A beautiful part of Zante, lush green, tropical, golden beach, warm water. No development because it is a protected area. The apartment is just a hundred yards from the beach, tavernas and a small supermarket. Yet the setting is rural with chickens, goats and donkeys surrounding you. We even saw a couple of baby turtles just hatched on the beach.
Great food at the local tavernas - especially the Gerakas family taverna owned by Yiannis brother. Yiannis is the man who runs these holidays and what he has achieved here - responsible tourism - is quite remarkable. I can only hope he manages to keep the developers at bay.
This is a really special place to come on your holidays but for people who seek a rural retreat only. Though there is plenty to do in terms of eating, drinking and exploring, don't expect nightclubs and karaoke!
