Comments:  We have recently come back from this hotel and felt the need to add our review for others to see as I think it's getting an undeserved bad rap.

ROOM:

We had a spotlessly clean room throughout our stay. We did not need to tip the maid to get this excellent service. (In fact we didn't see her for the first four days, so couldn't tip her in person anyway). The towels were changed daily, the linen every other day, the bathroom and living area were cleaned thoroughly each day as far as we could see. What more do you need on holiday? I read a review where the person was complaining because their maid hadn't made their towels decorative so they stopped tipping her! How petty is that?? These people work extremely hard for MUCH longer daily hours than any of us would for very little reward. Surely a little bit of acknowledgement of that wouldn't have gone amiss?

Our fridge was stocked up daily with bottled water and soft drinks and if we ran out and asked for more it was quickly brought to us in our room without any fuss from the hotel staff.

FOOD:

Again I've read on various holiday review sites that you have to wait in long queues in order to get a booking in one of the speciality restaurants at this hotel. I say it again here as I have on other reviews I have posted elsewhere: THIS IS NOT TRUE. For the 14 nights we were there, we ate in one of the speciality restaurants on 12 occasions. We chose to go to the buffet on the other two nights, not because we couldn't get a reservation but simply because we fancied a change.

The process for these restaurants is very simple: All you have to do is go to the reception at some time during the day (NO queuing required), ask reception what is available and then you make your booking. Obviously the earlier in the day to see reception, the more likely you are to get the exact time you want and the restaurant you want to eat in! It's not the booking system that's at fault if people choose to leave it late to book where they want to eat and then the restaurant is fully booked for the time they want!

Getting on to the actual food served at these restaurants.... it was exquisite - especially the Italian and Japanese, although the French was also good. The buffet when we tried it was also really good - especially the desserts....

During the day, the barbecue food was also good for snacks.

POOL:

The pool was lovely, but the only problem there was that the number of sunbeds far outweighed the amount parasols. This was slightly off-putting especially if you don't actually want to toast yourself to a crisp for the whole day! We did stay round the pool for the first two or three days and use the swim-up bar, but in the end we opted for the beach because it not only had loads of parasols, but also had a lovely cooling breeze from the sea.

BEACH:

Words are not required for this beach as it is out of this world...! Lovely soft sand with an endless clean beach.

TRIPS:

Went to the Dom Rep for rest and relaxation, so only did one trip - the helicopter tour. This is well worth the trip as they take you along the coast so that you can see all the hotels along the strip and also take you inland so that you see a little more of the country. You can also ask them to take you to any place you particularly want to see of the country. Worth every penny.

MISC:

We heard a lot of people complaining that they had serious stomach upset whilst at this hotel and some seem to be suggesting it was down to hygiene. I think it was unfair to blame to the hotel when some people were clearly not adhering to basic personal hygiene themselves (washing their hands after using toilets springs immediately to mind) and not following instructions by the reps NOT to drink the tap water or brush your teeth with the tap water, rinse your mouth with it or let it get into your mouth whilst you were in the shower. Given that copious amounts of bottled water was available at all times, I really couldn't see why people felt it necessary to ignore warnings and then blame the hotel.

The food itself was of a high standard throughout and it's very unfair that some people were blaming the food when they were clearly not following advice and doing things that they wouldn't do at home (e.g. using the toilet, then not washing their hands and then going straight to the snack bar and handling food without using tongs (!), touching food then licking fingers etc etc etc). I could go on, but I won't. I will just say that I believe it wasn't the fault of the hotel for some/most of those illnesses.

We followed our rep's instructions implicitly regarding the tap water, and can honestly say that we didn't have one day of illness throughout the 2 weeks we were there. I don't believe this was just luck - using common sense in a foreign country just makes sense to us. People do things and behave on holiday in a manner which they wouldn't dream of at home and then wonder why they might just get ill...

I've also read that the staff are not very friendly. Again - NOT TRUE! If you have any problem, they try to help you as best they can, as quickly as they can.

I also read/heard complaints that they don't speak good English (!) Why should they? Do all English/French/Dutch etc etc people speak Spanish??? You're in THEIR country! It’s incumbent upon THE VISITOR to try and learn at least the very basic so that they can communicate. Also, even the ones who speak very little English are able to get across a reply if you ask them a question. As I said to one member of staff who apologised because his English wasn't very good, "you're English is MUCH better than my Spanish" and he just laughed and still managed to help me.

