value all inclusive hotel in a nice quite location in a good Spanish resort.

I made a booking at this hotel after reading other people’s views and I have to say I was not disappointed in the Gardenia Park at all. The on arrival the reception staff were very helpful and we were in our rooms after 10 minutes. The room itself was basic but very clean and the towels and bedding changed every day, in fact the whole hotel was clean as the cleaners are very thorough, in fact I found the staff friendly considering how hard they work, especially giving drinks out every 2 mins it be boring. The food was good and there is something for everyone, a good choice each day, also a good selection of drinks are included (if only local) including cocktails and wine in the all inclusive package. The pool area is its only downfall to me, a little noisy at times when the activities start and the pool is on the small side for the size of hotel. I found the gardens more relaxing and quiet and give a good view of the beach. The night time entertainment was fair and the animation team do a good job considering they are amateur. Bingo is on every night if that is your kind of thing and up to 300 euros can be won. The hotel has a lot of Spanish guests who tend to be rude and loud and have no control over their children.
The hotel itself is on the outskirts of the resort in an area called Torreblanca and is a good half to an hour walk to the centre from the hotel. If you wish to go by bus the stop is just outside the hotel which will take you into town for 1 euro. The train station is a short walk away and you can visit Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Malaga for a few euros. As for trips there is a good travel agent about ½ mile right from the back of the hotel and their prices are good and their tour guides are excellent. All in all a good value hotel.

Overall a very good holiday. Rooms were clean and made up every day, Just had small problem with ants on surfaces. (floor 2) 30 min drive from airport. Reception staff were friendly and we were in our room within 5 mins of arriving. Food was o.k, better some days than others. Snacks during the day consisted of hotdogs, burgers or toasties.
Bar staff were run ragged but did there best to make sure people were served in a fair time. Entertainment was o.k and the animation team had a great sense of humour which made up for amateur acts on stage. Bingo every night was good fun with the chance to win up to 300 Euros.
Hotel and pool area were kept very clean and the gardens were also well kept. 1 minute walk to beach which is very clean and un-crowded. Hotel pool quite small but didn't seem to be an issue. sunbeds were plentiful but didn't stop people putting towells down at 5.30a.m. I went with my wife and 8yr old son and a good time was had by all. However I would not recommend this area for Teenagers after good nightlife,

Food- excellent
cleaniness - excellent
staff - bar staff seemed alittle crabit at times, must have been very boring standing giving away free drink every 3 seconds. They never stopped.
Front desk- Only one lady at desk spoke good english and was very helpfull with sorting out trips and bus timetables etc. The men at desk hadn't a clue what was happening in there own town. They didnt know what time buses or things like that were.
Room. It was sold to us as a TRIPLE ROOM. i spoke to them at hotle and they assured me before booking that it was NOT a double room. It was infact a double room with an extra bed squeezed into the room. NOT alot of room if 3 people sharing. I complained and they gave us a family room which sleeps 4 and has 2 rooms.
Fuengirola itself was very nice. i thought it had some good shops and eveyone seemed nice.
Beach- Bloody water is cold, lol. thought it might heat up as the day went on, but it didnt. like swimming in northsea, lol. The beach itself has alot of stones for about 3 feet as you walk into the sea. you will need shoes or something.
Weather - in the 90's most of our week, great. But u have to be careful not to get BURNT.

My girlfriend and I have just returned after a 7 night stay. The waves at the beach look like great fun but we quickly got into trouble and almost lost our lives when the waves, rather than pushing us back into shore, pulled us further and further out. We are both slim and reasonably fit gym members but could not find the strenght to swim against the power of the waves. Luckily for us people on the beach heard our SCREAMS for help and alerted the lifeguard, who, with help for holiday makers on the beach, managed to save our lives.
Please, please, please be careful. RED FLAG MEANS WATERS ARE DANGEROUS. The flags are situated at the back of the beach near the road and NOT along the waterfront.
The entertainment at the hotel was very poor, unless you like playing bingo. We are both 40 and felt far too young to be staying at this hotel - it was almost like staying in a care-home. You need to get a taxi or a bus or take a 30 minute walk to get to anything more lively.
The gardens are beautiful and the beach is two minutes walk. Food was good but overall to quiet for us. I would recommend this hotel to my parents but not to anybody younger.
