We chose Folgarida for a mixed party of skiers and a snowboarder from beginners to good skiers. Hotel Kapriol is great fun and very friendly with excellent and plentiful food! Italian family runs the hotel but the Equity reps come round every evening to chat and sort out any problems or advise re events. Small friendly village with everything you could need - fairly quiet and no raucous behaviour though. Eta Beta bar is good fun and Ricky the owner is hilarious. He is also a very good ski instructor.
Resort is excellent for beginners as they have their own easy two-man chair leading to two nursery slopes on their own - ie not part of another run so no idiots hammering down knocking beginners out of the way! Main chair up to Monte Vigo is crowded first thing in the morning but soon clears. Easy connections to Marrilleva where there is a good fun park for snowboarders. Link to Madonna is a tricky red - not for the faint-hearted - both over there and on the link back.
However it is worth doing to ski the runs in Madonna di Campiglio or visit the town square to have a drink outside the Swiss Bar! We have been two years running to the Kapriol and would go again. Only about a two hour coach transfer from Verona Airport. You must try a Bombardino made by Loredana at the Kapriol bar!
