Such a lovely place to stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
Simply loved staying at Ginger Lily. Lovely, big, bright, clean spacious rooms, with outside living space including a hammock and a lovely swimming pool to cool off in. The cook makes the greatest eggs for breakfast and the staff are lovely. It's a peaceful place, not far from the busy main strip with the large hotels, so you have the best of both worlds. It's only a moment’s walk away from the beach. it's always a pleasure to come back to the beautiful Ginger Lily gardens, order a drink and sit by the pool until the sun goes down. My family live in St. Lucia and even though we have a house there I still like to take friends and family and spend a few days at Ginger Lily when I visit. I recommend this place to everyone.
Ginger Lillies!!!!

I've just returned from an absolutely fantastic trip to the caribbean, everything was perfect including this hotel. It's a very small, but extremely friendly place to stay. You are made to feel so welcome and the staff soon know you by name as opposed to room number. This hotel seriosly felt like home - comfortable, secure and a pleasure to be in. I will definetely be staying here again.
Excellent - Highly Reccommended

My second trip to St Lucia and there was no way that I was staying anywhere else but the Ginger Lily. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful they make you feel very welcome. The food was wonderful and excellent access to the beach. I would definately reccommend this Hotel to anyone visiting St Lucia.
The Absolute BEST Hotel in St. Lucia
from nmanning
My husband and I just returned from St. Lucia, where we were married in a private ceremony on the beach. We discovered the Ginger Lily Hotel via our wedding coordinator (Awesome Caribbean Weddings). After speaking with the wedding coordinator, and reading other reviews on the internet regarding this hotel, we immediately booked it. Not only was the hotel accomodating to my husband and I, but when 11 people decided last minute to show up to our wedding in St. Lucia, the Ginger Lily was accomodating to our friends and family as well. Upon arrival, my husband and I were upgraded to a wonderful suite (No. 9). After entering the suite, we found the room to be spacious, clean, comfortable and we LOVED the flowers and decorations placed on the bed each day. The staff knew that we were to be married and on one occassion, arranged the towels on our bed into two swans kissing with rose petals sprinkled all around. Too cute. The air conditioning is powerful and cools the room down fast. Though, we preferred to keep the shutters open in order to take in all of the sights and sounds. The bathrooms are large, have plenty of counterspace and hot water. Ample amounts of fresh, clean towels were left by housekeeping each day. The restaurant, though small, offers one of the BEST breakfasts in Castries. During the afternoon, if you want to enjoy a lunch poolside, the restaurant will bring your meal out to the tables set up by the pool. The pool is just the right temperature, is clean and not over-chlorinated. If you're a beach person instead, the beach is just a short walk away. Across the street, is a great English pub called The Cat's Whiskers and has one of the best burgers around which you can enjoy with a cold Piton beer. Shops, markets and restaurants are all within a short walking distance of the Ginger Lily Hotel and cabs are easily accessible should you choose to use one. My husband and I intend to return to St. Lucia as an anniversary trip one day. We are 100% positive we will stay once again at the Ginger Lily. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic little hideaway that isn't a resort, the Ginger Lily is definitely it!!
Excellent Stay & Great Value
from scheubox
We just returned from an 8 night stay in St. Lucia and we must highly recommend this hotel! The Ginger Lily is a wonderful, small, boutique hotel just across the road from Reduit beach. It is well within walking distance of several good restaurants (though they do have their own which we did not try). The beach is only a minute or two away. The rooms are large, airy, tastefully (if simply) furnished, immaculately kept, and the A/C worked very well. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Each day, the housekeeping staff created lovely designs from fresh flowers and towels on our bed, different for each of 8 days! Beds are comfortable, bathroom is large, and showers work great with plenty of pressure and hot water. The grounds are lush with many flowering plants and are excellently maintained. The pool, while somewhat small, is just the right temperature, clean, and not overly chlorinated. The location is secluded and it is pretty quiet. There was the occasional barking dog at night, and a few nights the frogs were quite vocal after it rained. Neither is the hotel's fault, but if that kind of thing bothers you, book a hotel with "real" windows you can close. But with the shutters closed and the A/C on, the disturbances (if you can call them that) are minimal at worst. While we were a bit disappointed with St. Lucia as a destination, this charming hotel was the highlight of our trip. Thanks and kudos to Cheryl and her staff for making us feel welcome and giving us a private oasis away from home!
Highly recommended

If you are looking for a quiet intimate hotel that is very original when compared to the other chain hotels then you can't go wrong at Ginger Lily. There were a total of 10 of us on a holiday away from work and the families. This small boutique hotel felt like home and we felt at home sitting by the pool in the early evening. The rooms including the bathroom are exceptionally large with plenty of room to feel completly comfortable. The food in the restaurant is just as good.
Intimate place near Reduit beach