Superclubs Breezes Punta Cana is a first-class hotel and people should go there, enjoy the food, drink, sun and sea and don't listen to the negative reviews you may read about it. The staff are friendly, helpful and as accommodating as they can be. (I wonder how many of us would smile at people after working 16+ hours in one day).

Have a GREAT holiday!

Comments:  This was the worst holiday we have ever had and it was a death trap.
All the bad reviews are correct and I've got pictures to prove I am right.

First of all the holiday was nice and the beach was lovely. It is a lovely place and I would like to go again but certainly not to this hotel.

Thomson have a lot of explaining to do on this holiday, because whilst we was their we found that everyone in the hotel were complaining about the hotel. We got it hit worse by the way. Every day the Thomson Rep Queue were the biggest Queue and everyone was complaining in that Queue. The hotel got degraded from a 4 star + review to a 2 star review in the Thomson Magazine. Its funny when we came back from our holiday that the hotel name changed and it the review had been brought back up to a 4 star + review.

So lets get started with the holiday from hell.

(Please be aware this holiday was some time ago I have to remember the details, but the main horrible details are still in my mind)

First we had to wait in a weird walkway to get out keys to our rooms, which we was not bothered about but the wait was very long. Must have been about half an hour to an hour we was stood waiting to get our keys.

When we finally got our keys we went up to our room. The corridor seemed very nice and posh. It seemed like a lovely hotel. We then opened our door and it seemed alright. Then the maid then turned on the air conditioning for us and left. As soon as he did we all felt sick. The smell of mould and damp was horrible. We couldn't stand in there never mind sleep. We looked inside the air conditioning unit and it was green with mould from what we could see. The rest it was pitch black. We went up to our rep and she came in to the room. She said it was bad and gave us a different room. The other problems with the room was the light switches were rusty, the mirrors were black and tiles were cracked. The next room we got is where it all went even further down hill.

The next room still smelt of damp but manageable. However the bathroom floor was wet. We thought this was strange but ignored it. Then the next thing we realised was there was a leak in our bathroom roof. This was the reason why the bathroom floor was wet. I recorded the leak on my camera and by this time water was literally pouring out of the ceiling. We went down to tea but before showed it to our rep, by my camera. Since we had proof they couldn't say anything. The manager and the rep were having words and then the manager said they will send someone up to fix the leak. So we had tea and that was nice. The food quality was good. We didn't like the different cuisine restaurants as it was lets just say horrible. Anyway when we arrive back at the room to our shock the bathroom was a mess. (What caused the leak was the air conditioning unit, which was above our bathroom) the whole bathroom was filled with mouldy water from the air conditioning unit and all the bath towels were drenched in water. Since all the bath towels were drenched in water the person who came to clean the bathroom used toilet paper on the mirrors so toilet paper were stuck all over the mirror. Bath towels where thrown on the floor and in the toilet. We went down to reception and said someone better clean up our room now. Given them the due the person who came to clean our room did a really good job. Why couldn't this be done earlier.

As we were thinking things are finally over we then realised the leak was diverted and not sorted out. Now the leak was running down the wall of the bathroom. We then went down to reception again. This was going beyond the joke, and the staff decided to give us a premium room. Our rep said “You can't fault a premium room, they are really good”. We said okay, and signed the form to saying that if we chose this room we wouldn't put a court case against them. We found out our room number but they said they needed to get the key ready. So as we waited, we went up to see where this room was. After trying to find this new room which was like a maze, we finally found it and the maid was in doing it up. We asked her kindly if we could have a look in the room since we didn't have a key yet. She kindly agreed and we looked in. The balcony view was nothing. We paid for a sea view and all we saw was a row of balcony's with two balcony's looking in on us. The room was dark and dirty. It had in the master bedroom a small dirty window too. We was furious. It was if they were putting us in a corner and shoving us out of the way. The maid was doing up our room for us specially. That room is never been used, or will only be used in emergencies. We went down to reception and complained. We was not happy and this holiday was getting worse and worse by the second. After much debating, they said we can have a choice of 2 rooms and we will be showed by a man and also our rep will also be with us too. We went to the first room. Well finally we saw a room which was flawless. The door was massive however when you went in – it was beautiful, we had a lovely television area and lovely bedrooms. I think it was for staff only that room. Then the second room we got showed was a premium room again – just like the room we complained about however it had two balconies, the room was bright, there were no damp smell and also a Jacuzzi. The balcony view was a sea and stage view. We decided to go with the second room (premium) since it had enough bedrooms for us and the flawless room didn't. Even though the premium room was the better hotel room, it still wasn't great since the bathroom roof titles were broken and the jacuzzi gave my mum a bruise by sucking her leg into it.

