Ambos Mundos Hotel

very central location .rooms clean and tidy.we had a front room with a great view of the street.we used the restaurant on two occasions for two evening meals .i have to say we were plesently suprised both in quality of food supplied and cost..the is a lively bar attached to hotel with lots of dancing etc.

Booked this hotel as part of a 2 centre holiday in the Caribbean, After reading the reviews, and arriving with mixed thoughts I was more than impressed. The room fair to say was small and lacked a window but was comfortable and clean. Tha maid service was excellent and efficient. Hotel Ambos Mundos has a great location - Old Havana at your door step. The buffet breakfast was generally good, especially as one was able to watch the sunrise over Havana and hear the city come alive. Watching street vendors at night time from the balcony is something that I will always remember. The Hotel staff though were not ideal - Cuba underwent daylight savings when we were there and the Hotel failed to inform guest of this time change, thus leaving many stranded as tours were missed as well as flights! Despite all the reviews we had read this hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful and the triple family room more than adequate - All round a good stay (especially by cuban standards) Breakfast was very good, especially the fresh mangos.

We arranged fror a three night stay at the Ambos Mundos hotel for that special "Old Havana" experience. We wanted an upscale, well-located hotel, with a stellar reputation, to complete a two-week stay in Cuba. What a dissappointment! The Ambos Mundos has a great location in old Havana. We stayed three nights and liked the hotel very much. The atmosphere were good and friendly and our room were nice and clean. The breakfast buffet was the best we had on our 14 days round trip of Cuba. The only negative I can think of was that our bathtub was leaking so that every time we had a shower there were water in the entire bathroom floor. I would definetly stay in this hotel again if I go back.

I've just returned from 3 weeks in Cuba, which included 3 nights at Hotel Ambos Mundos. Whilst the location of the hotel is handy, that is about all it has to offer. If you are considering staying here, I strongly suggest you shop around. It simply didn't offer a value for money and left us feeling quite ripped off. Ambos Mundos has been one of the most romantic hotels I have ever had. It's true we hadn't a few problems in our first night, 'cause we had in a hot bedroom without balcony and my boyfriend is asmatic but I spoke with the reception people and the day after they change our room to another bigger with balcony and besides they invited us to a dinner for the inconveniences. We were bumped from the lovely Hotel Telegrafo to the Ambos Mundos on our first night in Havana. Both hotels are in the state run Habanguex chain and purport to be the same class but that's the only similarity. We were surprised that the charming bell hop made such a fuss about our room having a real window until we discovered that some rooms don't! I stayed at the Ambos Mundos way back in 1999, and while the rooftoop restaurant leaves something to be desired cuisine-wise, there were many wonderful qualities to this hotel.