My wife, 7 yr old son and I spent out first three nights here during a two week vacation in February 2005. We arrived late afternoon after a one and a half hour taxi ride from Hewanorra airport which cost us US$65. We booked through Tradewinds and found it slightly more pricey than the next three hotels we went to with Opodo.com - mainly because it didn't include breakfast in the price. We stayed in a ground floor room near the poolside which was spacious with a queen bed and a large sofabed for our son, TV, and air conditioning, fridge and kitchen sink. There are only eleven rooms so it is quite intimate. When we stayed only three or four of the rooms appeared in use. There is a US$3 daily charge for use of a padlock to secure a floor safe lid in the room. Lots of flowers were left daily. The bathroom had a very large shower/wetroom section which was only slightly spoiled by poor water pressure on the showerhead. The pool was small and very clean...in fact all day staff were cleaning and maintaining constantly. We were disorientated so straight after checking in we walked about and found we were a short 200 metre walk across the carpark opposite the hotel to the Spinnakers restaurant and Reduit beach. The beach is quite developed compared with the quieter more southern coves we visited later in the holiday, but has great sand and small waves. Cruise ship passengers are dropped off here late morning. We camped out on towels in front of the Rex hotel and had our own umbrella (a freebe from Greece!) but I think people were being charged US$12 for a brolly and two chairs. There were half a dozen local pedlars selling 'lava bead' necklaces or plying for trade on watersports - but all were friendly and non-threatening and by day two they must have recognised our umbrella and didn't bother us much again. Our first breakfast was disappointing at the hotel and seemed expensive so we self-catered the next two mornings. There is a poorly stocked small mart nearby, or the large well stocked 'JC' Mall just over a quarter mile hike (with 'Popeyes', Burger King, Domino's and KFC's if you yearn for junk food - we didn't). The top floor of the Mall has a food-hall with four local takeaway outlets for delicious and very cheap local food (e.g. EC$10 for baked chicken & rice). Tables are provided. The St. Lucia Bank is also in the Mall for changing travellers cheques etc and is also open Saturday mornings in this location only. A few tramps hang about the Mall but none bothered us. I told my son that the one with one leg was a pirate! We ate some of the local spicy beef patties from the small bakery next to the supermarket which were tasty. They also stock the delicious Piton Shandy in various flavours. In the evenings we ate at Spinnakers for the Valentines Special menu which was delicious - particularly the seafood pancake appetiser which is on the regular menu also. Another night we ate at the Eagle's Nest just along the road from our hotel on the harbourside. We had the earlybird dinner with four courses, including fresh tuna & Kingfish which was great and cheap at only EC$35 per person. The tank full of lobsters was entertaining for our son too. If we had had more time we would have eaten there again. Our only complaint concerning our hotel was that in the evenings guests favoured the poolside table right next to our room for late drinks and on occasion this was quite loud. We were hitting the sack earlier than most due to having a young child, but if you're up late this wouldn't bother you. Even with earplugs I was struggling to sleep properly (I suggest earplugs anyway if you're a light sleeper because noisy treefrogs and crickets were calling all night everywhere on the island). My wife paticularly loved this hotel and as we intend to visit St. Lucia again, this is one of the places we would choose for its small intimate atmosphere, position near Reduit beach and just far enough from the bustle of Rodney Bay village. Lovely accommodation
from A TripAdvisor Member
We just returned from spending 6 nights at Ginger Lily. It's a lovely little hotel, our room was excellent - very clean, nicely furnished, very comfortable. There were only a few of us staying at the hotel so it was pretty quiet but there was a friendly atmosphere and Cheryl was extremely professional and personable. We will definitely be returning to Ginger Lily. Just one small criticism - although the bathroom was very nice, the shower itself was disappointing as it was not powerful enough. If you are planning to stay in Rodney Bay, this is far nicer than the large hotels and there are more than enough restaurants/bars very close by to eat at.
Gem of a small hotel
from alextapia
The Ginger Lily is an oasis of peace and relaxation in the hectic Rodney Bay area of St. Lucia. The hotel is attractive, nicely landscaped, small (but quite sufficient!) pool, comfortable dining area open to the pool, good sized rooms with HUGE lovely bathroom. The service and personal attention from Cheryl Gustave, the manager, and the rest of the staff are what really make it special.
Lovely small hotel, excellent service

The Ginger Lily is a beautiful, small hotel across from the Rex Hotels. The manager Cheryl made us a memorable dinner our first night and we felt like honored guests through out our stay. Our room was so clean with every attention to detail. We just loved the Ginger Lily!

We stayed in December 06 at the Ginger Lily, on arrival to the hotel after a 12 hour trip we was greated by very pleasent staff (which was mostly all very friendly and knew us by our first names after the first day) we was shown to our room (room 1) which was huge and very... more