That was the end of our hotel room hell. Apart from that the holiday went fantastically well. The staff was nice and friendly. There were more problems to arise however we were afraid.

The amount of people ill from the hotel was unbelievable. Nearly everyone was ill and feeling sick with diarrhoea and other illnesses. It didn't help with the birds flying in the open room restaurant and landing on the food and pecking at it.

I must admit though the doctor was very helpful. I had an ear infection from the pool (I always seem to get them on holiday) and I went to him. He said he will give me an injection of anti-biotics. Anyway after the injection I had a panic attack and he said do a couple of moves to stop the panic attack. It worked like a charm, he certainly knew what he was doing. As for payment he said put your money away as long as you got insurance they will claim it off Thomson! (even though we didn't have insurance with Thomson!)

Here comes the trips. This is the highlight of your holiday the trips. We wanted to swim with dolphins and see the tigers in a swimming pool. You can have a picture in a swimming pool with a tiger on your shoulders. (This was fake by the way, since the tigers were behind glass). However you need to get on a plane to get their. We all set off and when we got their, we were in the terminal and out again. The person (guide) in charge kept counting the tokens (tokens which we received from the guide on the trip) and also counting us all, and bringing us in the terminal and out. Finally group 1 got on the bus down to runway and got off. We went to the first plane and the captains were shaking their heads saying this is not the plane, looked at the second plane still the captains were shaking their heads saying this is not the plane. We looked at the final one and all looked at each other and said to each other, we are all not getting on that plane since there were not enough seats. The guide that was with us told us to get back on the bus. After about another half an hour the guide got on the bus and we went back to the terminal. We said hello to group two back at the terminal. Everyone was wondering now what is happening, and there were lots of questions being asked. Nobody knew what was happening. Then the guide was counting the tokens again and then finally said “We cannot fly because the weather where we was landing was unsuitable.” If he said that straight away we could of believe him, but because he kept counting us and counting the tokens we felt he messed up with the numbers and there were two many people to fly. We booked the trip again on a different day. We got a phone call later the day we booked it saying that the trip has been moved from 5:00am to 7:00am. We thought okay, and set off down at 6:30am. We went in the breakfast bar which was open at that time and then waited at the reception room door. There was another family that was going on the same trip. We didn't say anything to each other until it passed 7:30am and there were not coach or nothing. We said to them are you going on the dolphin trip and they said “yes, we are”. We talked with each other thinking that the coach is very late. All these other coaches came and trips went and we was watching all these people going on different trips. The bell boys were saying all these trips and it weren't ours. It soon reached 8:30am and we decided together that the trip weren't coming, so we all went to the Thomson Rep to get a refund for the trip. We must have had a season ticket with our rep we had been that many times, and she said that you had missed the coach, however this was the cherry on the cake. The family that was with us didn't get the phone call, so they were there at 5:00am. So our Thomson Rep couldn't argue back and gave us our money back. This however wasn't the hotels fault but it was still a bad experience since it all seemed to go wrong at this hotel.

Apart from these hiccups we had a nice holiday. We had a word with many other people around the hotel, and they said the same thing and other faults such as maggots in the kettle, broken mirrors, the casino is rigged and fraudulent, damp rooms. The staff were extremely unfriendly to kids. The kids club staff were shouting at the kids and treating them like dirt. This wedding couple we got chatting too, had guests dotted all other the hotel when they said they all wanted to be together and the wedding package was meant to be all included. They had to pay additional fees when they got there for everything that was meant to be included. They said they were horrified of the costs and they paid a thousand pound more than what we paid to come to the hotel. Also the amount of people sick was unbelievable.

The last thing, that didn't bother us but seem to bother everyone else was two things that seem to happen on the same day. We got a letter under our door saying that they are turning off the air conditioning for a couple of days due to maintenance and also the letter was saying about a insect infestation. The air conditioning however only was down for a couple of hours, but the amount of insects on our door and in the corridor. There were hundreds. The insects seem to come out of nowhere and flooded the hotel. With all the spiders and insects it made the hotel look and feel dirty.

