Rondel Village Hotel

This was our fifth visit to Negril, often on the Cliffs but decided the beach was our new haunt to discover even more fun that we imagined. The superior rooms are perfect for two unless you want to cook. They are clean, nicely kept and have all amenities that one would need for relaxing, including a small fridge. The veranda's are a bit close to each other, but still a nice place to sit and read, and even enjoy the sunset as our room had a partial ocean view. We travel to Negril every year and will never return to Rondell Village. On top of the very expensive rate they had the nerve to charge $3 a day for the in room safe. We couldn't afford to have our friends come and hang out with us because they charged $25 a day, which I have heard is illegal in Jamaica. They're food was disappointing, compared to all the other choices on the island. The management sent us harrassing e mails when we forgot to return a key. I waited some time before writing this review because I wanted to make sure that it was objective. The good: the property is on a nice stretch of beach that has been largely unspoiled, the rooms are basic and clean( a cigarette burn though in the blanket was kinda gross ), a nicely maintained property with beautiful foliage, a fun beach bar with decent prices and a good restaurant on property Irie on the Beach with fresh delicious food. Due to a family emergency, we had to cut our one week break to the Rondel short. We had no problem in getting a refund on our card and sympathy from the hotel manager. The rooms were clean and the service was great. The staff were friendly - especially the security guard - and we felt totally relaxed. Food was brought to our room and we ate at the "restaurant" a couple of eveninngs. The only major problem - SANDFLIES (particularly in the jacuzzi area).

Just returned from 8 days in Negril, and we really didn't want to leave this time. My husband and i along with our 7 month old travelled with 3 first timers and we all really enjoyed every minute. Stayed in the "Grape" 2 bedroom villa at Rondel Village, the room, the housekeeping staff, security and the grounds were wonderful. Cooked a few meals of our own in our kitchen and really enjoyed the covered porch for late night drinking and playing card games. My husband and I stayed at Rondel Village Jan 21 - Jan 28. We have been island vacationing twice a year, for the last 5 years and I have to say Negril was the most relaxing, laid back trip we have ever taken. I literally put on shoes twice the entire week! Everywhere we went we walked the beach. Staying at Rondel Village, which is situated in the center of 7 mile beach, was an excellent choice. Room was across the street with the "patio" facing a 8 foot white fence. The otherside of ther fence was where the hotel employees did maintenance work...so at 8 in the morning I could wake up to the great sound of skill saws and hammers!! The staff was fine as long as you tipped them to do their job. I was bothered by vendorsa non-stop on the beach....secutrity didnt fare to well here. I will never be back!!!

We were suppose to be staying at White Sands..didn't like it at all. We came across Rondel Village and the moment we opened the reception door I KNEW this was where we were suppose to be. The people are fantastic - Mr Johnson and Richard (security) The reception ladies, Crazy the barman and Rochester the waiter...these people and more really know how to look after you. The place is clean, large rooms, great food and drink and you're right on the beach. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Hi, My daughter and I stayed at the Village in Jan of 06 for two weeks. We had a great time. They had around the clock security and even put our chairs out on the beach. as we walked the beach, they keept an eye out for our stuff, and kept away the the venders that couldn't take no for an answer. Ms Shirley, and the cleaning staff cleaned our rooms on a daily basis, and always gave us extra towles when we needed them. The entire staff was excellent. From the ladies at the front desk to the security gaurds ( Johno, Indian) to house keeping (carrol), bartender (crazy), waitress were all wonderfull. The only drawback is the hotel close proximity to the night club JUNGLE across the street. The music from there can be annoying even for me as a jamaican when you are trying to get some sleep at 2 or 3am.
