Wedding at the Inn
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I recently got married at the Inn at English Harbour. It was everything that we hoped it would be - and so much more. We had stayed at the Inn the previous summer and had discussed the specifics of the event with the management team then. With a minimum of fuss, we later signed an agreement that we thought was very fair, covering food and beverage for the rehearsal dinner and reception, as well as room blocks for our guests. Although we worked with some of the local vendors directly in the months leading up to the...

Made our rainy honeymoon wonderful
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Inn for our honeymoon in May 2004. Unfortunately we visited Antigua during a VERY long rainy period and off-season. The Inn made the trip worthwhile. We upgraded to a newer room from the beachside room. We could not have lasted in that small room for 9 nights! Our room was gorgeous! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We enjoyed many a relaxed night up at the restaurant nursing a drink and chatting with the staff and other patrons. I agree with some of the other reviews. This is not the place to...

A lovely spot with a great location
from A TripAdvisor Member
My girlfriend and I stayed at "The Inn" during March of 2004. We are in our upper twenties and enjoy food, wine and the outdoors. The English Harbour location was perfect, in our opinion, the best spot on the island. This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we had a wonderful time. We are the type of people that like to explore and did not spend a lot of time at the inn's beach. The beach is a fine 100 yard crescent of sand with gentle surf. The beach bar is quaint and serviceable. Neil, the bartender, at both the beach bar and...

style imperfect
from A TripAdvisor Member
just returned (nov04 )from a weeks stay in a deluxe suite. Size and style of suite excellent with 4 poster bed, antique furnishings and large balcony.Fantastic views of English Harbour with private boat shuttle to the centre.Restaurants and staff all excellent. THE place to chill out. BUT - pool dirty for most of our stay, beach furniture poor, no aircon, too many mosquitos and flies and not enough effort to reduce them, shower pressure poor. After a few days none of this seems to matter as the relaxed charm of the resort gets to...

Had a wonderful time
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Inn (as part of a large group) in June and had a wonderful time. The hotel is in a lovely tranquil setting - with its own sandy beach, safe waters for swimming, and plenty of space to relax completely, on a sun lounger or hammock between the palms. Great pool right by the beach and pretty grounds - flowers, egrets, humming birds flitting about. The reception, restaurant and bar are at the top of the hill, while most of the suites and the beach bar are at the bottom facing the beach. The new suites were among the nicest rooms...

Deceptive image
from A TripAdvisor Member
The accommodation was ok. The watersports were non-existent when it came to Sunfish and Windsurfing, equipment borken, no apology or alternative. No urgency to fix. Nearby St. James' club has excellent watersports. The new accommodation or old beach front accommodation is at the bottom of a very steep road leading back to the restaraunt/bar/reception. They have car/van shuttle, but really this should be made clear in their publicity. Restaraunt over-priced and banking on the fact it is arduous to go anywhere else without...

Little Girl with the Curl
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed there 5th – 14th April, in one of the Hilltop Cottage rooms. For us, the Inn at English Harbour was like the little girl with the curl. “When she was good she was very, very good. But when she was bad she was horrid!” The good: The pool, poolside area and the beach are delightful – lots of shade, lovely clean sands and real palm trees, pretty hammocks, hideaway gazebos, plenty of loungers and shade. Gardens lovely, visiting egrets, flowers, books to borrow from the hotel library – a real pleasure to let a...

Great Place pity no one's managing
from nmcc
We stayed at The Inn over New Year 03/04 arriving New Year Eve. Warm welcome and lovely room, new block deluxe suite. the New Year Eve gala Dinner at $130 per head was a non event, most people went to bed before midnight. The following day the sun shone and all appeared great. Beautiful location, friendly staff but where were the management? the breakfast buffet is poor with little choice, the evening menu in the main restaurant at the top of the hill is over fussy. While the staff try and do things right there are no managers making sure it...

one of the most relaxing holidays i've ever had
from A TripAdvisor Member
Just come back from a week at the Inn, and had to say what a great stay we had. It is set on Galleon Beach round the corner from nelson's Dockyard,an old colonial dockyard still very much in tact which has some great restaurants (try Cap Horn, Southern Cross or The Last Lemming). the rooms are big and have ceiling fans - could do with proper air con but didn't really matter. Has cable tv and great shower also. The well tendered garden in front leads down to great beach which has hardly anyone on it. the breakfast/lunch bar is fine and the...

Delightful old Caribbean Inn
from A TripAdvisor Member
We visited The Inn and, having heard great things about it from other Brits, were not disappointed. The location is the best on the island between Shirley Heights and Nelson's Dockyard. Beautiful beach, delightful staff and excellent rooms. Those down by the beach are quite new and are in Junior Suite, old colonial style. They have no a/c but the way the trade winds blow there is always a lovely breeze coming into Freemans Bay from the Ocean so it is not needed. The beachfront restaurant - where the two ladies Aloma and Dorothy are the best...