There was at least one brilliant thing about the hotel. In the restaurant the man who served us coffee were very nice indeed and we gave him a very large tip at the end of our holiday.

The worst hotel we had ever been too and defiantly not recommended to anyone.

Comments:  Our group of eleven were ill the entire 2 weeks, it was a nightmare.

Sick smelly beds. Mess floating in the pool, maggots in the coffee pot.

We went to see the rep and she said it was a virus it was airborne, everyone we spoke to add been ill. It made us all having to stay on the complex near a loo and not able to go on any trips we had planned.

You save all year to have an enjoyable time on holiday. Not what we expected for a 4 star plus more like 2 star!!

Comments:  Just got back from Hell on Earth today thought I would try to warn others before it was too late to change destination.

We had 14 days at Breezes Punta Cana, Myself my wife & 8 year old daughter have been ill for 10 of them. We have been complaining to the rep for over a week that there was a problem at the hotel with the food & hygiene. Many people having sickness & diarrhea (I mean 50/60 people). We have been abroad a lot & had jippy tummy bugs.

I can assure you the pain from these stomach cramps & sickness is not that. Have been told by Thomson rep no one else ill & its an airborne bug, Believe me they are ill!

Pool is dirty causing ear infections in the hotel (It doesn’t help when people are being sick in the pool & throwing drinks in for a laugh).

Have seen people leaving hotel with a drip inserted in arm on way to hospital. We know of 2 teenagers who could not return on our homeward flight due to illness.

The only good side to the hotel is the 4 specialty restaurants & the location on the beach

We would never come here again, Have been traveling on many holidays for 20 years now & this is the worst, we thought a Caribbean holiday at Breezes would be the ultimate, how wrong could we be.

Best part of the holiday was the flight home, it was early!

I see quite a few good reports giving high ratings, all I can say is they must have been lucky!

Comments:  Where do I start, the holiday was a disaster.

When arriving at the Dominican Republic my first thoughts where brill, we were met by traditional ladies with baskets on their heads and asked to have photos taken.

It really felt like we were in the Caribbean when we first arrived at the hotel, first impressions were lovely but then this is where it all went wrong.

My parents were not recognised as being guests, the staff could not speak English which is no fault of theirs but the rep had done a runner, leaving us to cope.

My husband and children got our rooms no problem but it took my parents over an hour.

When we got our rooms we were in the basement, with a strong musty smell. The shower did not work and the decor was shabby.

The room felt very damp so we asked to move, only to be told that we could not move until the next day.

The next day came I was told we could move rooms, just to pack and a bell boy would bring our cases up to the room. That was at about 12.00 o’clock.

At three o’clock the cases had not arrived, so I sat in the room for three hours for nothing. I rang down and about two hours later they arrived. The room was better.

FOOD- all I can say is horrible! The dining room was a disaster not enough seating for the amount of guests. Nothing was edible, all of it looked like it had been heated up from the previous day.

All except the breakfast, which we always had an omelette as we watched this being done in front of us. Birds where dive bombing us from every angle and nobody did anything to stop this, they were also pecking at food that was on display.

Restaurants - These where a disgrace. The Japanese we had beetles crawling in front of us, my mother had a piece of porcelain in her mouth from one of the plates, she ended up walking out she had had enough.

The hotel was full of local people who took preference over paying guests, there was not enough seating at night to enjoy a drink and as my mother as a back problem we found ourselves back at our room early most nights.

There was ongoing building work being done near where children were staying, such as open lifts propped open by planks of wood open sewers, which where over spilling.

Most of our party where ill. Myself, my mother, husband and daughter were all ill. My mother and myself needing a doctor and medication this went on for nearly a week.

There are many more complaints to many to mention really.

The up side is the wonderful beach, this is where we spent most of our days till the dreaded nights came, where we knew we had to yet again, face the restaurants.

Comments:  After booking our once in a lifetime holiday for my husband and two children age 4 and 15, we were very disappointed.

We had 4 rooms and all were smelly and in need of a good clean. Not at all what we expected for a 4* hotel.

The lifts were out of order, the fire alarm in the second week kept going off early hours of the morning, there were plug sockets near the buffet restaurant hanging off and the food was awful.

You get sick off eating rice and chicken, birds flying in to eat out of the bowls.

My husband was ill for 1 day and I was ill for 2, with sickness and diahorrea. God I thought I was dying - they said it was the pool but my eldest daughter was never out of the pool and she was ok. Thank god our 4yr old didn’t get it but she hardly ate, neither did I after that, lived on bread rolls and melon.

We would have paid to of come home early if we could. The nightclub was not that good either. The pool was lovely and the beach was fantastic.

The one trip we went on was good, the lad’s angel and munchy were very nice and funny, that was the Jurassic safari well worth the money but I would not rate this hotel at all very disappointing.

Complained to Airtours with photos and got some compensation. We were asked on our 4th room what we wanted; I replied the holiday I bought and thought we were gong to get a clean room something to go home and show off about and that I hadn’t paid nearly £4000 for this. It was very disapointing.

This hotel needs looking at it. Choose another hotel. I've stopped in B&B in Blackpool better than the superclubs. The best bits were meeting nice people and the flight home.

If you do go to Dominican take pencils and books and clothing for the Dominican children, they don’t have much at all - if anything - as you will see if you go on the trips, the guides will stop so you can hand them out.

Comments:  The brochure said 4* plus but I wouldn’t rate it a 3*. We had 4 rooms in two hours of getting there very disappointing not what we expected for a family holiday. We were all ill so were most of the other people we spoke to in the hotel. The rooms were so basic and of no quality or standard.

The food was boring nearly always the same. We lost weight and couldn’t wait to get home. Never again, not a luxurious life time holiday, birds flying in and eating from the bowls staff didn’t move the bowls. I would say DONT GO.

Comments:  I went to Dominican this year with my partner and my 4 yr old son. Overall the holiday was really nice.

Hotel

The hotel is very clean there is always people cleaning all day and into the night. The staff could be more friendly they didn’t really go out there way to help you.

Rooms

The rooms were cleaned every day could not fault them and more than enough towels.

Pool

The pool area was cleaned every day and at the end of the day all the beds were put neaty the other problem is that you had to be up no later than 8 to get a bed even though hotel said no towel before 8!

Restaurant (main)

The main restaurant was clean and plenty of variety of food morn, din, tea. The only problem was that there was no windows all arches which the birds use to flight through in a morning and if you was not at your table and food was on there they would eat it. So don’t leave the table! (This was not a problem). They had a bbq every dinner time round the pool this was great plenty of chicken, pork and burgers and was cooked well.

Restaurant

Mexican, French, Japanese, Italian. All these restaurants were brill the Italian was the best we went twice.

Entertainment

The kids club was open 9-6 which I thought was along time. I think they need to do more activity with them and maybe shut for a while. At night the kids disco!! what disco! from 8-8.30 the same songs every night! This needs to be much improved different things on each night (can not believe this is in the Thompson super family brochure!). The entertainment was on far to late 10-11 and was not that good the best night is the beach party and the other the Clown with the trampoline (not sure what it was called) but they got the kids involved.

Trips

We only went on one trip not through the tour operator but through the reps in reception as the tour operator was a lot more expensive and we were told no atmosphere.
We did the Jurassic tour which was excellent a full day out and you get to see all you want in 1 day well worth the money.

Yes I had the stomach cramps and the sickness for 3 days and never eat. I don’t know what it is but most people I spoke to one out of the party had been ill. I’ve never been ill on holiday.

We was delayed coming back 18 hrs which the hotel was brilliant no bother we kept our rooms another day and night and eat and drank as normal. Overall the holiday was really nice and nothing spoiled it.

Comments:  I am going to go into detail with this holiday as it’s good to know where you are going and what it’s like, here we go!!

When we arrived at the airport it was great, it had a straw roof, and women with fruit balanced on their heads (u get your picture taken with them and you can buy them in the airport on your way home), and men playing the bongos!! Made you feel like you were in the Caribbean straight away, was a great feeling!

When we arrived at the hotel, we were really pleased, it looked fabulous! The room was lovely, we were on the bottom floor and had a view of the pool and the sea! It was really clean, we had two double beds, mirrored wardrobe, TV, CD player and even an iron and ironing board!!! Ladies, don’t bother taking your hairdryer, as I took mine, and it would hardly work, the power over there is really low, so I just used the one in the bathroom and it was fine. Don’t listen to other peoples reports on the cleanliness of the rooms because they were fine. You get clean towels everyday, and if you want your bed covers changing everyday, just leave the card on your pillow and they will change it.

The beach was out of this world!! Clear blue sea, and pure white sand, beautiful. Pool was also lovely, although we only went in once as we couldn’t keep away from the sea!!! The pool is really clean, and really big. (Don’t listen to people’s bad reports about it being dirty coz it wasn’t!!) Also, the beach had wooden ash trays next to the sun lounges, so there are no cigarette buds on the sand as people also mentioned in their reports!!!

Now onto the food, during the day you can eat at a choice of three restaurants: the poolside which does BBQ, Sombrero which does pizza, chips, meatballs etc, and the main buffet restaurant. On a night: you get 6 reservation tickets given to you when you first get to the hotel, it is for the six speciality restaurants which are Japanese, Italian, French, BBQ, Seafood, and Mexican. We only went to the Italian, French, Japanese and Mexican restaurants and they were absolutely gorgeous!! Such a nice change from the hideous alcazar (which I will tell you about in a min)!! You are given set times to go, and you can only go once, which I think is really bad. If you want to change the time you can do this at reception. For the remaining nights, when you are not visiting the other restaurants, you go to the buffet restaurant called the alcazar, which I’m sorry to say but it was disgusting!!! I am not a fussy eater whatsoever, but the food not only tasted disgusting, but it looked disgusting too!!! Me and my boyfriend lived on soup and chips from the kiddies section!!!!

On a night, there are two lobby bars, and two outside bars. It’s very quiet. There is also a disco, but I think it’s mainly the Spanish who go down there. There were evening shows on, but it got very boring as it was just dancing all the time, not mine and my boyfriends cup of tea really!!! Also, it can take you a while to get served at the bars, this is because apparently they don’t like the English, which is probably true! I found myself standing there for 15 minutes, while they serve the Spanish before u, even if they get to the bar after u, it’s very annoying, and you can see the English getting annoyed, I thought one man was going to punch a member of bar staff coz they smirk at you while they serve other people!!!

I must recommend you go to ocean world!! It was the best time of my life!! It is very expensive though, as you have to get a flight there, as it’s at Puerto Plata, which is right at the other side of the Dominican. This is the only excursion we did though, so it wasn’t so bad. We chose to swim with the dolphins and do a sealion encounter, this cost us altogether with the flights, $350 which is £200. I thoroughly recommend you do this, as it’s an excellent experience. The dolphin swim was brilliant, but I certainly recommend you do the sealion encounter as this was certainly the best!! You got your photos took with them kissing you, and putting their arm around u! (They cost $10 to buy) they let you stroke them, they slash you, and they are so, so funny!! I recommend watching the sealion show as well, this is included with the excursion, as is the tiger grotto where you are separated by glass, and the birds etc. You can also do a shark encounter, although they are only small!! I had an excellent day, did not want to leave!!

Overall, I had a very good holiday; my only disappointments were the alcazar buffet restaurant and the evening entertainment. I would say this hotel is mainly for older couples, as me and my boyfriend are in our 20s and it was a bit to quiet on a night for us!! Put it this way, we were going to bed at half ten, and usually in past, lively holidays we stay up till about 1am!!!

I must say though it is a beautiful place, the beach is perfect, and I’m sure you will enjoy just being able to relax and have a breather from work!!

Comments:  Ignore all the bad reviews this hotel has received - me and my boyfriend recently returned from a two week all inclusive holiday and we had the best time! The hotel is gorgeous, we made loads of friends and went on about 6 excursions - which were all amazing...I would recommend Saona island, Marinarium and Jurassic safari. The private beach is the most beautiful beach we have both ever been to its just how I imagined with clear water, tropical fish and white sand. We snorkeled quite a lot as well which I never normally do so definitely take a mask and snorkel. We saw some amazing sights.

The food was lovely - the buffet restaurants didn’t compare to the Specialty restaurants though. We ate in every restaurant and they were all superb A la carte restaurants.
If you’re interested you can have a free banana boat ride - go to the water sports centre for this. We also done the Para sailing which is another thing i wouldn’t normally do and i am so proud of myself for doing it - I'd recommend this too as the views are breath taking!

The entertainment on the hotel could be a bit cheesy but was all in the name of fun - the best entertainment was the beach party and the karaoke! Try the casino out as well as we had a lot of fun in there and collected some winnings as well. Woo hoo.

The flight was smooth and the transfer coach was ready and waiting and the journey didn’t take too long either.

Overall we had an excellent time so do not listen to bad reviews our stay had absolutely no complaints. I was a bit worried by other peoples moans and groans but there is no need to be! X

Comments:  Just got back from one of the best holidays I've ever had. The only other holiday that was as good was Las Vegas. The hotel was superb. I would've given 10/10 rating but I think there is always room for improvement in any place.

The restaurants and choices were fantastic, and you could book every night in the specialty restaurants if you wanted as long as they weren't fully booked it was on a first come first served basis. The main buffet restaurant was fantastic with so much choice and they had themed nights which was brilliant. You had so much choice in drinks and the service was great apart from the lobby bar.

The only thing the hotel was lacking was entertainment but it didn’t spoil the holiday it just meant we sat by the beach most nights drinking. The weather was amazing it was actually too hot some days, but it helped having a massive pool which was gorgeous. The beach is so clean and just like paradise. The water is so clear you could see the fish that were swimming nearby it was lovely.

Overall the holiday was excellent and I would definitely recommend you go there. Next time I go to the Dominican I would like to go to Puerto Plata and see how that compares to Punta Cana!

Comments:  I have been reading customer complaints for this hotel and I must say that I am absolutely stunned to say the least.

My 19 yr old daughter and I went to Super Breezes in March 2006; we booked 10 days before we went and had not read any reviews on the hotel.

If we had read them we would have had second thoughts about going. How glad we were! On our arrival we were greeted at the airport in true Caribbean style.

Transfer was smooth and on arrival at the hotel we were very impressed.

Being 2 women on our own, we were obviously a bit concerned about our safety. But we were amazed to find the staff and other guests were very friendly and we were spoilt rotten.

Our room overlooked the neighbouring French hotel, which we were initially not happy about, we were offered another room but decided to stay put, and after the first day we were glad we did.

The maid kept our room spotlessly clean and the fridge and tea and coffee were replenished every day. We had clean beach towels every day too.

The food was excellent and the a`la`carte restaurants were of very high standard.

We would like to say thank you to Jose, Leonardo, Franklin, and Chapel for helping to make our holiday really special. We will never forget you all.

We never return to the same hotel as we feel there are so many places to visit, but we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, young or old.

Happy Holidays. From Karen and Rachel.

Comments:  Just a quick review to tell you that this is a brilliant all inclusive resort! We had our wedding out there and it was fantastic couldn't have asked for more.

The whole family came out with some young children but due to the size of the resort we hardly ever saw them! The room was generous and very clean, the maid service was excellent. The swimming pool and grounds were immaculate although you had to fight for a sun lounger in the morning due to the obnoxious Canadians who reserved theirs at 5:30 am everyday!

The food was varied and of a high standard, they even had a separate children’s section in the buffet. Bar service was a little slow in the evening unless of course you were American/Canadian and waving money at the bar staff. Would recommend the Saona island, Jurassic safari, and swimming with sharks and rays excursions. All very good value for money.

Overall it was brilliant and we're already looking at booking our place again next year.

Comments:  Enough different types of food and drink to please everybody even a kids section in the buffet restaurant. The hotel was spotless, all the staff took pride in the hotel and surroundings.

The entertainment was a bit same'ish but enjoyable if you only watched a few times . The sea is not very child friendly big strong waves, but the beach is clean and soft and kept clean . I cannot comment on the watersports because we did not do any. The pool area was also kept very clean and quite safe for children with shallow areas the drinks where very generously served though the beach bar did get busy on occasions.

The trapeze trampoline and "ice" rink had set times for adults and children, there were lots of activities going on for the energetic from volleyball to a disco all in all a very good holiday. There were various trips available but all seemed to involve a long journey (2 hours plus to go to Saona island but worth it) helicopter trips are available, airport transfer and short sight seeing trip approx £80 per person .

Yes worth the long flight and will visit again a ideal place for all ages, the only drawback is not a lot of places to go, to walk off the meals which there is plenty of. (possibility of going stir crazy if you don’t go off site even for a walk to the tennis courts).
